I was referred to CK by a friend of mine who had them replace the old siding on their house with new Hardie siding. They were quick to respond to my voicemail and set up a time to meet with me right away. The sales guy that showed up was friendly and knowledgeable. We came up with a plan to add 200 sq ft to my deck. They gave me a price on the spot and it seemed like a lot for what I was asking for. But I was having trouble finding anyone to take on the project so I agreed to it. Man I am glad that I did. The project manager contacted me and seemed to really know his stuff. I was given a schedule and was walked through the permit process. The workers that showed up to do the work were courteous and kept the yard clean. They even moved their work trucks when my cranky old neighbor complained about them parking in front of her house. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the work was completed and the building inspector was happy with their work as well. They were able to reuse some of the old decking from the deck that they pulled off and saved me some money. The way that they mixed the old with the new was artistic. Construction Kings really puts the CON in construction. We signed a contract May 21st, 2025 for a project beginning August 2025 that we were told would take 10 days to finish in two parts - new windows would be installed in August, and our backyard deck would be completed in October. My daughter was six months old when we signed the contract. She is now a walking, talking toddler. Time flies when you are waiting on Construction Kings. Over the course of the last 11 months, we have experienced the full range of emotions. We were elated by the wonderful communication and personal touch that we received in May, June, and July 2025. Right up until the moment work was set to begin. August 4th, someone from Construction Kings came out to re-take window measurements. September 3rd we were told those windows were finally ordered. After weeks of no contact/updates, we tried to pursue steps to be refunding in October. Owner Zak Nash reached out via phone October 14th. He was apologetic, full of reasons why work hadn't started, and he promised up one side and down the other work would begin no later than November 5th and be completed within 10 days. Two days of work transpired, the crew then ghosted for a week only to show up in order to pick up tools to take to another work site. Promises were made again and again and again. More apologies. Still no work. Old foremen, new foremen, came and went. We were told explicitly that no windows had ever been ordered but the WOULD be ordered, not to worry. Then the phones stopped working, and the company started hemorrhaging staff. It turns out that while customers were paying for work that was not being done, staff was doing work but not being paid. I attempted to find amicable resolution with the owner through various avenues, but he was unwilling to discuss the matter through writing or over the phone on a recorded line. After the stories of obfuscation and intentional lying that were passed onto me by not one, not two, not three, but FOUR separate former employees, I was unwilling to put myself into a situation where his word was all that I had to go by. I am a new mom who still has no functional windows to combat the increasing heat of Seattle summers, and no deck or backyard area to try and cool down. My yard is still littered with discarded wood, shards of metal, trash, and general refuse left behind by the Construction Kings crew. I have foolishly given all the money I had saved for my home improvement project to Construction Kings and Zak Nash. I have been cheated, lied to, and left holding the bag like so many others. Update: Zak finally reached out in December about getting another roofer out to bid the project. I asked him what happened to RJ&T, who had already bid (and I thought HAD the job). He told me that they didn't want to do the work until spring and he knew we didn't want to wait that long. I told Zak that was BS! He told me that's what Mike Robinson told him. I said well Mike is a liar, because I know for a fact this was not true!!! My husband and I had been in constant communication with the roofer they had subcontracted. Because unlike Con Kings, he actually answers/returns calls. The roofer was waiting on them to order the material! We went weeks without hearing anything, then we'd get a call about how the metal roofing was ordered and work would start in a few weeks. That deadline came and went. More calls to Zak to order the roofing... finally we had a confirmation on the order and a delivery date! Then came the argument about payment. Con Kings had told the roofer that we were going to pay him directly our final payment of $27,492 after the roof was installed. But in theory, Con Kings still were contracted to do the patio cover. So my argument was, why would I pay the sub before your part was done?! Zak gave me some BS story about how they would be out at the same time building the patio cover and it would all be completed at the same time. But I have seen over the course of 11 months how they do business. They kept doing the bare minimum, just to pacify us. I call it "bread-crumbing". Then we would get ghosted for weeks or months at a time. How could I believe anything Zak said? We had been conditioned to know exactly what to expect out of the Con Kings. Roofing material was delivered on 1/16/26. I called Zak that day, but he didn't answer (shocking, I know!) I left a message telling him we were going to pay the sub directly to get this project underway, finally. On the message I also urged him to pay the roofer the $5k deposit he asked for to purchase materials to repair and prep the roof. In true Zak fashion, I was ghosted for 3 weeks. I finally received a text from Zak on 2/5/26, asking when they can schedule the patio cover