The good: my steak was very good and cooked to my liking and the house dressing is fantastic. My old fashion was also good. The bad: the service at the bar was unfortunately the slowest we've seen in the surrounding area. There were 2 bartenders but only one was making drinks and the bar was full. The other lady was arranging bottles and would wash a glass or two and wander about. Everyone was waiting for drinks. When we were seated no one came to check on us after we received our food and we had to go and get our own drinks and also wave down the waitress for a bill and takeout containers. They certainly need more staff and better training. read more

The chicken parm and old fashioned did not disappoint!! Great service and a fun atmosphere for a cozy meal away from home.

absolutely one of the worst Italian places I've ever been. the service is absolutely horrible!!! slow, rude and just terrible. the food is mediocre at best. the salad was warm iceberg with zero flavor Italian dressing. i couldn't eat more than a few bites. the bread was the best thing of the dinner. the spaghetti was not awful but it wasn't good either. too many noodles and not nearly enough sauce. it's clear where they're cutting corners. the sausage wasn't bad. i would not recommend this to anyone traveling here. i was so hopeful and left absolutely disappointed. from the time we walked in the door to out the door was over an hour and a half. and we only ordered 1 spaghetti dinner read more

The food is always great and very friendly service. The chicken and pasta never disappoint.

Excellent food, excellent service! All bar and food Servers were very accommodating;; our food was very reasonably priced for the delish homemade scratch dishes and sauces served along with homemade crusty bread. The owner, Dwight, is great! Had a fun night there. Nice bar read more

Great local restaurant offering simple and good southern Italian fare. Large portions and reasonable prices. Highly recommend the open-face tenderloin sandwich (i had mine with a side of pasta). I did carry out, but the patrons were socially-distanced and the waitstaff were wearing masks when I picked my meal up. read more

Service wasn't great. Didn't get to sit for 30 minutes and it didn't seem busy. Never got asked for another drink.

Open faced steak was amazing cooked to perfection, the Gnocchi was amazing the garlic bread melts in your mouth. And the service was top notch this place gets 10 thumbs up read more

Romagnoli's - Leftovers, the food was impeccable! - Italian Near Me - Iron Mountain, Michigan

Most of the menu says market for pricing, but it is not clear what market price is. We did not see it posted anywhere. My filet was delicious. Absolutely yummy. The bill came and my filet was the same market price as my husband's steak and Tilapia filet. $41.00 each meal. The salad was bad, potatoes were nothing special, but the steak was Devine. Be prepared to pay whatever they are charging for "market." read more

RUN !! We left before they could even seat us. Extremely rude older guy yelled at 5 of us 50+y/o adults, across the room, because we were having a laugh. We are travellers and pay cash, proud to say that we walked out and took our cash elsewhere. A very elderly lady remarked to us, on the way out, that "He's been a mean bastard for years!" Ended up at STORHEIMS, just down the road. Excellent, friendly, family service, with a wonderful menu!! read more

Ate here twice in the week I was in Iron Mountain on family business, we were a large party of 12 or 15. I won't go into great detail, but on the first night, the waitress forgot to come back for my drink order. I ordered the garlic bread, and when she brought it to the table she placed it on the table (we were a large party of 15) in front of other people, who promptly ate it. I was talking to someone and didn't notice. No big deal, I laughed about it and asked for another order, but on the bill they charged me for 2 orders. I told them I didn't receive the first order, blah blah blah in the end I simply took it ($5) out of the tip. I looked forward to the meal so I could talk with my relatives, but honestly, it was so dark I had no idea who I was sitting next to. It was hard to have a conversation with someone across the table, as I couldn't see him or her. The portions are ridiculously huge, we are both big eaters and both had to get take-away boxes. I would prefer they make smaller portions that taste better. I had the "Italian Holiday" which is a huge platter of various pasta, covered with 2 gallons of sauce. Again, waaay too much for 1 person, but that explains why so many of the other people eating there were morbidly obese. Pasta was good, wife had chicken alfredo, no complaints. Son had a huge T-Bone, which was about 3 feet across. Ordered the Red Moscato, but the glass was pretty small compared to other places I've been, and for $5. Should be a bit bigger, imo. Total bill for $90. The second night we visited, it was so dark in the place it was ridiculous. I had to take my iphone out to read the menu, and when the waitress came over, she couldn't see the order form. Finally I told her to go tell the owner to turn the effin' lights up so we can see each other. There is no dress-code, and I could see the guys at the table next to us; one was wearing a tank-top wife beater, and the other a sleeveless t-shirt, real classy. Final verdict: Food tastes ok, no complaints. Portions are ridiculously huge, they need to cut back and focus more on quality and presentation, and not trying to impress with size. I live in a big city, and have lived in many in the past, and have vacationed to Italy several times. I know good Italian food, and no where have they tried to impress with portions 4-times the size required for a meal. I would prefer one great bowl of pasta that tastes great..etc. The waitresses don't seem surprised; halfway through the meal they asked all of us if we would be taking the rest home. We would go back, but honestly, we would order one meal and split it. Waitresses were nice and professional. I also agree with the one reviewer who took a photo; the water bottle things they use to serve water are disgusting and need to be replaced. They are plastic, not even glass. I wouldn't use them in my own home, much less a business. I know the UP has hard water and it stains dishes, but it can't cost that much to replace them. Also, candles on the table would be nice, since it IS an Italian restaurant. read more

