I then turned to Yelp to find a business in my area and came across The Prestige Companies Auto Upholstery. From the very beginning, The Prestige Companies Auto Upholstery demonstrated a strong commitment to customer service. I called and spoke with Matt, who asked me to send enough photographs for him to prepare an estimate by text. When I asked whether he needed to see the vehicle in person, Matt explained that he could provide the estimate from the photographs. This saved me time, and I received the estimate within about an hour. I was also pleased that the company was located nearby and able to service my vehicle. When I dropped off my vehicle, I worked with Matt to find a headliner material in the same color as the original. I also had a new wrap for my leather steering wheel, which was coming apart. In addition, I asked Matt to examine the leather cover on the driver's seat bottom, which was cracked and had foam falling apart. Matt said he would discuss the issue with his dad who was the owner. Matt called me within two days of dropping off the vehicle to provide an update. There had been a hiccup while they searched for the right leather, but when I explained that the vehicle had custom leather installed more than 20 years ago, Matt reassured me by saying, "Don't worry, we got you." I picked up my vehicle today and was very impressed with the work. The replacement headliner looked much better than the one originally installed by the manufacturer. The steering wheel wrap looked good, and the driver's leather seat was done well. Matt also told me that they had rebuilt the foam in the driver's seat. When I drove out of the lot, I could immediately feel that the driver's seat provided much more support. I am truly happy with all the work completed by The Prestige Companies Auto Upholstery. I took my vehicle to have the center rear seat bottom and seat back reupholstered in the original…read moreleather. Initially, I was very pleased with the craftsmanship and appearance of the finished work. However, about a week later, while cleaning my car, I discovered that the rear seat bottom was loose and literally floating in place. It had not been properly secured to the vehicle. The seat was neither snapped into the retaining clips nor bolted to the rear metal frame. I found the mounting bolt lying on the floor of the vehicle. When I tried to reinstall the seat myself, I discovered that both plastic retaining clips had been broken during the installation. I had to purchase two replacement clips online. I also discovered the original mounting bolt was missing, so after being unable to find a suitable replacement at Home Depot, I ordered a new OEM bolt. Unfortunately, even with the replacement bolt, I still couldn't properly secure the seat because it appears a longer bolt is needed. At this point, the rear seat remains unsecured, creating a serious safety hazard. In the event of an accident, the seat could easily come loose from the vehicle's frame, potentially causing injury. Considering the amount I paid for this upholstery work, I expected the owner to inspect the finished job before returning my vehicle. The upholstery itself looks great, but the installation and quality control were unacceptable. A properly installed rear seat is a basic safety requirement, and this should never have been overlooked. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. While the craftsmanship of the leather work was good, the lack of attention to detail and poor quality control left me extremely disappointed.
