We've come to this Hero location a few times and it is a nice hidden gem for some of the best donuts in town. We've tried pretty much every donut place in town (Parlor, Foxs Donut Den, Five Daughters, etc) and Hero has to be our favorite. The employees have always been welcoming to us and quickly grab our donuts for us. The ambience is not going to blow your mind, but it certainly feels like an upscale donut shop. The donuts are truly the best I've had. Soft, delicious flavors, and at least 2-3 seasonal donuts which is always fun to swap things up. Even their plain glazed donut is top notch. Also, their cold brew coffee is one of my favorites in town and we look forward to it almost as much as the donuts. Give it a try and you wont be disappointed.

So happy this is in The Wedgewood Houston area. The burgers did not disappoint. I had the secret menu donut burger, my hubs had the dad burger and we shared the Super Buffalo Crunch. The house made pickles are to die for! Aereon was the highlight of our visit. He was super professional, friendly and informative. Did I mention the fries & hash browns are delish too?? Definitely going back to try more donuts and their milkshakes.

They don't have the flake of a croissant or the light airy vibe of a yeast donut. I also tried the Strawberry Fields, Milk Chocolate, Blueberry Lemon and the Chocolate Sea Salt. The Blueberry Lemon was good the first day, but it seemed that the donuts don't hold up beyond fresh. I feel that may have changed my opinion on some of the other flavors. However, the vanilla crème was good the next day. I conclude they are not my favorite and I would probably stop in for something special to get the Purist or the Vanilla Crème. It was definitely an experience. I'm glad I tried them. However, I think I'm super spoiled by my pastry shoppes in the city and my favorite Amish bakers on the Shore. The shoppe was cute and the service was fine. No complaints. It's nice to know they have an ingredient list to check, I appreciated that. I'd say give them a try because I definitely think it's a preference because the locals raved.

It's the most varied food hall I've ever been into with so many great option. We got pulled pork bbq plate with Mac/cheese and apples. Two brisket sandwiches with Mac/chesse and green beans. All meats were perfect and the greens beans had a nice flare as the meat in the beans were brisket. The Mac/cheese was just okay. Needed more seasoning and the Mac/cheese was a little runny. John Lewis Way S between Broadway and Commerce Street near the Ryman Auditorium, it's centrally located. We went there three times while in Nashville: to grab a wrap from Radish ("fast-casual healthy food restaurant with menu highlights including grain bowls, wraps, and salads") to stave off hypoglycemia; for dinner at Sixty Vines; and drinks at Butterfly Bar. It's a pretty solid place to go to grab a bite to eat, and there's something for everyone. Also, it's a good place to use the washroom. [Yelp collections: Nashville, TN 2026; Pee for free!]
