Called Brad on short notice because our salt cell literally jumped six feet in the air and had detached itself from the pool plumbing. We were having guests over the next day and knew we wanted the pool looking clean and filtered. He fit us in at the end of the day and patched the plumbing problem. We had a great time with our guests thanks to Brad's responsiveness. Later when the replacement salt cell housing arrived we had him back out and we had him replumb our entire system so that all the pipes were straight and the filter and pump were situated fully on the pad like they belonged. He also patched a suction side air leak at our request, and he will be sending us a quote for a full valve replacement in case the patch goes bad and we opt to pay for a more permanent fix. Highly recommend due to responsiveness and good workmanship. read more

I have used practical pools for the last few years after my old pool guy retired and used and didn't have much luck with a recommended replacement company. My pool is always clean , they do a good job and always answer any questions I have and have fixed minor issues with my pool. Recently my heater went out and Brad was able to come by in a really timely manner and diagnosed it and fixed it for a very reasonable price. I would recommend him to others. read more

Brad at Practical Pools has been the absolute best! In my decades of experience, I have crossed paths with many different contractors and service providers and I would have to say my interactions with Practical Pools have been some of the best. Brad has been there for me on several occasions ... after hours, weekends....even holidays. He answers the phone when most don't (or won't) and he shows up when scheduled. He has always been very informative and helpful and lets me know all of my options in any particular situation. On top of great pool cleaning, he has done much work than that for me. Over the years Brad has installed pool heaters, variable speed pumps, automated systems, auto-fill valves, pebble tec repairs, installed multi-colored LED lights, filters, cyclones.... you name it. He's done it all. I own several properties with pools and I won't hire anyone but Brad to take care of them. A trustworthy contractor with integrity is a dying breed these days. If you're looking for someone to service your pool, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you call Brad at Practical Pools! read more

Where do I start? Brad is an absolute pleasure to work with, extremely knowledgeable, timely, responsive and and overall good person to work with. We recently contacted a number of companies about completing an acid wash of our pool because we had some black algae growing. We always knew we may have to refinish our plaster when we purchased our home last year but were hoping to get one more season out of it. Unfortunately, we were too late in the year to do an acid wash without killing the plaster. We were happy to find Brad and his team to refinish our pool with pebble Tec. Brad came out for a free quote and consultation in one day. He had our pool drained and back up and running with brand new tile and pebble Tec within three weeks. I would recommend Brad to anyone for a full pool overhaul and refinish or just simple maintenance and upkeep. Great work!! read more

Bradley has been great. When we first moved into our house the pool was wrecked. The house was vacant for more than 6 months and the pool wasn't maintained during that time. Pool looked gross, like a swamp. Unfortunately there was lots of work needed to get it back in shape. Bradley explained what we needed to do now and what could wait. He has been very honest and his pricing on parts and labor are very reasonable. He also makes sure to unlock and lock my gate so my 3 puppies don't get out. Pool has new Pebble Tec and looks great. Highly recommend Practical Pools. read more

After 20 years of wanting one, my wife and I finally had our dream pool built! Next was finding a reliable cleaning service. Several of my wife's clients recommended Practical Pools so we gave them a try. It's been over one year now and our pool is always sparkling clean. As a construction manager for a premier home builders in AZ I am always being asked by my new home buyers if I have any recommendations for landscapers and pool cleaners. I recently had a new homeowner who is active duty USAF at Luke AFB ask me if I know of a good pool cleaner for his new pool under construction and I referred Brad at Practical Pools, he said wow, small world, that's the company I see cleaning our pool on base and I was going to give them a call. I said with a chuckle, if Practical Pools is good enough for the United States Air Force, he's good enough for anyone! Obviously I highly recommend Brad at Practical Pools read more

Still waiting for a call back. I was ready to use them from their reviews. Found a super nice guy to manage my pool.

I was looking for a pool cleaning company to service my mothers pool. She has gotten to the point where she can't maintain it herself and doesn't want to ask for help so by the time she does it's needing al lot of help. When I contacted Brad my mothers pool was so green you couldn't see the bottom. We knew it would take a lot of work to get it back to swim-able condition and Brad was very honest about the work and gave a very reasonable quote for the work it needed now and for the ongoing service. He was also quick to respond. Most importantly my mother was (and is) very happy with his work and how he's treated her. I would definitely recommend Practial Pools. read more

Brad was quick to respond for Bid request. Was a fair price and was able to install new pool filter the next day. Was on time, professional, informed me of what he was going to do, and even though I had to leave for a client lunch, followed up with pictures and voice message of the completed work. Brad took our 20yr old filter system and made it new and efficient. Highly recommend for your pool needs and will recommend to friends myself. Thanks Brad! read more

