Oscar responded with clear and reasonable quotes and a 5-wk process time. sofas were picked up as scheduled. since we're trying to save some $ and matching the seat cushion, there were not too many choices of fabric to choose from. and It was hard/expensive to find trims that matched original design of the sofa. There was no place for me to screw it back into the chair, and so I decided to bring it to Oscar's to see if they could do anything to fix it. I know that this is place is for upholstery, but decided to try my luck and bring it in anyways. Oscar took a quick look at the chair and said he would be able to attach some wood to fix it up and reattach and secure the leg. He did an excellent job with the preservation of their original lines, but they are modernized and comfortable with new stain resistant fabric. I had a 13 year old wingback recliner chair, damaged by cats and use; I requested a quote to re upholster it and Maria was very responsive. The cost seemed reasonable so I made an appointment to choose a new fabric and spent a hour looking through many choices before making my selection. I chose a sturdy blue print fabric and it was not cheap. I also brought a cushion cover for another chair that needed new foam insert. The total cost might have been lower had I gone with a lower quality fabric, or left out the extra cushion but I had a good idea going in and had budgeted for it. After collecting dust in storage for more than ten years, the old chaise lounge my mom gave me was really out of shape: it was dirty, the cushion was torn up, and the backing had an indentation from another piece of furniture setting on top of it. (The samples were a good size, too. He cut them from the fabric he had in-store, all of which were $15/yard. Can't beat that!) We quickly made a decision. They picked the chaise up (free of charge, I assume because we were close by) on Tuesday, May 21, and by Friday the 24th, Maria contacted me to tell me it was finished! They delivered it yesterday, and it looks absolutely beautiful. I nearly cried. I recently learned about this place, after having learned one of life's painful truths: Never get a couch with chenille fabric if you have pets. If you do, you'll end up with a $1,500 padded lint brush. And that's all that I have to say about that. Oscar's does amazing work and has a great selection of fabrics to choose from.
