I love Herbox. Initially found a Groupon that made me try it out, but because business owners don't get paid well by Groupon, I no longer use the Groupon to go back. They utilize multiple massage techniques to provide the best service, including hot stone, deep tissue, and Thai massage (stepping on back, stretching, etc), and I always leave feeling a million times better. I bought a Groupon for the cupping service. It was $14.50 after applying a discount coupon. PROS Overall, I had a great experience. Cathy applied the cups and came in to check on the cups every few minutes. One kept falling off and she had to keep suctioning it back on. She indicated that the upper left side of my back had bruising way more than anywhere else on my back. This area correlates with the small intestine and I have bad digestion. To improve this, she recommended that I have 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar every morning, have some papaya sometimes, and stretch more often. She asked if I sit down a lot and I told her that I sit a lot at work. LOL! The rest of my back looked normal and has good circulation. She offered to add a massage for an extra fee of $30 for 30 minutes or $60 for 60 minutes. She said a lot of people add massage on to the cupping service and it helps with making the bruises fade away. I initially declined thinking that was her way of adding more and more services for more fees. But after she removed the cups, she pointed out areas of my back that were particularly tight. I knew she wasn't just saying that because I had some pains there for a while. So I decided to add the 30 minutes for $30 service. It felt like she knew very well how to feel for the tight areas and work out all the kinks. She rubbed hot stones and placed them on the palms of my hands, along the middle of my back, and on the soles of my feet. I think this was the best massage I have ever had. CONS The suite does not say HERBOX outside. It has another business name, Beauty Med Therapy. The first time I went in asking for Cathy and HERBOX, the woman there didn't know what i was talking about and said it's the wrong place. I texted Cathy and she said Supercuts. I went to Supercuts and they instructed me to check the directory. Herbox is not on the directory. Cathy told me that the woman that greeted me was new and that's why she didn't know. There is room for improvement with communication. CONCLUSION This was the best massage I've ever had. I'm glad that I decided to add it on. I was also pleased with the evaluation of the cupping bruises, which I did not expect. read more

As tourists who needed a massage desperately, we originally found this place through Groupon! I called for an appointment on the same day and they were able to fit me in (ALWAYS call to ask about availability before purchasing anything on Groupon). Not only that, but the lady said she'd match the Groupon price if we just paid directly to her. They accept card and even Venmo. The address led us to a building unit. There was parking around the corner, but it's $2 for an hour, we paid a total of $6 for 3 hours. GO EARLY!!! Recommending 10-15mins early. Finding the massage place was tricky. Make sure to look at the room number by the elevator when you enter in the building. When we got to the correct unit, the room was relatively small. You could hear some conversations go on, but the massage was so good (personally for me as someone who likes it super hard), that it hardly bothered me. They introduced "stepping" to me and it was life changing (they literally stepped on my back and dug into every inch of my back). If you're someone who does NOT like it super hard or deep, I wouldn't recommend it to you. But worth a try for sure. They constantly checked in on my boyfriend and me to make sure that we were feeling alright. We also got a facial from them, it was relaxing but I think I enjoyed the massage more. Great service and massage was great. Visited Hawaii twice in two months and came here for a massage for a group of two and a group of 4 and they were accommodating each time. They were able to find knots and work on the kinks. This place is not your average foot massage place to get body work done as those places are inexperience for body work. Definitely recommend them. The other reviews mostly state the inability to use groupon. Groupon usage is definitely hard to utilize but if you schedule your massage a few weeks in advanced with your groupon voucher code, you should run into no problems. We did not use a Groupon but rather just called the spa and inquired about pricing which may be cheaper than Groupon. One thing I would note for the ladies - when performing the massage, try not to pull or stretch your customers as we are trying to relax and don't need pulling or stretching the legs. I have booked a massage at Herbox because I had a couple of hours to kill before a dinner reservation. Going into the building, I didn't see any signs, but there were steps to a second floor above the lobby leading to a gorgeous spa. Unfortunately, that was not it. You need a special code for the elevator that you punch into the four buttons. My spidey sense was telling me this was sketchy, but I recalled all the great reviews this place had and carried on to the fourth floor. This spa amounted to two massage rooms in an office building floor. I was given a key to be able to use the restroom, which was on the other side of the office building floor. A spa without a restroom seems strange, but I figured I'd ignore that and just focus on the massage as my back was tight from a workout. The massage started a bit rough... and stayed rough for the entire session. I actually like deep tissue massage. This was not it. It was pinching and pressure on my spine, not like what you'd expect from a chiropractor or a masseuse. It was not pleasant. Language was a bit of a barrier as the masseuse did not speak English well, so I gave up on trying to adjust the massage and just decided to endure. I was upsold on hot rocks without actually being asked. I was relieved when the session finally ended. I had back aches through the night and felt the effects of this massage session over to the next day. Needless to say that I do not recommend this place. read more

Went to see Cathy because of a groupon deal! It was $50 for 2 cupping sessions--30 minute's each. I was a little scared because I've never done cupping therapy before but I've been fighting a real bad flu so I read up on it and was leaning towards the idea of detoxifying my body so I went for it. The place was in Kakaako, right next to Supercuts. You gotta go inside a gate then walk up to the second floor. I had been in contact with Cathy the whole time prior to my arrival, as she was able to book me and a friend in right away and prepare us on what to expect. We walked into the place and it was AC. Cathy met us at the door and led us into a room with two beds right next to each other. She was very kind and gave us instructions right away. I was just ready to get started honestly, so I'm glad she got right to it. I took off my shirt, lay down on the bed, and she brought the machine out and did it. She put like 16?? But it wasn't so bad (I have a high pain tolerance). It feels like if you were to just nonchalantly pinch your forearm and just hold it there for 30 minutes. Of course, it would be Multiple pinches all over your back. And I guess the intensity of it depends on how much toxins are roaming around in your body. Again, I was just there in hopes of ridding my sickness, so I was able to tolerate the 30 minutes of suction cupping whilst a red light was shining over me. Just breathe.
