Jose was great to work with! I have worked with him several times and I only like working with him. I have a small business and needed some of my tables upholstered. I was able to drop off several of my tables on a day's notice, and he was able to have all three of my BlackJack tables upholstered over the weekend. I really appreciated his sense of urgency and while providing me a fair price for the work. The tables came out exactly how I needed them to be and the quality was superb.

My boat needed ski locker and rear bench reupholstered and boat cover fixed. It was done quickly for a fair price and results are amazing.

If you are looking to have any type upholstery work done for (home,boat,car) Jose provides great quality work at a great price too!!! I've had a few projects done with him and happy every time. See pictures

We had such a great experience with Jose once again! This was our second time coming back to him, this time with our antique Italian chairs that we've cherished for many years. As I mentioned in my review a year ago, we wouldn't trust anyone other than Jose to restore our antiques--and once again, he exceeded all expectations. Jose replaced the flattened cushions on all of our chairs, making them look and feel as good as, if not better than, when we first bought them. His craftsmanship truly brings furniture back to life, as if it's brand new. Thanks to his incredible skills, we no longer feel the need to buy new furniture to replace worn-out pieces--something that might make furniture store owners unhappy, but it certainly makes Jose (and us) smile! Took my leather car seat for repair which came out beautiful. Jose, the owner sent the car to a detailer to clean the rest of the interior. When I picked up the car I noticed the detailer had damaged the other seat.. Jose immediately took responsibility and reupholstered the whole other seat at no cost. Took my dad's La-Z-Boy recliner to get new upholstery and couldn't be happier! This recliner was his father's and is about 50 years old so it was in rough shape but my dad couldn't get rid of it. Because it was made so well it just needed new foam padding and material. These guys were great to work with and the recliner looks better than I ever remember it. I'll definitely be back next time I need something covered. One more thing - the price was about 30% cheaper than other large shops! read more

Established in 2014.

Business owner, Jose Luis, has 25 years experience in sewing, upholstery and automotives. Starting at his father's sewing shop since a boy, it's been a long journey of perfecting the trade, managing a large fabric corp., and working with automotives. After receiving all of this wisdom he knew inside that it was time to open a business of his own. Moving from Riverside, to Garden Grove, and now expanded and established in Anaheim where we plan to provide integrous and quality services.

Meet the Business Owner: Jose M.

A gifted, hard-working and respectful man is probably the best way to describe Jose Luis. He is talented and has persisted in developing the professional trade of upholstery. He is able to of take something that is destroyed and reconstruct it to it's brand new state, take something ripped and repair it to its new state, and/or take something like new and transform it into unique styles and custom designs. Right hand man Danny Messina manages, administrates and promotes the business and is very involved and complements the progression of the growing business.

They came out, uninstalled the headboard, and took it with them. They also gave me a timeline for when it would be ready, and they stuck to it. When they delivered it back, they reinstalled it for me too. The headboard looks beautiful -- the leather smells amazing and the work is really well done. The headboard's material was peeling and there were tears in the bench. I delivered both to the company's shop in Santa Ana. Both pieces were reupholstered as I waited. They have a variety of materials. I used an industrial vinyl for the headboard and leather (they had a scrap piece which fit perfectly!) for the bench. Each choice and reason for using one material vs another type was thoroughly explained so I felt comfortable with my choice. I also saw and understood why the original material on the headboard peeled, thus guiding my choice to the industrial vinyl (which is beautiful). I had the bench reupholstered a few years back. Upon removal of the original materials, it was found that two different colors of vinyl were used. There were also two different pieces of foam which were not glued properly and caused a dip to be created over time in the middle of the bench. Craftsmanship and materials were important for me on this project because I plan on keeping these pieces. I'm very happy with my experience, the value and price paid.

I wanted to get three quotes from upholstery shops to have the bench seat in my 1979 Chevy step side reupholstered. It would be the last major job in renovating my truck. I wanted quotes for fabric and leather. I went to a premier auto upholsterer and got quotes, both a little on the high side. I was impressed with the quality of their work. I then went to JL Upholstery and met with Jose Luis. I was impressed with his sincerity, professionalism and the quality of his work from what I could see around his shop. In discussing the details, and armed with knowledge from a Youtube video, I could see that he knew his job. He too provided me estimates. I then went to another place and got estimate for fabric and leather. I elected to go with JL Upholstery, not because he provided the lowest quote but rather because I believed that he would was dedicated to his business and would deliver high quality work. Don't be fooled by his modest shop. Jose Luis correctly projects the impression that he places a high priority on good customer service and high quality work. Jose Luis told me he would have the job done by COB on Wednesday and he did. Also, when I went to pick up my truck, he did not tell me that he discovered unforeseen problems and that the cost would be higher. He stuck with the original quote. The gray and black leather looks awesome. It also has a nice leather smell. If you want very high quality work and excellent customer service, at a very reasonable price, JL Upholstery is a great place to get it. Next, I want a quote for doing my couch. read more

I used J&L Custom Upholstery to completely remake all the cushions for my vintage travel trailer. I was surprised with the large selection of materials that Jose offered for my project. The piping was a vintage aqua turquoise separate from the main fabric color which meant he would have to obtain a very small amount of material just to make the piping.No problem for Jose. I had looked into ordering the cushions on line from a very large upholstery facility feeling I'd get the best bang for my buck. J&L was significantly less costly and when I added extra cushions that was a very low cost upcharge. The finished product exceed my expectations. The project took a little longer than Jose though but the office kept me in the loop with 3 calls updating me. For quality, at a budget price and great customer service J&L is your local upholstery that truly works hard to give their customers the best . read more

I was looking for a upholstery shop who could solve my very custom high-end kitchen diner booth upholstery job.... So lucky to find Jose and troops at JL Custom Upholstery !!!! He gave me an estimate from supplied specs and pictures which fit my budget. Then he came out to my home, reviewed project, showed fabric samples. He picked up my massive dining booth (2-very large sections and 6-cushions). They returned to shop to perform magic! Truly amazing service. I stopped by on Thursday with my new van and needed a custom floor protector and bed combination on short notice for an upcoming trip. He was very busy but understood my need and stayed late on Friday and came in early on Saturday to complete my project. He custom measured and made the bed exactly as I requested and gave me a great deal because i was in need. I almost feel bad for getting such a good deal. I needed to get the Back cover of my boat done and quite frankly, I did wait to long. Jose arranged for me to come in on a Wednesday and within 5 Business days I had My cover ready to go. The colors where faded and only through pictures did we match the colors since bringing the boat down was not an option for me. The cover came out great and was on the boat and ready for the weekend. I needed my sofa springs replaced. I sent a photo to three different upholstery companies in my area. Jose was the first to reply and to give me a quote. (I got one other quote later but it was higher than Jose's.) The sofa was picked up that very afternoon. Within 3 days they had fixed it and delivered it back to me. The work was done with attention to detail. One small thing needed fixing that Jose was unaware of, but he quickly got it done, and done well. I recommend JL Custom Upholstery. JL provides the best upholstery in town. A small business that does custom work or replaces stock materials for autos. We've had four jobs for Jose, all done professionally and for our Acura and Honda you can't tell the repairs from the original fabric, be it leather or cloth. They also recovered a leather ottoman for us--looks great. The charges were very well priced. Jose and his wife are friendly and efficient. i came with my family to fix the RV driver seats because it had little rips and was wore out and if they can fix it or replace it. i went there left my car there for a little and when it was done they called my number to tell me it was finish and when i went to go check the quality on seat was so good it felt like it was fresh out of the dealer ship. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to fix their seats on any car ( they also do seats for boats) read more
