It's the most varied food hall I've ever been into with so many great option. We got pulled pork bbq plate with Mac/cheese and apples. Two brisket sandwiches with Mac/chesse and green beans. All meats were perfect and the greens beans had a nice flare as the meat in the beans were brisket. The Mac/cheese was just okay. Needed more seasoning and the Mac/cheese was a little runny. John Lewis Way S between Broadway and Commerce Street near the Ryman Auditorium, it's centrally located. We went there three times while in Nashville: to grab a wrap from Radish ("fast-casual healthy food restaurant with menu highlights including grain bowls, wraps, and salads") to stave off hypoglycemia; for dinner at Sixty Vines; and drinks at Butterfly Bar. In the couple days I have been here, I have eaten here twice. Once yesterday for a late lunch...I went to get a Philly Cheesesteak and got a meal, it was a busy Sunday afternoon but I found a seat over by the state and there was a woman playing the guitar and singing which was unexpected for me, since I've never been here to Nashville before. The cheesesteak meal was good. I got the crinkle cut fries, an extra side of whiz, and a diet Dr Pepper. The cheesesteak was delicious, but if you're hungry I'd choose to get double meat. The bread has a nice chewy exterior, and the meat, cheese and grilled onions were excellent. Sat and watched Tory Grace sing a unique version of Free Fallin (Tom Petty). Really enjoyable. My boss flew in from Finland last night, and my two colleagues came in from ATL and Milwaukee today. So we walked back here for lunch. I decided to go to Steam Boys. Kathy was manning the front of the house today, so I looked over the menu and decided to order one beef bao, a bottle of Coke Zero, and the dry zha jang noodles. Big portions! Cucumbers, cilantro, got a medium spice, the noodles were overdone but with the sauce and amount of meat it was not the end of my world. Kathy helped me get situated with the food. I found a table on the bridge in between food halls. I ate almost the entire bowl, but stopped. The bao was simply perfect. Great texture, chewy but held up to the meat and sauce. I've tried several vendors at Assembly Food Hall over time, and while I understand the appeal for tourists given its location, it's not somewhere I'd recommend as a local. There are smaller versions of well-known Nashville spots inside, but in my experience they don't quite measure up to their original locations. There are also a few unique food stands you can't find elsewhere in the city, but they're often overwhelmed, and the food quality has felt less consistent over time. The atmosphere can be extremely crowded, and finding seating can be frustrating -- especially during peak hours. What's marketed as lively often ends up feeling chaotic. Assembly makes sense for convenience and variety in one place, particularly if you're visiting downtown. The Assembly Food Hall is one of the most popular and sought after tourist destinations in Nashville. It is spread across three floors, with over 30 different restaurants and food stores serving thousands of visitors every day. There's a huge variety of stores here, including burger shack, BBQ, seafood, lobster, sushi, Indian, Mediterranean, Mexican, sandwich shops, ice parlors, wine bars and so many more. There are tables all around in each floor. Still during peak hours it was difficult to get an empty table. We walked around for few minutes until we say a group leaving a table and grabbed it right away. The are several staff members who walk around and clean the empty tables. There's also long lines at each store when it's rush hours. We waited about 10-15 to order at each store. We spent couple of hours here, got to try some tacos, sushi, lobster roll and ice cream. I would highly recommend going here for a meal. Very large and clean, with lots of seating (indoors and outdoor). Choices include the famous local Hot Fried Chicken places: Hattie B's and Prince's- both must try. But also has Thai food, sushi, Vietnamese food, Mexican food- almost anything you would want. There's also a wine bar owned by Dolly Parton and live music, and it's smack in the middle of Broadway, right next to the historic Ryman auditorium. Opened in 2021, The Assembly Food Hall has brought more than food to Downtown, Nashville. It has created a unique third place. It is a third place that my Dad, Brother, and I visited three times to escape the brutal Nashville summer heat and humidity and where my brother and I visited a fourth time to eat at Prince's Hot Chicken. The Assembly Food Hall has a large foot print that takes up a significant portion of the upper two floors of the Fifth at Broadway Mall. It is currently the second largest food hall in the United States trailing behind Feneuil Hall in Boston's Quincy Market. From the street level walkway of the Fifth at Broadway Mall an escalator or elevator takes guests up to level 2-S (South) and level 2-N (North) which is the main level that features over twenty-five food kiosks. The