We can't say enough about how wonderful Paul, Felix, and the rest of the team were that worked on remodeling our spa. When we moved into our home the spa was in really bad shape. The equipment did not work and tiles were broken and falling off the inside. since it was inoperable it was basically a cesspool with standing water in the bottom. Can't tell you how many little chipmunks lost their lives in that thing! We even had a coral snake in there one evening, it was still alive so we were able to rescue it and send it on its way. That's about the time we decided it was time to get that thing fixed. I called at least 4 other pool companies just to get an estimate and every one of them told me "we don't work in that area" or "too far south for us." I was really beginning to get discouraged when I called Boulder Valley Pools and Paul, the owner, answered right away. He was polite and immediately said "sure! I'll come take a look." He was very up front and honest - gave us options for how to get the spa back in working condition. We had him and his team completely remodel it and install all new equipment (pump/filter/heater). Turned out amazing!! Paul took the time to explain the work being done and when it was finished he walked us through how everything works and what we needed to do to maintain it. That was actually almost 2 years ago. A few months ago we needed Paul again to help us out. We came home to a leak in the inlet pipe that feeds the spa. Water was pouring all over the back porch. We called Paul for advice - he put us in touch with a leak detection company who located the leak. Felix then was able to jackhammer into the kool deck, find the broken pipe, repair it. I had been using another company for over a year and in the past month as the temperature went up, they were not able to keep my pool clear. At one point it almost went green. I called Boulder Valley yesterday in the morning, spoke to Paul about the situation and he was able to swing by mid day. After checking his 3 keys, he realized that although the water was chemically balanced, the filters needed to be cleaned and the pump and valve were clogged. Even though he didn't have to, he stayed to clean the filters and show me how the system works so I can trouble shoot in between services. As you can see from the pictures it didn't take long for the pool to clear up. It was clear that evening and the next morning was perfect. We had a very bizarre experience with this pool company. We wanted to upgrade our pool pump, so we contacted Paul to get an estimate. He sent the estimate over very quickly which was nice. We told him that before signing the estimate acceptance, we wanted to know how far out he was booking. He said next week or the following at the latest. We had an active (but small) leak, so we wanted it done sooner rather than later. We signed the estimate acceptance on a Friday. I immediately texted Paul and told him it's signed and requested to be put on his schedule. And by the next Friday, we hadn't heard anything. We did receive a call from Paul, but he left no voicemail and when we tried to return the call, his voicemail box was full. However, we had a guy ring or doorbell at 6:45am on that Friday and he woke up the entire house (including a baby). It turns out that he was from this company and said he was here to check out the pump. I still don't know if he was planning to replace it or trying to get a look at it again, because my husband told him to come back at an acceptable hour. We had no forewarning that he was coming to our house, and our entire family had covid. If they would have given us a warning, we would have told him to come at a more acceptable time and definitely wouldn't have met him face-to-face for his protection. We had another company come out today and give us a quote, and can get us on their schedule to replace it on Monday. We decided to go with them instead. I'm not sure if this company has issues getting product or is just too busy, but the delay and failure to notify that an employee was coming to our house was disappointing. read more

My hot tub stopped working and I needed it fixed for the weekend since I had guests come in town. I looked around and could not find anyone who could help me right away...until I found Boulder Valley Pools. I recently had our pool deck refinished. The people who work under Paul are amazing and do great work. (Luis) Unfortunately, the same can not be said about the owner Paul. For as long as Paul has been in business he should know better estimates on his products. When we were quoted prices they were always a range and ended up always being the higher value. My husband agreed to do little tasks but the price did not reflect that in the price deduction. So when my husband did complete the job, that he said he need ASAP. In reality the task could of been done 2-3 days after. Paul would show up in an untimely manner and would do one menial task per day just say he showed up. I do not recommend Paul due to his lack of communication. and professionalism. Update May pool redone in December: We paid extra to have our cracks fixed-the cracks are back! Very disappointing. After Big Daddy Construction took my money and couldn't finish my pool renovation, I contacted Boulder Valley Pools and Paul restored my faith in pool contractors - he came out the very next day to take a look at the project and had a solution for every problem left by the other company. I gave Paul the job and I was not disappointed. His Pool Deck guy, Luis, did an outstanding job of grinding down my existing decking to concrete then skim coating, texturing and finally top coating the surface, it looks brand new and Paul went above and beyond to cut expansion joints and installed a new deck drain that looks amazing. The job site was very challenging with no side gate access to the pool and the crew was extremely respectful and did a terrific job of cleaning the site and the home after work was complete each day (which I really appreciated). Finally, Paul and his friend Rich came back a few days later and acid/chlorine washed my pool and it's never looked better. Throughout the experience Paul and his team were on time, every single time, and communication was flawless.
