They were quick to respond to my voicemail and set up a time to meet with me right away. The sales guy that showed up was friendly and knowledgeable. We came up with a plan to add 200 sq ft to my deck. They gave me a price on the spot and it seemed like a lot for what I was asking for. But I was having trouble finding anyone to take on the project so I agreed to it. Man I am glad that I did. The project manager contacted me and seemed to really know his stuff. I was given a schedule and was walked through the permit process. The workers that showed up to do the work were courteous and kept the yard clean. They even moved their work trucks when my cranky old neighbor complained about them parking in front of her house. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the work was completed and the building inspector was happy with their work as well. They were able to reuse some of the old decking from the deck that they pulled off and saved me some money. The way that they mixed the old with the new was artistic. It is hard to tell where the old deck stops and the new one begins. I would recommend them to anyone I know that needed work done on their house.

Construction Kings really puts the CON in construction…read more We signed a contract May 21st, 2025 for a project beginning August 2025 that we were told would take 10 days to finish in two parts - new windows would be installed in August, and our backyard deck would be completed in October. My daughter was six months old when we signed the contract. She is now a walking, talking toddler. Time flies when you are waiting on Construction Kings. Over the course of the last 11 months, we have experienced the full range of emotions. We were elated by the wonderful communication and personal touch that we received in May, June, and July 2025. Right up until the moment work was set to begin. August 4th, someone from Construction Kings came out to re-take window measurements. September 3rd we were told those windows were finally ordered. After weeks of no contact/updates, we tried to pursue steps to be refunding in October. Owner Zak Nash reached out via phone October 14th. He was apologetic, full of reasons why work hadn't started, and he promised up one side and down the other work would begin no later than November 5th and be completed within 10 days. Two days of work transpired, the crew then ghosted for a week only to show up in order to pick up tools to take to another work site. Promises were made again and again and again. More apologies. Still no work. Old foremen, new foremen, came and went. We were told explicitly that no windows had ever been ordered but the WOULD be ordered, not to worry. Then the phones stopped working, and the company started hemorrhaging staff. It turns out that while customers were paying for work that was not being done, staff was doing work but not being paid. I attempted to find amicable resolution with the owner through various avenues, but he was unwilling to discuss the matter through writing or over the phone on a recorded line. After the stories of obfuscation and intentional lying that were passed onto me by not one, not two, not three, but FOUR separate former employees, I was unwilling to put myself into a situation where his word was all that I had to go by. I am a new mom who still has no functional windows to combat the increasing heat of Seattle summers, and no deck or backyard area to try and cool down. My yard is still littered with discarded wood, shards of metal, trash, and general refuse left behind by the Construction Kings crew. I have foolishly given all the money I had saved for my home improvement project to Construction Kings and Zak Nash. I have been cheated, lied to, and left holding the bag like so many others. Read the complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. Check with the Washington Attorney General's Office to see just how many folks have filed complaints. Simply google Zak Nash and Construction Kings to see other horror stories from customer and subcontractors left in the lurch. Do not make the mistake that I made. Take your money and run far, far away. They came out to talk thru the project and discussed options but no hard sell (which I appreciate). They assign a project manager (Blake in my case) to coordinate and keep things on schedule. However, the heroes of the project were Michael + Jonathan who built our fence. The took out the prior fence and checked in with our 96 yr old neighbor that we share the fence with to make sure he approved. He did! The walked me thru the finished fence and even added a "puppy protector" mini fence to keep our dog contained. They were super respectful, kind and FAST. It looks great and with the great warranty, we couldn't be happier.

She setup a free estimate for the next day and followed up by email reviewing the details of our discussion and with the name/photo of our estimator. Steffan arrived on time. Impressively, he listened to our issues and ideas...and helped us come up with a creative solution that we could use to accomplish our objectives. He also was willing to include a few additional exterior fixes to be part of the estimate to be done while they were to be working on our project. Steffan volunteered to do a little product research for specialized materials needed to prepare the estimate. We couldn't have been happier with the time he spent problem-solving with us...and we were confident the job would be completed successfully. Last night we had a dreaded rain and windstorm. Our puppy was not under any circumstances willing to go anywhere near the sliding door to go outside to do her business. She was so scared! Mario P. was a fantastic project manager, if you are lucky enough to work with him on your project you'll understand why. He always took the time to hear us and resolve any issues we ran into along the way and continues to do so now. He's great at his profession and is even a better person! He had an amazing team around him, Steve and Edwin did an incredible job installing our custom Azenco cover (awesome louvered cover system) that butted up against our house. There were some tweaks that had to be made along the way, but they were able to problem solve to truly make it one of a kind! Teagan with Rock Electric also did an incredible job, he had a sizeable task of installing 4 large Bromic heaters as well as running power and lighting to our Azenco cover and outdoor kitchen. He masterfully hid all the control boxes in an existing stucco pillar, which are located a good 125ft from our electrical panel in the gargage! Highly recommend the team at Timberline Patio Covers, so do yourself a favor and at least have them come out and give you an estimate. They likely won't be the cheapest price wise, but their quailty and craftsmanship are worth it!!

I called Pierce County Handyman for reinstalling 4 outside corner sections of baseboard and adjusting 2 transition pieces that had been installed improperly previously. They scheduled me for a visit about a week later so an estimate could be provided. Then a day before the scheduled visit, they asked to reschedule it due to a personal reason. I agreed to reschedule. They showed up on the second appointment and provided me with a service quote and a proposed service date. I got back to them 2 days later confirming the service and was informed the previously proposed date was no longer available. They then proposed a new date in the morning which I agreed to it. 1 day before their schedule service date, they call asking to reschedule from morning to afternoon, which I also agreed to. Then on the date of service, they texted me 2 hours before their scheduled start time to attempt to reschedule for a different date. I let them know that I had made plans for the work to be done that day and that if not possible, then to cancel the whole thing. They weren't able to come out and the service was canceled at my request. A total of 3 weeks and a half went by with multiple service days agreed to and subsequently rescheduled on Pierce County Handyman's request. In the end, no work was done...

Also, as women, I can't tell you how many times we've both had contractors talk down to us, and that was never the case with Matt. He was always friendly, professional, and respectful. And he even brought treats for our dog, who adores him! We hired Matt to help renovate part of our detached garage into a home gym. When he initially came out to see the space so he could give an accurate quote, he took about an hour so that we could talk through ideas and what he thought was feasible. His quote for the work was incredibly reasonable, and the quality of the work is stellar. He also kept the space clean as he worked, so we never needed to worry about there being random screws or sharp objects left around that we or our dog might step on. He removed a garage door, partially reframed one of the garage walls that was out of whack, installed several windows and a new door (and even picked them all up from Lowe's so that we didn't have to figure out how to fit them into our car!), and replaced the insulation in the space as needed. We opted to paint the space and install the vinyl plank flooring ourselves, but once we finished that up, Matt returned to install all of the trim, and even special ordered a piece of flooring for near the door, so that it matched. We already have a few more upcoming projects in mind for the house, and will definitely reach out to Matt first!