UPDATE, after he responded and is doing nothing this is what I'm left with. His response you can see below. As it turns out I have hard water and no way to get the water out thanks to this completely unprofessional man. I either have to pay to add back what he took out, completely on his own accord without my permission, or buy a sump pump, or pay someone else to do it. Obviously, this is why he did that. So, now I am going to report him to the BBB.org and AZ Register of Contractors. He is not even taking ownership, simply saying "sorry for the inconvieience" REALLY? Please don't use someone who does this. It's taken me a while to write this review because I couldn't remember the name of the company I had to install my new filter. I gave him 1 star because he did it quickly in the middle of summer. I knew he was overcharging for the service but I let that go because I needed it done. That is not why I am only giving 1 star. After he left the first thing I noticed was he just left all the old garbage laying in my yard, the old PVC pipes etc. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the worse thing he did until months after that or I wouldn't have thrown away all those pieces! I'm so angry about what he did. It will cost me a lot of money to get it fixed. But, I'll get to that in a minute. After two days of running the new filter, it still wasn't filtering out all the leaves and bugs. I finally went out and took a better look. I had to adjust the release valve to the proper setting. You would think he would do that. Within an hour it was clear. It ran for two days, wasting very expensive electricity the way he had it set and never got clean. I called him and basically his comment was, oh, yeah, you might need to adjust that. Now, the worst part and the reason I am happy that I finally found his name. I hope people pay attention to this and do not hire him. What he did is the same as stealing money out of my pocket. He took it upon himself, without saying anything about it to go ahead and cut out my three-way valve and waste line. Not only can I not get down to where the drain is at the bottom to clean my filter cartridge's but I hurt my back big time trying! I am unable to drain any water out of my pool. Originally, I was glad that I thought I had found someone to be able to call on when I need my heater pool and cover installed. Once again, no, just another bad contractor. Back to the drawing board. Frustrated! read more

Practical Pools - So apparently if he messes up he doesn't fix it. - Pool Cleaners Near Me - Litchfield Park , Arizona

Brad has been amazing! We purchased a home last year where the pool was neglected, the pump and deck were in rough shape. Brad came out (even though we were out of his area) and jumped right in. He cleaned the pump, taught us how to do so, got a team together to resurface the pool deck and its amazing. We also hired him to sand blast the pool as it was heavy with scale, looks like new! He is prompt on replies, and if you have a question, he responds immediately. I would highly recommend Brad and Practical Pools to everyone. read more

When we first moved in almost a year ago, my husband was convinced he could easily take care of the pool. Then it turned green and came on Yelp for help. Practical Pools responded very quickly. Brad was and has been amazing. Our pool looks and feels amazing! Everytime we get in, my husband and I are in awe of how perfect the water feels. Half of the house has really sensitive skin and during the summer we are in the pool almost everyday without any issues. The chlorine levels are perfect! No burning, watery eyes. Call him, you won't be disappointed. read more

We were out of town for three weeks. When we came home our pool was full of debris and algae. Our pool vacuum had quit working. It was clogged up. The pool was a mess! We called brad. He came right over and now our pool is crystal clear and beautiful. Brad cleaned everything and came over the next day at 6am to backwash the pool and check everything. We hired him to do weekly maintenance because he did such a great job. We would recommend practical pools hands down. Our pool has never looked better! read more

I had a pool that wouldn't run and turned pea green on me. When I decided I needed a pool professional, I looked at Yelp. There I found many pool companies listed, most with good reviews. I wondered how I'd sort them out and finally choose one. Then it came to me. I'll let them choose themselves. I will ask several for an estimate and whoever comes back to me and wants the work, if it sounds reasonable, that's who I'll pick. It was Brad with Practical Pools. All the other companies sent me an email and told me to call them. Or they said they don't service my area. Brad messaged me and said I'll come out and take a look. It'll be between 12-2. Does that work for you? Perfect! That's what I wanted. Someone to show an interest in the job and show some motivation. Brad gave me my options and I was soon on my way to a crystal blue pool again. He did the job in a timely manner and followed through on everything he said. I'm glad I have my pool back and I have Brad to thank for that. read more

Our deck was crumbling - old, poorly-applied fake flagstone. Such a mess. Brad came out to give us a quote, and we scheduled something the same week. The new deck is beautiful, the work was quick, the cost was incredibly reasonable, and the work area was cleaned up when the job was done. Best of all, Brad really cares about his clients and stayed engaged during the entire process. I'd definitely recommend Practical Pools! read more

I called Brad when I was looking for a company in the West Valley to help get my pool back in swimming condition. I am new to pool care and wasn't really sure what to do. We scheduled a time for him to come out and give me an estimate for a green pool treatment. He arrived on time and was very polite and professional. He took his time checking my equipment and looking everything over. He was completely honest with me about what we needed to have done and gave me a more than fair price to do it. It was a bit more than I expected to have done that day, so I tried to give him a twenty for even coming out. He wouldn't take it. (Shows that he's an honest guy.) So I later called him and scheduled an appointment for him to come out and drain my entire pool, acid wash it, refill it, replace my filter cartridges, clean my salt cell, and get the new water in my pool up to pH for use. He showed up for this appointment right on time, got right to work and although he told me the job would take a few days, he finished before we expected. He was always in contact with me about what was going on (even when I was at work and he was at my house working). I felt completely comfortable with him there and we were super pleased with the outcome. I will definitely be calling him soon for some quarterly care. So don't hesitate to call Brad for your pool. He does a great job, is very trustworthy, and his prices are great. Thank you Brad for getting my pool back in great condition. read more

I was having a problem with algae on my pool walls this past summer so I contacted Brad about having my pool acid washed and get it prepared for the summer and he quoted me a price for the service. After doing a few other price comparisons I found his prices fair and he could come out on the days that worked best for me so I scheduled an appointment a few days out. The day he came out to drain the pool he let me know of a promotion he was running for the acid wash service and it ended up being cheaper than the original quote, (even though I had agreed on the original price I felt that was a very nice and honest gesture on his part). As he started, his pump wasn't working, so he went out and got another pump and was back in no time and got it started. He returned the next morning to conduct the acid wash and start the re-fill. I felt very comfortable with him there while I stepped out. He came back the next morning and got the start-up chemicals in the pool and it was good to go and looked 10x better than I had imagined. He delivered a very high quality service and his honesty has won us over as customers in the future, I highly recommend Brad @ Practical Pools!! read more
