I would love to say that I had great service and a wonderful meal here, but I can't. With a professional group in town from various locations all over the state we had hyped up the restaurant and the local ties to its illustrious namesake and were super excited to bring them there. Unfortunately, we could not get a seat. It wasn't because there weren't any tables, It's because they refused to take reservations and even though we called five minutes ahead after calling an hour ahead to let them know that we were coming they would not seat us. At the time that we called( literally 5 minutes out, they said there were tables available that could accommodate our group. But, when we arrived they had broken up their large tables and gave those tables away. We then were told it would be an hour and a half wait, were refused the ability to sit in their empty bar, (which easily had seating for 40+) and get served appetizers and drinks. There was no attempt to keep our business there, as a matter of fact, we felt that we were pretty much ignored, kinda like a "sucks to be you" attitude, so we left. We went to 51st State brewing, spent tons, tipped copiously and vowed to never recommend Henry's. I understand a no reservation policy, but this was a complete loss of hospitality. My husband and I just ate here, and although they were getting ready to close up early due to it being a slower snowy Wednesday night, the staff was SO beyond accommodating and nice, not to mention both of our ribeyes were cooked to absolute perfection!! We were so grateful that they were willing to stay open for us and provide not only exceptional service, but truly one of the BEST steak experiences!! Cut to the chase, for a place with steak in its name I had high expectations, especially since I was told they carried aged steaks. It wasn't until I sat down that I realized it was wet aged rather than dry aged. Big difference. Anyhow, it didn't seem like the wet aging helped much with the flavor as the steaks themselves didn't taste very beefy. Not only that, they came out medium instead of medium rare. And yes, I'm one of those folks who will judge you for ordering well done steaks. I'm kidding (but not really). I didn't send the steaks back because I'll tolerate medium rather than wasting food. Plenty of sides to choose from but whatever you do, don't choose the mashed potatoes- especially garlic mash. It's instant mashed potatoes and tastes every bit of instant and none of potato. The garlic seasoning they used was probably just garlic salt and dehydrated garlic bits which tasted so bitter. I chucked the leftovers cuz it was that bad. The French onion soup was decent, though the broth itself lacked in flavor. At least the cheese was gooey and browned on top. The mixed cocktail was decently priced and quite tasty. Overall, I'd go back for drinks and ambience. Maybe I'll try some more food, but not the steak. 3 stars for the food, but I'm giving an extra star because this area is severely lacking nice restaurants so I'm hoping this place will succeed. They just need to improve their namesake - Steaks! By the way, the steaks have prices now. It's no longer on menu as market price. Upon entering the bar area, one is greeted by a modern, chic decor, accented with historcal Ford artifacts and photos. With plenty of seating, a friendly staff, and inviting local patrons, the bar feels like home! Definitely have a look at their unique drink menu! Seperate from the bar, the restaurant treats you to a whole other experience. Much like an elegant 1940s super club, Henry's embraces the dark, moody, private ambiance. Outlets at many tables to charge your phone is a nice touch! Al Capone himself would have appreciated a dirty martini in a fine establishment such as this to accompany chef made cuisine. New place that definitely needs to work out the kinks and staffing issues. Stopped in, group of 5, this past Saturday. We were there at 640pm and didn't get seated until 8:45. We were told an hour wait. We waited outside on the patio, which was OK. We got drinks at the bar and sat out there. The ladies at the bar were swamped, but really trying. Apparently there are only 2 bar tenders and 1 was also the waitress for the patio. Instead of waiting and bothering her, we just got our own drinks from the bar. I can't stress enough, all the employees are very nice and helpful, they just need more of them. They have a full bar, with all the usual things. Don't expect any fancy beer or wine. There was a bells oktoberfest on tap, which was nice, but for a steakhouse, there isn't a wine list! The wine is cupcake brand, so don't expect much there. There also isn't a beer list or drink menu. Only appetizers are served outside. We opted not to get them, as it was just supposed to be an hour. Well we should have because it was a 2 hour wait. When we were finally given a table we ordered the fried mozzarella and chicken strips for appetizers. We devoured them because we were so hungry. Everyone at the table commented on how good the fried mozzarella and chicken strips were. They also brought bread to the table. It was very good as well. We all got NY strip steaks. When they came to the table 1 thing was noticeable immediately. Inconsistencies in the thickness of the steaks. Weird, but ok. I got a baked potato