spectrum of choices covers food from throughout the world. This level also includes bars, balconies,and a stage with live music. Connecting level 2-S and level 2-N is a pedestrian bridge providing a panoramic view of the AT&T Building towering above the Ryman Auditorium. Level 3-S includes the sky deck, stage, and numerous bars. It was during my pre-trip preparation that a YouTube video informed me that the sky deck provides the best view of Broadway. I wanted to spend some time there. Haplessly when my brother and I attempted to see it, it was closed. This left me with the impression that it is only open at certain times. This third-place served the important function of giving us refuge from the Nashville heat and humidity. The weather was brutal. In the afternoon we were not up to drinking and listening to music in a honky-tonk. I saw zero Starbucks and coffee houses in the Broadway Historic District. We wanted to relax and engage in conversation minus the loud noise and alcohol. Please keep in mind that three of these visits were approaching dinner time where we wanted to dine in a full-service restaurant. Instead of coffee, we partook in bottomless Coke and Coke Zero refills from the beverage station. It cost $3 of cashless currency. The Assembly Food Hall is credit and debit card only. The Assembly Food Hall website states that some kiosks sell the Food Hall pass. There are two Coke beverage stations with one in level 2-S and the other in level 2-N. On the three visits with my Dad and Brother, we sat in level 2-S. In contrast to the outside weather, the inside climate was cool. In addition to central air there were fans circulating the cool air. The leather booth made for comfortable seating. On one of these visits we listened to a woman playing acoustic guitar and singing. The inside was spacious with touches of modernism. An abundance of windows brought in the natural lighting. From this part of the food hall I smelled barbecue. Being a third-place on our second visit an old couple started talking to us. On our last visit which was with my brother, we sat in level 2-N eating Prince's Chicken. I think level 2-N is a newer addition to the Assembly Food Hall. Just like 2-S, it is spacious and modern. One flaw is that there is a want for clear signing pointing to the beverage station at the northwest corner. This caused my brother and I to have to cross the pedestrian bridge and across level 2-S to fill up our Coke cups. Being a third-place, there are outside balconies. When the weather is not brutal this is a good spot to engage in conversation or just relax. After finishing our Prince's Hot Chicken, my Brother and I hung out on the balcony overlooking Ryman Auditorium and the Legends Mural. I rate the Assembly Food Hall Four Stars. In my opinion it succeeds at serving as a first-rate food hall and as a third-place where people can spend time together in Downtown Nashville engaging in conversation or simply relaxing without alcohol and loud music. read more

A fantastic food hall! Great for people of all ages, desires and hunger levels. There are a few bars sprinkled throughout endless restaurant options. A little overwhelming, but in a good way. We ended up ordered sushi and was very impressed at the quantity of food for the very reasonable price. We also grabbed a few happy hour drinks at the bar. I must note that this food hall can be quite an overstimulating experience on a Saturday at 7 pm, so be wary if you're looking for a peaceful dining experience. Good luck finding somewhere to sit. All the food booths charge $3 for a fountain drink/water unless you want to drink out of a snow cone "cup". Bring a reusable water bottle if you can! It's pretty tempting to eat here every meal of the day. It's a food court -- like you might find in a shopping mall. But, it's of a higher quality than any mall could ever dream of. Is it spectacular? No. Is it terrific? Not really. Is it above average? Yeah, generally. And the convenience, especially when other restaurants in town are crowded and slow, is hard to beat. There are also some nice little tables outside -- if the weather is too chilly for some people, those who prefer cooler temperatures will get the whole area to themselves -- and it's very nice with a good view overlooking the walkways. Saffron, the Indian eatery, was a particular standout. Prince's has the always popular hot chicken -- though it sure could use a little seasoning (or, at least, salt) and be less dry... the "hot" has to do a lot of heavy lifting, since it's basically flavorless at anything less than medium spiciness. The most off-putting part are the eateries at the Assembly Food Hall that close early and actively ignore potential customers. Though the eateries supposedly close at 10, by 8:55 you'll feel extremely unwelcome in their presence. Because people are behind the counter (and there are no signs saying "we close at 8:50") the only way you can sense that your business isn't wanted is if you're being showily ignored. Of particular note was "Whisk