Initially met Tom & Tanya 2/27/26 view my existing Fiberglass Pool and discussed the tile application for the waterline. Tom gave me a suggestion for an alternative solution and I liked his idea for the application. It was suggessed that I do a resin based application rather than tile which can come off overtime. I was intrigued with that approach as I had previously had a fiblerglass pool in Chicago area and had 2 small tiles fall off. Luckily, they where easy to reapply so it was not a big issue. With this resin application I could have any mix of colors and it was trowled on the walls leaving as very nice permanent border. Tom was even able to apply it to both sides of my hot tub and spillover area which I really wanted to dress up a bit. And the price was reasonable. It has minimal depth and didnt stick out but a fraction of what a normal 1/4" tile would. I ended up selecting a medium aqua blue varigated with white. black and a lighter aqua color. Matched beautifully with my aqua colored pool The application took Tom just 2 days to complete start to finish after draining my 35' pool/hot tub combination. He did a fantastic job on the application and cleanup too. I waited a few days to fill the pool as I was waiting for my pool light bulbs to arrive then installed them. After which I was ready to fill the pool. I can't tell you enough how beautiful of a job Tom did on the waterline. It truly is beautiful and just what it needed to spiff it up. I am very grateful for a excellent job & cleanup that Tom did in record time as he was kind enought to squesse me in earlier than expected. Consumers beware - check Register of Contractors-- BBB. We paid Tom Henson cash up front to repair our pool- City had red tagged it for incompetence in work and does not meet code. We never met the owner but Tom the son is a pathological liar and subbed the work out to a non license contractor. Classic bait and switch - company has numerous claims pending and lost his license , protect your family this guy is psycho to deal with ! Had my pool recoated. They did a very good job and did a few extra things like retaining some tiles on the steps that had not been in the original quote. Very friendly and accommodating. While there, I backed into his truck and broke a taillight. I paid for it but it was some trouble for him to have it repaired, yet he was very accepting of the situation. read more

I just had my pool updated by Henson's Pools. I received a quote, accepted it and we were underway. Tom Henson showed up every day on time and helped redo my pool. They fixed a couple of cracks, installed two handrails, replaced my old outdated brown ugly tile and replaced it with new dark blue modern tile. Changed the look. On time and on budget. Henson's Pools does great work. We bought a house with an ancient fiberglass over plaster pool and spa in terrible shape. They pulled out the old fiberglass and tile and completely redid it. They also replaced the pool lights and fixed some electrical where a separate demo crew had done some damage. Tom is totally easy going and is extremely knowledgeable. Everything was done on budget. I could not be happier with the job that Henson's Fiberglass did on resurfacing our swimming pool. Tom Hensen and his helper seemed to be perfectionists. We were really pleased with the final results and at a very fair price. In addition Tom Henson was there himself doing most of the more important work. I would also like to put in a plug for a fiberglass surface. We had our pool built in 1974. It was a plaster pool. We had to have it re-plastered about 12 years later, and then in 1994 (eight years later) it had to be resurfaced again. This time we had it fiber glassed. I was amazed at the difference. We no longer had to continually add acid. We had no problem with black algae. We had a Kreepy Krawly, and it seemed that the pool took care of itself. Without going into too much detail I was incredibly pleased with fiberglass. After 22 more years we had to have the pool resurfaced again, and we wanted fiberglass. There was only one contractor that did the fiber glassing, Henson's Fiberglass. I was delighted when I heard about them. And, as I said, they did a fantastic job.
