I don't usually do reviews of anything but restaurants or food but the service I received from…read moreExteriors West left me wanting to tell the world so here it goes. If you could describe Exteriors West with one word it would be "Outstanding" with a capital O. Dan, who is owner and installer, has got the installation down to a science. Dan arrived at my home around 8am to install a 16' X 20' aluminum patio cover which he flawlessly and meticulously installed by himself and completed around 6:00pm, Including cleanup. He has been doing this work for 25 years now and it shows! Do you remember the days of great customer service and honesty of business owners in the 50's? Well there are a few still out there and Dan is one of them. Maybe that is why the Better Business Bureau has given Exteriors West an A+. He completed the patio cover then proceeded to look over the cover with a fine tooth comb, wiping down the cover removing any finger prints or dirt he saw then he continued to look it over and painting any scratch or blemish with the factory touch up paint. Just this alone took about 45 minutes to an hour this is how meticulous Dan is and what kind of commitment he has to make everything perfect. When Dan started the job he put down sheets of cardboard and covered my deck with it to protect it. And at the end of the job he swept up his work debris and picked up the cardboard. He then blew off my deck with a leaf blower and picked up any stray garbage. My deck was left cleaner than when he got there. Then fit and finish of my cover is outstanding! From the planning, selection of materials and construction, Dan has been very patient and full of information and suggestions. If you need a patio cover, carport, RV cover, railings, window awnings, whether it be residential, commercial or industrial, Exteriors West is the company you want to go with. He said he does jobs all around Washington and told me he had just returned from a commercial job in Oregon. Sorry if this sound like a commercial but when I find a company that does an outstanding job all the way around, I have to tell someone. And today, you're that someone.

One of the bids we threw out as unrealistic and so low that it was obvious there would be complications. The other three came in surprisingly within fifteen dollars of each other. Why did we choose Kelley Home Services? When the others told us they could not do a custom shower pan (longer that 6 feet), or said that they could not install cabinets that we had bought seperately, or use paint that we already had on hand, Kelley said "Sure, no problem, we have a master tiler who can do that custom pan, of course you want the cabinets to match the kitchen, we would be glad to install them for you." Time and again Kelley said yes when others wanted to steer us toword a better porfit margen for them. Lets talk about the people we got to work with: Pat Kelley, contractor, owner, and very competent leader. He never said no, and never failed to contact us back within 24 hours, even on Memorial Day and 4th of July. Randy, the supervisor and master tiler on our job was polite, respectful and funny. He made sure the crew was there everyday on time, and that all our expectations were met. Every single day, at the end of the day he told us what they had accomplished that day, exactly when they would return, and what they would be trying to accomplish the next day. We always knew what to be ready for, what to expect, and what we could do to help. So smooth! The sub contractors who work with Pat Kelley are outstanding. Both the pumber and electrician knew their stuff, made every change we had asked for without hesitation and replaced like with like; copper pipe with copper, high quality professional grade recepticals, etc. The entire project was completed on time, on budget and best of all, we all parted as friends. Outstanding job guys! And thank you sooo much.

Only problem was that my house is only 1275 square feet and just too small for another bedroom. We designed a separate mother-in-law apartment, had plans made, permits secured and started a search for a reliable, affordable contractor to do the work. After interviewing several others, we were very impressed with Pat Kelley's professionalism and knowledge, but what won us over was his warmth and concern about making this project a safe, practical, and cozy home for my Mom. The construction got underway. Kelleys handled everything with patience and transparency. They communicated openly about budget, modifications and materials, performing the work beautifully. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic happened as we were nearing completion. Kelleys handled our frustration with compassion, complied with all kinds of new regulations, and finally kicked our project through the goalpost, giving us a beautiful new living space. My Mom loves her new MIL apartment, and we love Kelley's Home Services. They walk their talk and can deliver what you're looking for with quality and integrity. Can't say enough good things about them!

