Finally made an appointment to get my vision checked. The entire office staff from front desk to optometrist, were helpful and courteous. They took my VSP insurance and suggested items based off my coverage. I ended up ordering a much needed pair of glasses. Based on my experience I would highly recommend this establishment. Dr. Hernandez Optometry is by far my favorite optometric office in the area! I come from Covina to get my eyes checked and buy my glasses! The staff is nice, helpful, and professional. The selection of glasses they have is outstanding in regards to style, and price! Even if they don't have a pair of glasses you want they can order them for you and you can come in later to check them out. I've bought a couple pairs like that. Dr. Alma Fragoso-Corona is the best!! She is so friendly and welcoming and great with kids. She always makes my son feel at ease and keeps him smiling/laughing he looks forward to seeing her! She is very clear and concise when giving me information about my vision and my sons. The girls in the front are all very helpful with submitting my insurance claim for my glasses as well as setting our appointments. I like that after my visits I have the option of submitting feedback to them (although it's always a positive experience) it's nice to know they care what you think. I was hesitant on going to any Optometrist, I've had bad experiences in the past. so I decided to make an appointment. It took me a while they where remodeling there office, when I made the appointment over the phone the receptionist was very helpful. She even gave me info on downloading my forms online so I didn't have to do it when I walked in. So finally the day has arrived, I show up on time 9am I get greeted as I walk in, spoke to Sylvia Very polite, I probably waited 20-30 minutes after arriving, they did some exams on my eyes, then I met Dr. Alma Fragoso i must say she's was very professional, understanding, She listened not like other doctors that are very robotic, she's very sweet, pleasant and kind! And helpful. She was able to see an issue in my right eye that I wasn't aware of. She recommended a specialist that I will also be visiting soon. Than Sylvia helped me with choosing the correct reading glasses, she was patient and took her time, always with a smile on her face. That makes anyone feel at ease. I'm a licensed health care provider, and have been a patient of this office (Both Dr. Hernandez's & Dr. Fragoso) for over 20 years; I only wish more HCPs were as caring, knowledgeable and competent as this office is. They are honest, have great follow-through and follow-up, and there is no hard sell for services, procedures or products. Case in point: I waited a long, long time (30+ years) before considering Lasik surgery, afraid of the horror stories I had hear from other patients. All three of the doctors had their procedure done by the same surgeon, and had no consequences postoperatively, so I scheduled my appointment. I took my son here for an eye exam, the place was clean and it was a short wait. However the doctor was unable to determine my son have astigmatism. I had to take my son to another optometrist to have his eyes checked, because he continued to complain his eyes was hurting after 10-15 minutes of watching tv. Something is just not right. I had called and ask for another checkup but they said my ins doesn't cover another eye exam but I shouldn't have to pay for another eye exam if the doctor was unable to determine my son have astigmatism the first time. Because of the global pandemic this location had denied me a clinic appointment . I was making an appointment for my eye check up and when they were asking me all this questions about COVID And they asked me if I have been in contact with person who is positive for COVID I told them yes because I work at the hospital ( front liner) , I was told that I can't be seen because of this. To my disappointment I felt being descrimininated by Hernandez optometry. This is unacceptable and unfair to be denied an appointmentbecause I am a frontline worker. So it you're a doctor, a nurse, a respiratory therapists , firefighters or anyone who are frontliners that's means you will not be able to be seen by Hernandez optometry. read more

I started visiting this optometrist office 3 years ago. They are walking distance from my house and are open on Saturdays. The staff is attentive and helful. Dr. Fragoso-Corona is nice and patient. She has been attending my child and he feels comfortable with her. She communicates well with children as well as with parents. I went for a check up today and was attended by Dr. Ibarra. He is also very professional, attentive and made sprofessional were no problems with my new contacts. They have a great varaity of frames you can pick from. I've had the pleasure of having Sonia, the Optician, assist me in selecting frames for both my son and myself. She is extreamly helpful with the frame selection as well as the breakdown of the fees. I am very happy with the overall service of this office and I do highly recommend anyone to visit it. Note: for many years I used to go to a different optometry office that is located in Hacienda & Francisquito (where the 99c store is at) and stopped going due to the bad service I was getting. I had no insurance at the time so I decided to go in, since it's local. I asked if they can help me repair them and how much. They asked me to take a seat so they can fix them. I had been a regular at this location. I had made an appointment well in advance (which included working my schedule around the times they had open on Saturday) only to find out that they no longer taken my insurance. They contacted me the day before the appointment as they had a "question" regarding my insurance. I will for sure NEVER go back to this location even if they become an in-network provider. It is unacceptable for there to have been this issue. When I made my appointment, I told them that I did have insurance. They had well over 2 weeks to find confirm this information and they didn't until the day before. Not a way to do business. NO WAY!!! read more