with mine, it was the smallest potato I've ever seen at a steakhouse. Others at the table got the steak fries and asparagus. The fries were good but the asparagus was so soggy. We had 1 child with us. He got the chicken strips and fries, which he liked. No kids drinks (milk or juice) and no kids cups. He was given a styrofoam cup of water, which was immediately spilled of course. So how were the steaks? Well first off. Don't get put off by the "market price" for a NY strip that is on the menu. $33 isn't a lot at all for a strip. Second.. ehh. They were OK. They were in need of seasoning. Some salt and pepper would have went a long way. Also, the temps of the steaks were all off. I ordered a medium and mine was super well done. Another person at the table ordered medium well and got med rare. It's actually the first time in a long time I used A1 on a steak because it needed flavor. The steaks all came with salad. 2 people in group ordered Caesar salads. What they got were regular salads with Caesar dressing lol. Sorry, no pics of all of this. After waiting almost 3 hours for food, once it was received there wasn't time for photos. I added some pics from their Facebook page because this page didn't have any pics. For 4 adults, 4 steaks, and a kids meal our total was $190, not including the drinks we had for 2 hours before dinner. If they can be a little more consistent with the steaks and sides, this is definitely worth it. So would we go back? YES! Options are needed in the area and this place has a lot of potential. I'm hoping some of the stuff we experienced was because they are so new and staff shortages are everywhere right now. O.. and PS... if you are wondering about masks..my group was the only ones wearing them, not even the staff. We had a kid with us that is too young to be vaccinated. Wife and I ordered the whitefish. Have eaten dish many times at many restaurants. Plus other fish dishes. They served us both fish that had barely been cooked. It was very raw. We sent back and never did a manager come out to apologize. Wife ordered ravioli next and that was average and they charged us for it. Ravioli shoukd have been comped. Poor management. read more

There was a wine list at the door this evening. The staff were very personable and familiar faces seen here. We have had burgers here when it was limited menu in the beginning and they were tasty. We chose to try the 8 oz tenderloin with a side of ravioli and a salad. The steak was very tender and not sitting in butter (A+). However, such a small portion for the 'market' price. It certainly didn't appear to be 8 oz. on the plate. I personally don't think it was worth 'market' price. The inside of the building is a must see for anyone in the area or outside the area. What a great experience! We arrived and checked in, told it would be a half hour wait. We ordered drinks at the bar, a great assortment of liquors and beer. The historical pieces from Kingsford's early days in the auto industry were incredible, like windows from the Ford plant, original wooden street signs, and blueprints and maps of the town. The food was superb! Great steaks, great assortment of sides, including standard steakhouse staples and Italian sides, and incredible French Onion soup. I ordered the ribeye and had it smothered in sauteed mushrooms, onions, and Bleu cheese with a side of gnocchi. My wife and friends went with tenderloins and ravioli. I did not find the prices to be outrageous, but I am from a larger city. Locals may find the prices a bit high, but I was not upset at two full meals and drinks coming out to $97 before tip. The service was also great. If you are ever in Kingsford/Iron Mountain, make this one of your stops! read more

We went on Saturday and we attempted to order an appetizer but they were out of 3 or 4 of the offerings. So no appetizers. We ordered our steaks, husband a tenderloin with mushrooms and soup, i ordered the prime rib with horseradish and a salad. You cannot go wrong with a salad, but my husbands soup, which was the brocolli cheese, was at best luke warm. Our food comes out and I have to ask for the horseradish for my prime rib. My prime rib was a very generous slice, but again at best luke warm and very tough. My husband forgot that he ordered mushrooms with his steak until we got the bill. The waitress was very kind, but why did she not check the ticket to make sure everything that was ordered was plated? She blamed it on the cooks, but she delivered the food. From the blazing lanterns that greet you outside the entrance, to the relics and local memorabilia on the varying textured walls... the ambiance was like no other. It has a truly upscale vibe. The owners have put so many personal touches in this place. You can tell they put their heart and soul into the place. The service is also amazing!! Our first time there, one of the owners came to our table to apologize for running out of fish and explained to us how difficult the supply chain is right now. We didn't go for fish but that was still nice of him to touch base with us. He then took the time to give us a tour and explain how and why he decorated everything. Fast forward to last weekend; the service did not disappoint!! We once again were greeted by the owner with excellent customer care. The food, wow! Excellent!
