RESTORE THAT CAT-DESTROYED FURNITURE AND MAKE IT CAT PROOF. Joanne is the very best at what she does, and she's also a Los Angeles character you need to meet in person. She was a wizard at assisting us in choosing a cat-proof fabric to restore our beloved Room & Board sleeper sofa (it has the best sleeper mattress by far). Joanne has experience in cat-proofing with her own little critters, and she swore by the fabric that looked great after 7 years and counting in her house. It definitely gave us confidence, even knowing how destructive our little critters can be. Joanne was extremely responsive and most of our communication was accomplished remotely, but we also benefited greatly from visiting the office and going through fabrics. She gave us a competitive price that INCLUDED pickup and delivery, which is a rarity these days and made for an UNBEATABLE price. The sleeper sofa was no easy task for delivery, but Joanne's crew was amazing in bringing it back in pieces and reassembling on the spot! Perfectly done. The quality of the upholstering work is impeccable. Joanne's team did such a good job that we now know the areas where Room & Board skimped, as Joanne's team did not skimp! They went above and beyond, and somehow the aforementioned sleeper mattress is even MORE comfortable. I really can't say enough about the job Valley Upholstering did. They should give all furniture manufacturers a Ted Talk on marketing cat-proof products in the first instance. read more

Went to his shop for pricing four months ago and he was supposed to call when he gets the fabric. Two months later called him no answer and I texted him asking about the order- he replies sending pictures of available fabrics-which means the two months went in waste. Then I pick a fabric and ask him to contact me asap when he gets the fabric. Funny... but not funny I'm still waiting for him to call or text me. Whoever doesn't believe me- I have my texts back and forth. Such a waste of my time and effort read more

Joanne was so helpful in guiding me to the right fabric choice for my chair and it came out just gorgeous. We haven't been able to use this chair for over 20 years - it's amazing to see it brought back to life. The price was a little less than I had expected and the turnaround time was good as well. Highly recommend Valley Upholstering - I would definitely go back to them again if/when the need arises. Positive experience all the way around!! read more

Their work is so exquisite, detailed, tasteful and skilled. Plus they were on time and had the most professional attitude. Gaspar is also so kind and polite and I appreciated all his communication to keep me up to date. I am beyond impressed with Valley Upholstering! I purchased these incredible chairs used. They were upholstered with very old, completely worn out fabric. I really wanted to restore them to their original look, but since I am vegan using leather was not an option. Jo painstakingly reviewed dozens of sample books with me and found the perfect faux leather. When I received the finished chairs, they looked gorgeous! But, within a few days, the faux leather was peeling. I contacted Jo, she immediately said that this was not up to Valley Upholstery's standards and assured me that they would make it right. No questions asked, Valley Upholstery picked up the chairs and took them back to reupholster them (again). Selecting the correct material was even harder the second time, but Jo never gave up or complained. My work schedule made it difficult for me to make it to their office, so Jo reviewed all of the options and mailed samples to me directly. One of them was perfect. We moved forward with the replacement selection. Valley Upholstery re-upholstered the chairs and delivered them at no extra charge. The chairs look even better than I could have imagined!! Throughout this difficult transaction, Valley Upholstery exemplified integrity and dedication to achieving an excellent result. Thank you, Valley Upholstering!! I hope to work with you again soon. read more

All I have to say is WOW! Joanne and Gaspar are truly talented at their craft and are good people; who give their best to each and every one of their projects. They care that the job is done right and go out of their way to ensure it will be exactly what you want. They have incredible attention to detail and really go the extra mile to make sure your happy. In my case, I took my white tufted headboard in to the shop to customize the sides- since they had hole slots for wings to attach onto (that I did not like). I wanted to cover these holes and never imagined it would turn out as seamless and perfect as Gaspar constructed. (Attached are some before and after pictures). I am truly beyond thankful for the work Valley Upholstering did and wouldn't trust/ go anywhere else for any upholstery needs!! Their experience and expertise is reflected in the precision of their work. Truly the best upholstery experience and the reason they have all 5 star ratings- THE ABSOLUTE BEST! I have been meaning to write this review for several months, but Joanne and the folks at Valley Upholstering did a fantastic job reupholstering a leather recliner for us. The chair needed new foam after many years of sitting, and we were ready for a new color. Joanne is a MAGICIAN! I searched for an upholster for several years for my 25plus year old couches before I found Valley Upholstering. Joanne is a Mater Craftswoman....her process is seamless, which made it very easy for me to have the look I envisioned come to fruition...We had great synergy working togather because she knows in detail what every fabric will do once its put to structure or formed into a pillow. I came with a couple of pics, but quickly fell in LOVE with a couch her husband was working on in her showroom with "Diamond tufting"...and several weeks later she created these masterpieces! I LOVE my couch and my chair. The quality of the work is phenomenal....I saw NOTHING in the stores with this kind of craftsmanship. Worth every penny...I had a custom ottoman made to complete the look. read more

So, for years I pondered, "what would I ever do if my 6 month old puppy used my Crate & Barrel ottoman as a giant chew toy?".
