This is a delightful, cheery, eco-conscious family-owned Central American - specifically Honduran…read morelittle restaurant in Orange, New Jersey with tasty food and a very helpful bilingual staff. The restaurant is located near the intersection of Canfield St and between Canfield and North Center Streets, about two blocks from North Day street. This restaurant is very easy to access by public transportation. Restaurant easily via bus transportation from North/South Day streets and served by the following NJ Transit bus lines: 73, 71, 21, connecting with 79, 94 and 97 but always call NJ transit ahead to verify at 973.275.5555. The area is also served by connecting rail service via Morris and Essex Lines. Again, call NJ Transit with any questions. Via car: Interstate 280 is within a few blocks. From West - Take exit 11 towards Center Street/Orange. Turn left at South Essex Ave. then turn right at second cross street onto Main Street. Destination on left. From East -Take exit 11B toward Day Street/Essex Ave./Orange. Merge onto Freeway Drive West. Turn right at South Center Street. Turn right at Main Street. Destination will be on left. Car parking is tight and available on the street at metered spots. Note: Orange police are excellent at giving tickets for expired meters. The walls are painted a kind of sunrise yellow and Honduran artifacts line the walls. A television plays the latest Spanish language soap operas, news and sporting events. Great if you want to learn about Spanish language and culture. Bilingual signs remind patrons to recycle. A large jukebox stands in a corner. I've really enjoyed the pollo (chicken) roasted, with Yuca and a papaya smoothie. I also like the salad spiced with fresh cilantro.

Ordered from here the other day for lunch. As I was busy in meetings and things and had no time to…read morecook lunch. The chicharrones were succulent and well seasoned! Wish I ordered more of them, lol. The baked chicken was moist and tasty, the rice was good and the plantains were pretty good and were not greasy. They have a pickling onion like container that came on the side. I added it to the rice and damn, it brought everything up a notch. Right amount of heat and pickling, next time I'll order extra and add it to everything!!!

Delicious food. Reasonably priced…read more Love the fact that they have a huge backyard. Stopped by yesterday after a hike. Asked for water and food. Water didn't come out until the food came. Kinda strange. I think they were understaffed - tables weren't cleared, new cutlery wasn't placed. The Cuban corditita coffee was excellent though disappointingly served in a take away cup. I prefer regular cups if I'm sitting down for coffee and food. The beans, maduros, rice and vegan platter was done to perfection and was a large amount. Will be back. Again. And again.

I had an inKind coupon I wanted to use and I saw Miti Miti was one of the restaurants. It's a…read morelittle further than we'd normally want to drive for a random restaurant but we had the day off so we figured - why not? They only have outdoor seating, and you have to go around the back for the dining area. I liked that they had games on each table (giant uno, giant Jenga) so it seems like a cool spot to meet up with some friends. There was some sort of taco special going on (2 for $8, but add $1 if it's a seafood taco). Here is what we ordered: -Pork belly taco (roasted pork belly, salsa verde, pickled red onion) - definitely my favorite. The pork was so tender and flavorful -Lobster taco - (chilled lobster, chipotle aioli, red onion, corn, avocado, blue corn hard shell) - this was kind of like a lobster salad but I really liked it. I considered ordering another one of these two but I was already full from the additional pork belly taco -Crispy fish taco (panko breaded white fish, lettuce, pico, chipotle mayo, flour tortilla) - this was a solid fish taco -Spicy jerk chicken taco (roasted chicken thigh, mango salsa, crema, pickled onion, guacamole) - this one was my least favorite. The chicken was dry, and it's pretty hard to overcook chicken thigh -Birria burrito lunch special - my husband ordered this one and it was soo dry. Since it said birria, we thought it would have come with consommé, but it didn't. I don't think that would have helped much though. Lunch specials come with your choice of yellow rice & black beans, salad, or fries. He chose fries and they tasted like when you have leftover fries from McDonalds and pop them in the toaster oven the next day (not good) -Chicharron - tough and dry As I mentioned, this spot is a little far for us so I would probably only go back if I was ever in the area for some more pork belly and lobster tacos. But I wouldn't go out of my way to do so. Tip - BYOB
