What I understood was that he was going to dig it out and grade it, but he said that wasn't true. Had I known that was all he was going to do I would have never agreed to pay $1045 for a 7x32 gravelly, lumpy strip. Regardless, I was willing to pay for the work done, but when I pointed out that he lied about the price of materials, disposal fees, and hours worked, he still refused to adjust the price and threatened to take me to collections, so I paid him. He also refused to provide an itemized receipt. Also, he "conveniently" left out tax in the price of the estimate, so if you do decide to use him, make sure you add 10% to whatever price he quotes. Also, this thing he did, if he thought this was truly what I wanted (a non functional gravel strip) I would hope that a professional landscaper would advise me against it. Maybe say, "Hey, if you want to do it right you'll have to terrace this, grade this, etc. and that'll cost this." Instead, he found his mark (me) and found an easy payday. Afterwards I asked him, do you think this looks good? Does that look like a parking spot to you? Would you put your name on this? He pointedly did not answer those questions. Because the answer to all three of those questions is no. If you want more details, like the the screenshot of his work truck leaving at 10am but he telling me he was working until 11am, check out my text conversation with him. But again, if you do decide to use him, get it in writing, detailed, itemized, and tax included.

I changed my mind shortly after to postpone a replacement because the most problematic area is likely due to condensation from the heat emitting from the blue tube (electronics room) and advised Boston of the cancellation. As I referred several homes that led to a sale for them, they communicated a full refund will be done. Their operations manager Francisco was also very helpful and said he would be able to cancel the material order for minimal cost that they would honor. I waited 6+ weeks for the refund check, first it got lost in mailing according to them, then their repairman quit and was unable to drop it off, then their Sales Director Ben phoned saying he would take over the processing of the check and someone would drop the check off. The following week essentially everyone at the company ghosted me after I offered to pick up the check and Ben replied by email they would only refund $6084 even though he just said someone was suppose to drop off the refund a week ago. This was extremely disappointing as I advocated and referred many people to them as Boston and Francisco were really honest and easy to work with. However they stringed me along, mislead me on two separate refund checks that were on the way just to be backpedalled 6 weeks later in a unprofessional way. I am now awaiting their official reply on how they will continue with the refund and likely will take this to small claims court as at this point I have no trust/faith in anything they communicate. My complaint is on how they managed this situation and utter lack of respect of their customers time and dishonest communication. Luckily I'm in tech and not in a rush to get back $8502 right away but if this would impact you, don't expect prompt follow ups for refunds. This review is not for the hard working contractors who actually know their trade and do high quality work here, I was looking forward to a future roof replacement done with best practices but I don't do business with dishonest people/management. I am very happy with the quality of work and the finished product. Skyler was the project manager and Tony was the construction manager. They were very organized, the project started on time and ended on time. Every day, the workers were at my house no later than 8:30 and usually by 8:00. Skyler or Tony stopped by most days to check on the progress. All the workers wore masks, they cleaned up after themselves, they were polite and all did a fantastic job. I wish I could find a 'before' picture but here's one 'after' picture. The shower enclosure is still being fabricated. Also, if you have a chance to have heated tile floors, DO IT!! It is so worth the money.

We had a really good experience communicating with the people at Sound Construction and working with Skyler (our project manager). Skyler was nice and personable and always quick to respond to our concerns. However, we had a lot of issues with the work done by the tile setting (our tile setters were Ihor & Milad). There were a number of things that they did wrong or poorly that we had to ask them to address. When possible, they were responsive to our concerns and spent a lot of time addressing things they did wrong. But, we were frustrated we had to spend so much time overseeing their work when really they should have done it right in the first place. There were many times it felt like we knew more about how tiling should be done, even though we're just humble DIYers and they're professional tilers. Also, the BIGGEST issue we have is that they applied the shower tile by spot-bonding. Once the tiles were set this way, it's obviously not possible to reset. Sound Construction responded to these concerns by offering to extend the warranty to 3 years, but we are still concerned about the longevity of the installation. In the end, we like how the tile looks but aren't very happy with how the installation was done or all the challenges in the installation process.

We knew from the first day of hanging that these were amateurs. All throughout the process, J & G reassured me that all visible walls would still come out perfect and we nervously believed him. We were left with bulges, visible tape lines, a bowed wall with a screw that pops out when you push on the wall, rough areas in need of sanding everywhere, cracking. Absolutely no attention to detail. I know he had problems with some subs that he brought in. I'm not saying that the owner didn't try to salvage the job or wasn't trying to do a good job. He is an honest guy who worked hard for days to get it back. Unfortunately, the "finished" state is just not acceptable. Now we are paying for professional drywallers to come out and fix it. Some walls we might start over entirely. Cannot recommend. Update: we took out a section of wall that was too uneven to install the cabinets against and found they punctured the wastewater pipe in 2 separate places while hanging drywall.