install. (This text came after the we called Honey Bucket to remove the port-o-John from our property. I'm assuming Honey Bucket reached out to CK to notify them of the scheduled pick up, and that prompted Zak to reach out). At that point I responded to Zak and told him that RJ&T had not only completed the roof, but also took care of constructing the new patio cover. I said it took a legit construction company 11 working days to complete a project that CON KINGS could not complete (or barely start) in 355 days. (We got 7 working days out of CON KINGS - and it was sloppy and half assed.) This whole experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Zak and his cronies are human scum. Terrible! I paid $30,000. more than a year ago for materials. Month by month, I was told they were so busy, my deck construction would start the following month. Finally, it was due to start in January 2026. I called them to come and do another bid due to a kitchen fire on New Year's Eve which damaged the roof, which was part of their original bid. I one ever came out. I called a month later and all 5 numbers had been disconnected. A few weeks later I received a letter from their lawyer saying they were in Chapter 7 bankruptcy and no money could be recovered. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY LOCATED IN SUMNER,WA! We hired Construction Kings in July 2024 to install a new stamped concrete patio and a patio cover with stone wrapped posts and a custom stone outdoor kitchen island. During our initial meeting with the owner, Zak Nash, he prided himself on having the best "in house" craftsmen and full customer satisfaction. Should have known it sounded too good to be true. Once they got the 50% initial deposit, we were ghosted for months. They finally started the concrete patio installation in late November 2024. We asked if the post footings would be installed at the same time and they said they would be added later when they started the patio cover. Seemed odd not to install at the time of the concrete pour, but then again, we don't claim to be master craftsmen. The remainder of our project was pushed off for months and we quickly realized why. The concrete sub they hired called us in February 2025 asking if we'd paid Zak yet as he was claiming he hadn't been paid by us and therefore couldn't pay his subcontractor bill. We had cleared checks to prove it. Zak also lied about not needing a building permit, saying we could apply for one after the fact, which is not true in our city (or many that I know of). Thankfully we then opted to pay and apply for the permit. We figured if nothing else, it would hold CK accountable to build a legally safe structure (they still proceeded to fail 2 of the inspections). They FINALLY started the patio cover portion of our project in September 2025. They removed 4 very large sections of our "new" custom patio to install the post footings. They then tried to patch those areas with hand mixed concrete that was the wrong texture, pattern and color. The edges were crumbling into our yard. When we asked to have it fixed or replaced, Zak texted that it would all be fixed at the end and it would be seamless. I don't claim to be a contractor but even I know that it would be impossible to repair or replace our concrete patio once the stone was placed on top of the patio. The electrical sub they used to wire our outdoor lighting, made several large circular cut outs to the 2 separate interior walls and ceiling of our home, in order to connect the lines. We were shocked to see the damage to the interior of our home and the electrician said when he discussed the job with Zak, not US, he was told to do what was needed and Zak would take care of it. This was the electricians first job for CK and obviously wasn't aware that the drywall damages would never be addressed by Zak. To this day we still have not received a response from Zak about how he plans to make that right. We spent our Holidays staring at large holes in our dining and family room thanks to Con King! It was at this point that we had to fire them. In total we are owed approximately $19,000 from them. We have now spent more money to hire a reputable, honest company to repair their mistakes and finish our project. Do not trust anything told to you by Zak, Frank, Blake, Mary, Arielle, Jake or anyone else in their crew. They are all lying to cover for the mess they have created. From what I experiences they seems to be taking money upfront for what they tell you is for ordering materials but they are actually using it to fund older jobs and then will stall on your job until they have someone else's money to pay for your job. I paid 50% (23K) 3/21/25 and they didn't start work until 10/9/25 collecting another 25% (11K). They didn't have the materials (colors we picked, privacy wall) we supposedly paid for, we have to choose from what they had available. We were so desperate we agreed even though we didn't choose the items offers. The Construction Kings accepted approximately $33,000 from me for a $49,000 second-story deck and roof project, then repeatedly delayed, performed substandard work, left debris behind, and ultimately abandoned the job. They initially claimed no permit was required, which I later learned was false. They refused to provide site plans, attempted to charge additional fees (they did charge me $1700 for materials in addition to the 33K), and were largely unresponsive to calls and messages. They showed up 9 days from 10/9/25-11/16/25 before I cancelled the start date payment for 11K. Blake started messaging threatening to return the money without addressing how they planned to redo my damaged roof. He also demanded $2,500 for project plans needed for the permit. When I refused to pay, they stopped communicating and threatened liens and civil action. I haven't heard from in two months, when they mailed me intent to lien on 12/9/25. We