Oh my, where to begin... The service was terrible. Seems like a bunch of teenagers who know nothing about serving, the menu, the history of the place, etc... Took much time to get drink orders, drinks, food ordered, food, then check. They just kept disappearing into the back, never to return, and the restaurant was only about half full. The food was just plain gawd-awful. I'm from California where Italian and Mexican foods are everywhere, so crappy food doesn't stand a chance. But Michigan is close enough to Chicago that SOMEONE should be able to teach the chef how to cook authentic Italian food! I had Gnocchi Parmigiana. The gnocchi was good. The red sauce was watery and tasted like someone scraped the sauce off the spaghetti-O's and added water. A TON of cheese, but mostly tasted like mozzarella, not a "combination", so tasted bland. The "sausage" was like someone blended a sort-of Italian sausage with some jimmy dean breakfast sausage...little to no Italian seasonings or flavor. The whole dish reminded me of something my friend's Welsh mother served us as "Italian" back in the day. BLECH! Salad = Head lettuce with their "Italian Roquefort" which tasted like Wishbone dressing with some blue cheese thrown in (paid extra for that little gem). And if that bread was a fresh loaf, you'd do better getting a baguette from the Piggly Wiggle in Wisconsin! Iron Moutntain, wake up! This is NOT Italian food. This is a 1950s housewife's rendition of an Italian dinner using Spaghetti-Os, head lettuce with Wishbone Italian salad dressing, and Wonderbread! read more

Stopped by on a color tour. We had to wait 45 minutes get a table, but were seated in the lounge received our drinks and menus. Our orders were taken ahead of time so our salads and a fresh loaf of Italian bread were waiting for us when we got to our table. I had the Roman Holiday and my wife had the perch dinner. It was amazing! I could tell all the pasta was handmade and so was the sausage and meatballs. Enough to feed us lunch the next day. And the price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity. We'll be back! read more

Our mission: cross over the WI border to MI. Check. Next on the list - eat. Where? Romagnoli's! So, after essentially driving through the whole town of Iron Mountain in search of a place to grab dinner, we settled on this place. Why? - the parking lot was pretty packed compared to the other joints in town! Yup. The décor and atmosphere of this place is quite dingy and dark in all honesty - this lack of lighting explains my absence of pictures :( , but it did have quite the extensive menu. Sooo many chicken dishes, plus pastas, fish, steak, ribs, and their specialty - broasted (fried) chicken. Our party dabbled into basically all these listed categories and there were really no complaints. Perhaps that's because everyone was starving; nevertheless, this place is A-OK if you're in the area and in need of food. read more

We thought the bartender was very personable- (Though the drinks were quite weak) We ordered the walleye dinner and a chicken salad. The baked potato was cold, there was no malt vinegar that is usually served with fish. The salad was the inexpensive grocery store bagged salad. The chicken in the inexpensive salad was spongy and flavorless- inedible! The bread was the only redeeming portion of my meal! The experience was quite disappointing and for $37. plus tip we won't revisit next year when we pass through Iron Mountain. read more

