A friend recommended Oscar to us in 1994, after the trace lines on our white sofa bled during a routine cleaning. Twenty years later, the sofa still looks good. In 2006 we purchased a five-piece sofa sectional that reclined and after eight years the fabric did not hold up. We went to several stores hoping to replace our five-piece recliner sectional and discovered most sectional recliners, come only in leather. I went to this business last Wednesday to see if they could reupholster my patio chaise lounge chairs. The man I spoke with told me to come back the next day to speak with the owner as they were closed on Wednesdays. I came back Thursday morning and when I entered the shop I was rudely greeted by a woman. I explained to her that I had been here yesterday and was advised to come back today to get an estimate on my chaise lounges. She replied "well, I don't know why he told you that!" "We are busy for at least 3-4 months." "So if you want to wait you can just send me an email with a picture of the chaise lounge with the measurements and I'll send you a quote" I told her I had one of the lounges in the back of my truck(right outside the front door) and asked if she would like to take a look at it just to see if it was something they could do. She said, "No! I don't have time!" "I have an appointment coming in soon." She was very rude and snarky with me to say the least. It would have taken her 2 minutes to walk outside, take a look, and come back in. You just don't treat potential customers that way. Worst attitude I have dealt with in a long time. read more

Just had Oscar upholstery my chair. He did an average job acceptable but what I didn't expect is the following: I gave a yard of a very expensive fabric with a paternity to do a pillow 24 by 14 inches. The fabric design requires the medallion to be in the center and that is what we agreed on. When I received the pillow the center medallion wasn't there it looks like I got the scraps after someone already took the best part of the fabric. Very disapointing. read more

I have used Oscar's upholstery service before several years more than once and I was satisfied but recently I ordered a king size headboard for my bed and payed him in full in front instead of deposit because I trusted his service,to my surprise the head board was delivered in poor quality and not to what I ordered even did not use the trim material I provided so send it back. After seing all positive reviews I went ahead and contacted Oscar and it was a very smooth working with this gentleman. I took him some pictures of the furniture and gave him measutements he then gave me an estimate, we agreed on a pick up and delivery date and everthimg was done in a timely manner but most important the job was a 10. I spent some time looking for a reputable shop to reupholster grandmas couch (love seat). I settled on Oscars and went to his small shop in San Dimas and was glad I did immediately. His 40 years experience gives you the sense that you are in the presence of a true craftsman when you meet him. He is humble and honest and extended every courtesy to us when we came to see him. He answered all of our questions and was patient with us as this is our first experience reupholstering a cherished piece of furniture. The hardest part was fabric selection from the thousands, if not tens of thousands of selections available. Again, Oscar was patient and told us to take all the time we needed. He let us take home several catalogs of samples so we could make the best choice at our leisure. The estimate he gave us was true and complete; labor, and high density foam minus the price of the fabric were included in the original estimate. We made our fabric selection and were told it would be about ten days to complete the project. He even called us back to let us know that the fabric we selected was higher end on the price scale and he wanted to make sure we were aware. We were a bit nervous and called for progress reports a couple times during the ten days. Oscar always took our calls and even texted pictures of the work being done. The final product, the big reveal was magnificent! "Wow" seemed to be the consensus. We absolutely love our new piece of furniture and I know grandma would be proud. This place was great. We took in 6 kitchen chairs that had been used frequently and had worn down significantly. Oscar was great directing us to the type of material to pick out. We put down a deposit and were told the chairs would take 10 business days to complete. This time frame seemed really reasonable. Took 14 dining room chairs in to be reupholstered. I had previously talked with Oscar and his son Danny on the phone. Took the chairs in on a Saturday. I asked how long it would take and was told it would be about 10 working days. Oscar called on Thursday to tell me the chairs were ready. Picked them up today (Friday). The chairs look great. Oscar had to re-glue 6 of the chairs, and replace the caning on 4 of the chairs with upholstered seats. He did a beautiful job. Oscar is very nice and soft spoken. read more

We dropped off our chair and ottoman that had belonged to my grandmother. The upholstery was shot and much of the woodwork needed refinishing. I brought it to Oscar's to see if he would be able to reupholster both pieces. Oscar was very helpful and we were able to find the original color fabric of Forest Green, that I remember from about 50 years ago. He didn't try to upsell me, but found exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price. Then he told me he would be able to refinish some of the woodwork on the chair as well. After about 2 weeks, we went to pick up the chair and we were just blown away. It looks immaculate. The upholstery work is top-notch. And the refinished woodwork is just amazing. A couple of months ago I stopped by to see Oscar about reupholstering eight dining room chairs. I had pictures of the captain's chair and one of the other chairs. Oscar gave me an estimate for the work and told me how much material I would need for the chairs. After finding material, I took the chairs in to the studio.