found out they also did not pay the subcontractor they hired. They are getting free money and services from any angle they can. I am the owner of North Oak Exteriors and worked with Construction Kings on multiple projects as a subcontractor. Our agreement on every project was consistent: North Oak Exteriors would provide labor, and Construction Kings would provide all materials. On nearly every job, Construction Kings delayed purchasing materials, which repeatedly caused work stoppages and scheduling issues. This was especially concerning given that Construction Kings collects 50% of the total contract price from homeowners at the start of each project. Despite this, materials were frequently not available when needed, and I was often informed at the last minute that funds were not ready to proceed. In order to keep my crews working and avoid extended delays, I went above and beyond my contractual obligations by supplying materials myself on multiple occasions. Without doing so, several projects would have been delayed for months. Payment was consistently an issue throughout our working relationship. I experienced delays on every job, and on the most recent project, I was not paid at all. Posting this review as a subcontractor who performed work for Construction Kings. We completed a window replacement, full siding replacement, and construction of a new deck under clear terms: payment in full upon completion. Material was to be supplied by Zak Nash owner of Construction Kings and we do the labor. Zak failed to provide proper material for the job for months which stalled and delayed the project beyond all reasonable timelines. Even through all the obstacles and inconvenience caused by Zak our crew held up our part of the agreement. We completed our part of the work September 2025. The original invoice totaled $57,025. Full payment was due upon completion, no payment was made for months and was later specifically promised no later than February 13th. That payment has not been made to date. Before that, we were promised weekly payments of $2,500 beginning October 2025. Those payments were not made consistently as promised. After 5 months of continuous follow-up, only $9,500 has been paid toward the $57,025 balance. We were also promised a $20,000 bulk payment, which has now been delayed for five months with no payment made. Only empty promises of "payment coming soon". For seven months, we have pursued payment professionally -- repeated phone calls, text messages, and direct requests for resolution. The majority have gone unanswered. Multiple payment commitments were made and not honored. The work was completed. The invoice is valid. The balance remains unpaid. As of today I am owed $47,525. At this point, this is no longer a misunderstanding -- it is a refusal to fulfill clear financial obligations. Subcontractors who are contacted by Zak and offered work and homeowners looking to hire this company beware and think twice. We hired them in March, with a 50% down deposit, to build a deck for an agreed upon start date that last week of July. July came and went. August came and went. September came and went. No proactive communication. Our attempts at communication went ignored. Filed a complaint with the Attorney General. Two days later, we finally hear back from them. October 9th they finally begin demolition. Then ghosted again for another 18 days. Between the start of demolition on October 9 through November 13, the crew only showed up 7 of the 25 weekdays that had passed, and two of the days they did show up it was only for a few hours. The frame for the roof of the deck was clearly done incorrectly as it is not flush with our house roof and is currently resting on a block of wood. We did not know permits were required until another contractor asked if we had obtained them. Construction Kings had began work without obtaining permits or notifying us that they were required. Now we have a half-finished deck of poor craftsmanship that is surely not up to code. Our backyard looks like a dump and is littered with trash, despite our requests to have them clean it up. We've hired a deck inspector to come provide us a report. We are now contacting an attorney. Check their BBB rating = F. Check their L&I citations. I signed a contract October 2024 for a patio cover over my hot tub area and to replace my wooden deck rails with black metal with Frank their sales rep and was told they would start in the spring around April or May. April came and nothing, I contacted them and they finally came out for 4 days in May 2025 and did a tear down and prep work, They then started on the supports and roofing but left and never returned until one day the end of October after many calls and texts, and put up the privacy fence around the hot tub area. I still have over half of the project unfinished I have called and called, texted Zak and Frank, but never any returns. I know Mary is Franks wife that works in the office. I keep getting the run around and when I do finally talk to someone I am told oh your rails just arrived, I will call you back with a date for installation. I was told this 3 times. Never Happens! It is now over a year and nothing and they have all my money. At this point I am going to have to file a report with police and the state and try to get most of my money back to hire someone else to finish, if I can't get most back I will not be able to complete this project. Zak texted me on Nov 11th apologizing that he had been dealing with some personal issues with his dad. He told me he would contact Mike to see when they can get back out here but still nothing. They also finally picked up the porta potty from a year being in the yard, but have left a ton of debris never taken to the dump. Zack is true to his word about every detail of the project and Mike always answered his phone or gave a call back when I had questions.
