I have a vintage 1960s Herman Miller office chair that belonged to my grandfather. The original vinyl was cracked and very dirty. I also had a few tiger pieces in need of a makeover. This shop is in my neighborhood and I wanted to keep it local. I met Dave at his shop and he showed me some great vinyl samples. I picked out a great vinyl that Dave felt would really compliment the chairs design and he was 100% spot on. I had a 1950 footstool that I had him upholster to match the chair. I am so thrilled with the quality of work. He even oiled the wood on the chair and it looks amazing!! All three pieces I brought to him were in rough shape and they all look like they are ready for a designer home. Highly recommend this shop!! Over the years I've worked with many good upholsterers, but few have the natural eye and taste as the Estrada Brothers. I brought in a 30 year old wooden bridge table with a green leather top, along with the 2 chairs. The set was badly in need of renovation. With upholstery, it's the details that count. So often lesser workshops take shortcuts, and believe me, I've had a nightmare with one! But not here. The Estrada brothers are into structure. I specifically told the brothers I wanted the chair seats rebuilt the old school way (a lesser upholsterer had just slapped a piece of plywood in, and topped it off with a thin layer of foam). The brothers built new seat frames, installed Pirelli webbing, high density foam, and a layer of batting over it. The seats are now done correctly, and are comfortable. This is workmanship! The entire set was repainted, and the leather top redyed. The Estradas have some great small pieces of leather perfect for a small job like this. We chose cowhide, and the looks is elegant western. They were courteous, and warm, picked up and delivered the pieces. It was so well done, that I have no hesitation giving them 5 stars, which is pretty rare for me. This is a small workshop, and it's easy to miss, tucked away in a shopping center surrounded by churches and a restaurant. It's best to call before you go in. And remember --it's the workmanship that will have you coming back! read more

I had a terrible time finding someone to reupholster some rustic chairs we had at our Big Bear cabin! We wanted a Pendleton/Native American pattern and every single place we contacted had limited fabric choices like that. So we found some on our own and no one wanted to use our fabric or else charge us more money-ridiculous. A friend recommended Estrada Upholstery so I contacted David who gave me a great price and used our fabric for the chair backs and ordered a nice faux leather fabric for the seats. I used Estrada Upholstery to recover two chairs. The work was excellent. However, I asked for two chairs to be recovered, new legs to be put on a sofa and an ottoman to be recovered. After they did the big expense job of covering the two chairs, I never heard back from them on the sofa legs or the ottoman. Just saying, get the little jobs done at the same time or first or you will never hear back. read more

We found Estrada Upholstery by accident. It's a little hole in the wall type of place that does BIG work! After doing some research and emailing and speaking with them on the phone, we finally felt comfortable enough to let them do the work of reupholstering 4 of my dining room chairs and a bench seat. They really worked magic on our items and the turn around time was no less than amazing, 48 hours and it was completed! The fabric that was recommended and shown to us at the shop was nicer than the fabric we initially wanted and envisioned. The price was also very reasonable. I took an old, but cherished Scandinavian chair to Estrada Upholstery. The existing upholstery was disintegrating. David did an ABSOLUTELY beautiful job. He not only re-upholstered the chair as I wanted but he threw in a few extra surprises: 1) He made the cushions reversible; 2) He tightened the connections in the wooden frame; 3) He oiled the wood. He is very pleasant and takes great pride in his workmanship. His prices are reasonable too. I will definitely return to him with other projects. Had him recover golf cart seats, the work he did was ok. The problems were that he quoted me a price and after the work was done told me he was going to charge me more. I going to pay him and he informed me that he charges more if I use a credit card. This info would of been good to know before I got there. Lastly, lost 4 of the screws for me to install the seats back on to the cart, and tried to lie about it. Told me that was how I brought them in, than changed he story and told me he had to cut one off but, didn't lose the other ones. Mind you the screws were hand tightened. Wouldn't trust him again. read more

Love this little place! I popped in with my Antique family heirloom rocking chair and they gave me an estimate on the spot. Unloaded the rocker and a month later I picked it up and it is gorgeous. He even sanded and re-varnished all the wood. Old world great service and pride in workmanship. I plan to bring my sofa here next . I highly recommend Estrada Upholstery. As a client NOT a Designer (my designer was terminated over this bed project). I had a vision and Dave took the time to explain to me what quality craftsmanship entailed by contracting his services to design my bed (designer could NOT articulate his quality). Dave provided details of how my bed would be constructed using solid hardwood base, wooden feet for durability and strength he used special wood slats that screwed to the wood upholstered side rails and wood upholstered footboard. The wood upholstered head board reached to the floor supported by wood feet. Both the headboard and foot board are screwed to the side rails and slats with two feet in the middle of the bed and a beautiful solid wood upholstered board that covered the slats providing a solid surface to place my Kluft Mattress and split box spring added to the comfort and versatility. Dave designs adequate room on each sides of the bed to accommodate linens and bedding. All wooden feet support the frame making this bed a solid piece of workmanship that is far superior to many fine furniture companies brand name upholstered beds. Dave made this traditionally styled, tufted queen headboard as I requested with beautiful attention to diamond tufts using dressmaker details, including nail head trim, bias welting resulting in an elegant statement for my master bedroom which exceeded my expectations!