Pros: Fresh loaf of bread. Warm and delicious. My broasted chicken was excellent. Cons: Blah Sphagetti and sauce. Although typical UP Italian. The salad is blah too, but also typical of UP Italian. The waitresses seemed fine, although the unrecommended reviews seem consistently nasty. I don't understand why Yelp unrecommends reviews, they seem true to me. The decor is dated, but what isn't in the U.P.? Part of its' charm is that nothing changes. read more

Walked in with my family. Just arrived in town from a 6 hour drive. Half of the restaurant was empty.. nobody welcomed us. Very disappointing. read more

Let me start off by saying the service was incredible! If I could rate that alone it would be 5 stars!! The food however, very mediocre. The entire time it felt as if we were stuck in an 80's Italian/American restaurant, which in itself would be ok, if that's what the goal was. Portion sizes are huge, and it would be a great value for money if the food was worth eating. The ribs were very dry, salad heavily overdressed, pasta over cooked, and sauce bland. The restaurant and menu needs a makeover, while keeping the same excellent staff! read more

My cousin recommended the restaurant and I looked at the reviews, which were not very good. Our service was great and the food very good and plenty of it. The place was a clean and everything nice and hot. I would recommend it highly! Tom & Dawn from Tucson Arizona read more

The food was barely ok and the bill was outrageous! I for one will never be stepping foot into this establishment again!

So disappointed. Where to start?? The old fashioned at the bar was too strong without bitters. We were unable to use the WiFi since the bartender told us the password was a secret and even she wasn't allowed to know it. We waited nearly 45 minutes for our table. Our salads consisted of iceberg lettuce, over saturated with dressing-poor presentation. Our loaf of bread was doughy and raw in spots. I had the ravioli and my daughter had the spaghetti and meatballs. They were both tasteless and bland, resembling Spagettios-type quality.... no spice, no garlic and the meat tasted like it came from a can. My ravioli was not fully cooked. The wait staff never really even made eye contact..There was no customer service. Against my better judgement, my daughter left a tip. Yuck. read more

I have to laugh at hideous loud mouthed witches like Angela D. Obsessed with her Montessori-schooled brat apparently. She can't even name good restaurants in her home town of Marquette. It's Iron Mountain, MI. Great steaks, good pasta, nice drinks and the service is fine if you are polite, courtesy is returned. I eat and have eaten at the best restaurants all over the world, The French Laundry, 11 Madison Park, 21, Alinea, etc. Romagnoli's is just fine for a small town in the UP. Good food. read more

Atmosphere was great. We enjoyed all of the staff, they were attentive and very efficient. Drinks were pricey but good. We had the ribs and chicken and the Italian cod. Everything was delicious and large portions, including the salad, cold and crispy. The Italian bread served with meal was to die for. Hot, crispy and delicious. My only concern was the cost of the drinks, nowhere in the area charge as much. read more

I have family in the U.P. and I've been visiting for the past 20 years from Chicago. Some of the restaurants in this area change over the years so I'm never quite sure where to go for a great dinner if I forget to ask my fam for recommendations. (It would help if the local Yoopers would start Yelping more so I'd have a buncha reviews to read!) But I always know what to expect at Romagnolis so we hit it up for dinner during most of our visits up north. It's a little like walking back into 1979 as far a decor goes but let's just call it quaint. The servers are always friendly, helpful, and fast. I've never ordered onion rings at an italian restaurant but I heard they were good and they are SO good!! The salad is served up pretty basic in a bowl stuffed with lettuce just the way my italian grandpa used to serve it up and the house dressing is great. Okay, now listen up.... I ALWAYS order the gnocci. It is all about the homemade gnocci here. Creamy little carby pillows of love I tell you! I have never ordered anything else because why ruin a good thing. You can just order it as a side if you want but why? One strange thing is that they really didn't have any desserts. Wah!?? The server apologized and said they had a small scoop of ice cream but that was all they offered. I've never been to an Italian restaurant in my life without cannoli and tiramisu! I am not sure if this has changed since then... but I hope so. Last time we were there, this summer, we weren't asked if we wanted dessert so we assumed they still don't do it. We left and went out for some Ice Cream Station! read more

I've always liked Romagnoli's Italian food but the last time I ate there we were rushed through our meal by the waitress that wanted to close the kitchen. My gnocchis were tough - certainly not melt in your mouth that I have had in the past. I recommend going earlier than a half hour before they close, in hopes of getting good service and food. FYI: Expect the decor to be dark and dated. The owners set the rules and you follow them - especially if they don't know you. The locals support this place, and the owners and staff are best described as "honey badgers". read more