We couldn't be more thrilled with the results!…read more The first contractor we contacted actually referred us to Timberline due to the size and complexity of the job. I had some rough drawings I had made using free 3D drawing software (look at the photos to compare the concept drawings to the final result). I showed them my ideas in December, we discussed materials, components, and pricing throughout January, and signed a contract in late January. They prepared architectural drawings in February and the engineering in March. By April we were in Permitting with the city and broke ground in late May. They knew we were planning a big party for Mid August so they worked feverishly to get it all done in time. Tony was our project manager and was great with communication. Lucas was our construction lead and Matt his assistant, and they both were great to have on the job, and they kept us updated daily with what they were working on and what was coming next. I was also impressed with their choice of contractors for the gas, electric, masonry, and painting, all did high quality work and were very professional, courteous, and respectful of our home and our neighbors. Throughout the project Tony (Project Manager) had great ideas on how we could improve things, and they were always very responsive to our wishes, working very hard to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted. For as much of an ordeal as it can be to have people working at your house for four months, they made it as painless and as stress free as possible. There we no major issues or concerns, and even the minor stuff was typically cleared up in one email or phone call. I can't imagine having a better experience. And the final result is absolutely amazing! We are on the patio every day and throughout the weekends, watching football, cooking, and enjoying hosting friends and family. It's made such a huge impact on our quality of life. I only wish we had done this sooner. The scope of the work was a 16x30 covered patio, plus pavers along the front and side, and a separate paver and fire pit area. The patio has 4 skylights, a ceiling fan, 12 recessed can lights, four 4Kw heaters, a 36-inch gas fireplace, 36-inch Hestan grill and dual side burners, Bose speakers, and a 70-inch Skyvue outdoor TV. The counter tops are granite, and the kitchen, built-in seating, and fireplace are covered in natural stone. The seating is topped with natural blue stone and has built-in storage areas underneath. The flooring is Mbrico porcelain tile and it is amazing! We've already had things like grease and even a bit of paint spill on to it, but everything just wipes up effortlessly with a little shot of Formula 409 and a paper towel. It's expensive, but if you want zero maintenance flooring that will last a lifetime, this is the stuff to get. I can't speak highly enough of Timberline patio covers and their entire team. If you are looking for top quality work, you won't be disappointed.

However, a mishap costing us an extra $5K and communication with Luis left me feeling uncomfortable. I would not recommend him to others. I asked for 3 sides of our large backyard fence to be torn down and reconstructed. I said I wanted it to wrap around from our previous newer fenced section to our home. I asked for a walk-in gate. This was all in the LMS quote/bid. I asked Luis if we should do a walk-through before work began, and he said no, that wouldn't be necessary. This will be important later... By end of day 2, I realized they were leaving out a large portion on 2 of the sides. NO gate planned. I double-checked with Luis and he said other than the gate, which I guess was forgotten, that the 2 sections weren't apart of the bid. WHY would someone want to leave two 8-foot panels of old, withered, falling down fence between sections of new 7-foot fence? WHY would someone not complete a fence to the home, and leave a huge gap? That doesn't make sense. But, he told me it would cost an extra $5K. Unfortunately, I felt stuck since I wanted this job done, and they had already begun construction. I agreed, and now my project was costing us 1/3 more. On the 4th day, Luis called me while I was at work. He said the fence & gate were completed, and 2 of his guys would be waiting in my driveway for the FULL payment. I don't get cell service at the school I teach at, and as I'm driving home, I find out I'm responsible for racing to the bank within 20 minutes and picking up my kids from school. Impossible. Not only this, I find it unprofessional that there was no *walk-through* offered after the work was completed. He didn't want to give my husband and I a chance to look it over first? Make sure the craftsmanship was okay? I just don't agree with paying $15K for without this step. The next day, he was working another job far away so he couldn't collect from me. I offered to pay him the following day. Immediately Luis' texts became short, rude and made me uncomfortable. He claimed he couldn't pay "his guys" because of me. I even offered to pay him on the weekend, but he said he was out of town. He said, quote, "You have my money, but it is what it is." I'm sorry, the way you conduct your business has absolutely nothing to do with one client... the work literally JUST GOT DONE!! Banks are only open certain hours, and I have a full time job myself. He was paid the exact week that the work was completed, but after several tense text conversations. He would not text for 2 days and then demand to come by the next morning. "I will come by in the morning." No friendly greeting or even a question if that's ok with me. What?? One of his guys broke one of our in-ground irrigation sprinkler pipes, and when I told him my husband noticed this, I got no response until days later. I asked again, and he said it was all fixed. If I hadn't have said anything.. would he have told me?? For the additional $5K, we agreed to pay the following month. Luis sent me multiple Venmo requests. I tried several times to pay him via Venmo, but Venmo flagged it as "unsafe" and would not let it go through. Somehow, again, this was my fault, and I had to receive several curt texts. I asked him where I could send a check, and his response was "The address is on the bid". Just not .. kind. I always tried to be friendly and open. After our check was sent and cashed, we got no receipt and no "thank you for your business" email or text. Check sent, nothing. Lastly, he avoided questions about their warranty. On their website it says 2 years; on the contract, it states that the warranty goes by the materials - which I have no idea about. I asked several times, no answer. To this day, I have no idea if they'll fix something within a year or even 6 months. All in all, I'm left feeling unsatisfied about our business exchange. While the work seems quality, Luis' demeanor and the fact that we had to pay such a large extra cost for something I asked for in the bidding process leaves much to be desired. I hope this review will help someone.