Crepes" whose staff resolutely avoided eye contact with potential customers. And NoBaked Cookie Dough also avoided eye contact with a group of people, though they didn't seem to mind waiting for something since they were quite drunk (not that the old semi-melted looking cookie dough looked remotely appealing to a sober passerby). I don't mean to single out just those two business (though I just did) -- the majority of eateries start ignoring customers as soon as it's near an hour before closing time. It's unpleasant, and I never returned, at any hour. If I wanted to be made to feel bad for thinking of eating, I would go to a different city. I really didn't want pizza, but after wandering around for a long time, by 9:20, DeSano was one of the only places open. And they were very enthusiastic and the person at the counter was very kind (the usual way in Nashville). The pizza was a bit liquidy and underseasoned, and the mozzarella was really bland, but it was better than feared, and, like I said, they were nice, and open. read more

Every other review that I read for Assembly Food Hall absolutely nailed it -- it's literally a mall Food Court on steroids. You name it, you can probably find it here. So many options for meals, snacks, desserts, coffee, drinks, etc. I always find something fun and new when I'm here, and I love it. One of our work dinner go-to spots is Sixty Vines upstairs - there's a couple private dining areas and it's a huge place. You can sit at the bar in a few places in the food hall, but there's tables everywhere so you can grab your food and take it to meet your friends to eat. Everyone can pick what they want and all come together - it's really pretty fun. read more

Assembly Food Hall is located in downtown, right by the famous Broadway street, specifically right across from the Ryman Auditorium. Only (metered) street parking is available. My husband and I came by this food hall last month on a Saturday afternoon. It just so happened to be a special Mardi Gras celebration, which was fun to see a balloon artist, stilt walker, live jazz music, featured food items from some of the vendors and a small area to take photos. This food hall is incredibly big with a lot of seating and over 30 different types of eateries that you can choose from. But it can be a challenge to find a table if you come on a busy day. But if you are patient, I am sure you will be able to find a table, as people come in and out all the time. What I really love about this food hall is that there is a QR code on the napkin dispenser that is on the table that allows for you to look at all the businesses' menus and order directly from your phone. Then you can walk over to that business when it is time for pick up. And yes the prices are the same online, as they are on the businesses' menus (as I double checked for a few businesses to make sure). The online ordering made it very convenient for the both of us to order our lunches at separate eateries and pick up when it was ready. Another thing that I really love about this food hall is the live music. Being in Nashville, that is something that you can assume you can most likely find in this city. There is just so many incredibly talented people living here. It is nice that the Assembly Food Hall also allows for local artists to come and feature their musical talents for others to hear. I am not really a big fan of food halls. I like to go in and browse but rarely have I ever stopped and dined at one because I have always found the choices to be average or sub par. And also usually overly priced and sometimes feel it is too overly hyped or hipster. But this food hall was nice. Some of the restaurants that I had considered ordering at had prices that I felt was reasonable. I also liked that there was also quite a variety of choices and also had food that I think Nashville is also known for as well. I think all food halls should try to strive like Assemble Food Hall. The only downfall I see with this food hall is the bathrooms. I wish there were more stalls in the ladies' restroom. There was quite a long wait and wished the line moved faster. Love this place! It became a central hub for our eating while we were in Nash for several days at CMT Fest. Since they hosted some festival events it made it so convenient. Grab some hot chicken, fish and chips, lobster rolls, poke bowls, tacos, or cocktails. Clean bathrooms, plenty of seating, even feel free to mix and match from options to create your own meal. I was here recently on a rainy Thursday evening just prior to a show at the Ryman and it was pretty sparsely populated. Plus they have a lot of seating options both indoors and outdoors. After looking at all the options, I stopped at Dock Local, which offers mouthwatering lobster rolls. I ordered the Connecticut Lobster Roll and fries. The roll was full of delicious lobster and they served up a ton of fries. After dinner, I enjoyed a scope of ice cream from Hattie Jane's Creamery, which serves up made-from-scratch ice cream using local ingredients.