You need to remember you are in Iron Mtn when critiquing Romagnolis. This is a 4 star supper club in IM, but would be a 2-3 star in any large city. Bar is enjoyable and has a nice atmosphere. Dining area is small, but makes an effort in Itallian decor... Though a bit dated. Food has it's ups and downs. Salad is a half pound of plain lettuce in a bowl. Too much and not appetizing. The pasta is good overall. I enjoyed the Roman Feast, but it is home-made pasta with a simple meat sauce. Service was inattentive and slow this night,. Perhaps that's just the pace here. Overall, this is one of the better choices in Iron Mountain. read more

Wholeheartedly four stars provided you are able endure some initial inefficiency. This is an old style Italian style restaurant and they follow a certain pace. You might have to assert your requests beyond what you'd think is customary. (Heavy handed but sadly necessary here) The food is solid hearty Italian cuisine and they have all the drinks and spirits you'd expect. Consider yourself lucky if Chris is your waiter as he's very on point. No hesitation in recommending, but there are some inherent issues as aforementioned. read more

This place is a real mom's and pop's Italian restaurant, old fashioned and rustic-like a genuine UP establishment. The pasta was cooked right-al dente as I had their Italian Holiday (ravioli, sausage meatball). The food was unfortunately bland-little flavor as my pasta meat sauce needed some kick maybe some pepper or fresh garlic. I asked for some spices and garlic powder I wanted to leave in a positively note. Kinda confusing they as labeled themself authentic Italian but emphasized their fried chicken and ribs-huh? read more

My fiancé and I dined here for a late dinner on July 5th this past weekend. Since we were not very hungry, we decided to share a meal. When it came time to order the waitress told us that we were not allowed to share a meal per management rules. I explained that we were not that hungry and found it unnecessary to order separate meals that would end up in a doggy bag. I was quick thinking and I said... fine. I will have a side salad and he will have the steak and ribs combo. After we ordered our food, the waitress came to take us to our table. We got up from the bar and by the time we got to the dining room, we couldn't find our waitress because she walked so fast to our table. .... I was always taught to walk with my customer no mater how slow they walked.. She finally came back to find us and then took us to our table. While waiting for our meals and even after our meals were served, our waitress never checked with us to see if we needed anything or if the food was good. She only returned to our table to deliver our check. We paid at the bar and told the bartender that we were very disappointed and may not return. It irritates me when a restaurant tells you when you can share a meal or not. I would understand if it were a buffet, but this is not a buffet place or even an all you can eat meal. read more

This is the type of supper club I experienced years ago as my mother worked at a similar restaurant. The atmosphere is warm, the waitresses were excellent. Our order was placed and served very quickly. I had the all you could eat broiled cod, my wife steak and a small plate of spaghetti. The food overall was very good, the steak was juicy and cooked to the medium raw that we ordered. One setback was the steamed vegetables, and this is just my preference, I'm not a fan of frozen vegetables. Overall, very good choice for dinner. read more

Romagnoli's food was barely edible. They have a huge sign outside advertising "homemade pasta". I love fresh made noodles, so was excited to try this place out after our go-to Italian place in town closed. When I ordered some sort of pasta at Romagnoli's, they brought me the cheapest store bought noodles they could find, over cooked. Since I couldn't eat the meal it was so disgusting, I said to the waitress I thought the sign said they were homemade. She replied "they are homemade, the chef boils them in the back". I didn't even reply, obviously we were on different planets when it came to the definition of homemade. Never going back! read more

I'm not sure what anyone is talking about on here but the service here was excellent. At 6 on a Friday night every server constantly met our every need. I ordered a glass of Riesling and my husband ordered a whiskey and coke. All pretty standard. He ordered the 16 oz filet and a baked potato. All good. I ordered the broasted chicken and spaghetti. Both were good as well. The loaf of bread they brought with our meal was amazing and the garlic bread was awesome. The best part....it was so cheap. I know we are used to eating in Chicago where it's a bit more expensive, however this was a steal for the amount of food we got! We would definitely come back to this restaurant. read more

Not too shabby. For 4 dinners, 4 cocktails, a bottle of wine (get the Chianti in a basket) and be out for less than $100 w/tip is a pretty good deal.
