Called Brad on short notice because our salt cell literally jumped six feet in the air and had detached itself from the pool plumbing. We were having guests over the next day and knew we wanted the pool looking clean and filtered. He fit us in at the end of the day and patched the plumbing problem. We had a great time with our guests thanks to Brad's responsiveness. Later when the replacement salt cell housing arrived we had him back out and we had him replumb our entire system so that all the pipes were straight and the filter and pump were situated fully on the pad like they belonged. He also patched a suction side air leak at our request, and he will be sending us a quote for a full valve replacement in case the patch goes bad and we opt to pay for a more permanent fix. I have used practical pools for the last few years after my old pool guy retired and used and didn't have much luck with a recommended replacement company. My pool is always clean , they do a good job and always answer any questions I have and have fixed minor issues with my pool. She has gotten to the point where she can't maintain it herself and doesn't want to ask for help so by the time she does it's needing al lot of help. UPDATE, after he responded and is doing nothing this is what I'm left with. His response you can see below. As it turns out I have hard water and no way to get the water out thanks to this completely unprofessional man. I either have to pay to add back what he took out, completely on his own accord without my permission, or buy a sump pump, or pay someone else to do it. Obviously, this is why he did that. So, now I am going to report him to the BBB.org and AZ Register of Contractors. He is not even taking ownership, simply saying "sorry for the inconvieience" REALLY? Please don't use someone who does this. It's taken me a while to write this review because I couldn't remember the name of the company I had to install my new filter. I gave him 1 star because he did it quickly in the middle of summer. I knew he was overcharging for the service but I let that go because I needed it done. That is not why I am only giving 1 star. After he left the first thing I noticed was he just left all the old garbage laying in my yard, the old PVC pipes etc. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the worse thing he did until months after that or I wouldn't have thrown away all those pieces! I'm so angry about what he did. It will cost me a lot of money to get it fixed. But, I'll get to that in a minute. After two days of running the new filter, it still wasn't filtering out all the leaves and bugs. I finally went out and took a better look. I had to adjust the release valve to the proper setting. You would think he would do that. Within an hour it was clear. It ran for two days, wasting very expensive electricity the way he had it set and never got clean. I called him and basically his comment was, oh, yeah, you might need to adjust that. Now, the worst part and the reason I am happy that I finally found his name. I hope people pay attention to this and do not hire him. What he did is the same as stealing money out of my pocket. He took it upon himself, without saying anything about it to go ahead and cut out my three-way valve and waste line. Not only can I not get down to where the drain is at the bottom to clean my filter cartridge's but I hurt my back big time trying! I am unable to drain any water out of my pool. Originally, I was glad that I thought I had found someone to be able to call on when I need my heater pool and cover installed. Once again, no, just another bad contractor. Back to the drawing board. I called Brad when I was looking for a company in the West Valley to help get my pool back in swimming condition. I am new to pool care and wasn't really sure what to do. We scheduled a time for him to come out and give me an estimate for a green pool treatment. He arrived on time and was very polite and professional. He took his time checking my equipment and looking everything over. He was completely honest with me about what we needed to have done and gave me a more than fair price to do it. It was a bit more than I expected to have done that day, so I tried to give him a twenty for even coming out. He wouldn't take it. (Shows that he's an honest guy.) So I later called him and scheduled an appointment for him to come out and drain my entire pool, acid wash it, refill it, replace my filter cartridges, clean my salt cell, and get the new water in my pool up to pH for use. He showed up for this appointment right on time, got right to work and although he told me the job would take a few days, he finished before we expected. He was always in contact with me about what was going on (even when I was at work and he was at my house working). I was having a problem with algae on my pool walls this past summer so I contacted Brad about having my pool acid washed and get it prepared for the summer and he quoted me a price for the service. After doing a few other price comparisons I found his prices fair and he could come out on the days that worked best for me so I scheduled an appointment a few days out. The day he came out to drain the pool he let me know of a promotion he was running for the acid wash service and it ended up being cheaper than the original quote, (even though I had agreed on the original price I felt that was a very nice and honest gesture on his part). As he started, his pump wasn't working, so he went out and got another pump and was back in no time and got it started. He returned the next morning to conduct the acid wash and start the re-fill. I felt very comfortable with him there while I stepped out. He came back the next morning and got the start-up chemicals in the pool and it was good to go and looked 10x better than I had imagined.
