Staying a few nights in Albany and went on a loca'ls recommendation. Food was great, Chefs Choice Grouper. Skeptical when I pulked up because it's in a strip but the interior was really nice, old school bar and you can tell the restaurant has been there a long time and there's obviously a reason. They were extremely busy tonight. Our waitress was so apologetic at how long it was taking for the food to come out. Ordered spinach dip to start. It came out 2 hours after we ordered it (seriously)! After we ordered, my soup came out ~2.5 hours after I ordered it. Fir my entree, my asparagus came out 10 minutes before my (supposed) to be blackened grouper (looked like trout though). Beginning to end was 3 hours for our table of 4. To top it all off, the two yahoos in the band were extremely too loud! What once was a nice place to go with family and friends so you could talk and catch up, has turned into a cheap bar with overpriced food. We will definitely reconsider before going back. read more

This was our 2nd time here. We had favorable memories of the first visit so thought we would celebrate our anniversary there. My $43 steak was good. It was accompanied by a side salad of bagged lettuce with some cheese and a half of a tomato cut in two pieces. The garlic mashed potatoes were decent. Absolutely zero cares given to presentation, looked like it was thrown on the plate. My husband had the "famous" stuffed grouper that had scallop sauce on top. The sauce was not flavorful and his side of asparagus consisted of 4 overly salted stalks. His Jack and cokes were as expected. I was surprised to pay $3.00 for my soda water with lime. We were hoping for so yummy dessert but they only had pre-made cheesecake and key lime pie. We passed and went out for yogurt at TCBY which did not disappoint. Tried this place on a whim. Pulled up and looked a bit like a hole in the wall. Walked in to live music on a Thursday...mighta even been karaoke. Ordered dinner and drink. Great pour on rye whiskey neat and ribeye w black and blue was surprisingly good. Ordered med rare and was a but rare but good enough to finish. Staff was very attentive. I was not in the mood for anything in particular, so I went with the shrimp (shrimp gandy) appetizer, that was lightly fried and served with sauce atop of mixed greens...lets just say it was so good that I ordered another serving! Lol! I think there were about 6 shrimp on the plate for around $14-15...although yummy a bit on the pricey side. I Also enjoyed a nice red blend from the bar. Customer service was just ok. Excellent dinner Excellent service I had the steak tips app and a salad. Steak tips were cooked perfectly and tender. Blue cheese, onion straws, and glaze complimented the steak perfectly. Small place but a gold mine. Fiancé had the filet, asparagus and pot. soup. I had the fish tacos. Everything was delicious. Atmosphere was great, table by the door opened the door for us and the table next to us asked to hold our baby while we eat. Owner was super nice and touched every table. Probably my favorite place to eat in Albany. A little pricey but the food is great, portions are large, and the staff friendly. The ribeye alfredo and the country fried ribeye are addicting. Make sure you do yourself a favor and get the rolls too! This is our go to place on date night. I just wish we had found it sooner. read more

It's a cozy little spot so you have to be comfortable in close quarters & hearing the next table's conversations. We ordered zucchini chips as appetizer which were good, but portion was very small & sliced really thin. Had the grilled stuffed grouper with veggies which was perfect. Cooked perfectly & portion size was on spot. Our waiter, Charlie was very attentive even though he had several tables to work. I read the reviews and decided to take a chance. Fun vibe when you walk into the place. The shrimp is fresh prepared and the sweet potato chips with honey/ blue cheese dip was like a yummy dessert. The asparagus was too thin so was a little tough but the seasoning was good. Finally, I asked for a virgin drink and the bartender came up with a pineapple smoothie that was very tasty. Nice restaurant with a very homey vibe. Everyone seemed to know each other, which creates a very comfortable environment. We got a few appetizers, which were all pretty good. Appetizers overall were pretty average, nothing that really stood out. For the entree, I went with the country fried steak, which was huge. You'll definitely get a good return for your money with this dish. Overall, a pretty good dish. Would recommend it to anyone that ends up here. Good experience overall. Exceptional food and service! Must try the fried green tomatoes topped w/ crab meat and scallop sauce as an app. The grilled grouper and NY Strip are both tasty as well. Really great that you can request your steak to be cooked several different methods like my personal favorite, Pittsburgh style. I had forgotten how good this place was...we haven't been to Henry's in quite some time and came here tonight for my wife's birthday...Terry Brown, the manager is a gem and is always on point...we had the country fried ribeye which is always consistent and AMAZING as well as one of the specials which was Pork Marsala...I was blown away by the pork!!...it was tender and the sauce was just BOOM!!...sooo delicious!!...one of our friends also had the shrimp and grits and it was really good too...don't forget about this place...the atmosphere is great, the people are great and the food is amazing!...we will definitely be back soon!!... read more

We are from Marietta area. Made reservations for 6pm for our party of 15, but only 11 made it. Placed our order and waited 90 minutes before some of our food was delivered. Took 10 minutes for everyone to get served. We enquired several times as to what the problem was only to be told everybody showed up at once. Never offered any appetizers or bread while waiting. Watched a party of 4 come in order and get served ahead of us. Waitress was nice but the food was nothing to write home about. The owner/ manager walked around but never came by to speak with us. The five star rating is well deserved because this restaurant, in a humble setting, absolutely delivered on all fronts: Service, Taste, Selection (both food and drink), and Price. I arrived early. Really early. I was greeted promptly and had a beer in my hand within a minute. The service was really friendly. When the server was describing the steak to me, the head cook actually came out to shed more light on the process. That's something I don't normally see--and I was impressed. The bar manager, Terry, keeps everyone happy. A crowd had formed on the deck as I was dining and Terry knew everyone AND what they drank before they asked. My fried green tomatoes (topped with scallop sauce, crabmeat, and bacon) were unbelievable, as was the "Pittsburgh" style ribeye that I ate. You have to pay extra to have any seasoning added . $2-$3 to just have your steak seasoned . Was over 30 minutes before our order was taken . Two people in my party ordered steak mediums well and they both came out burnt on the edges and very well done. An older waitress and older gentleman ordered with my guest and then said you want another very nasty attitudes. The customer service was unacceptable, the 9 of us will not be coming back and will not recommend this place. We also felt like we were treated as outsiders not so welcome and we saw what looked like regulars coming through the door. Came in for dinner and got the fried green tomatoes, 16oz new york strip, and my colleague got the tuscan chicken pasta. The green tomatoes were fantastic, they went very well with the crab meat. The NY strip was good, cooked to a perfect medium rare but was a bit salty for my taste. However, my colleague's tuscan chicken pasta was mediocre at best. It sat in a puddle of broth and was incredibly greasy. Service was good, and our waitress was attentive to our needs. Ambiance is nice in here, plenty of TV's decorating the walls. My salad if you can call it that as well xtremely small with a couple of half slices of tomato salad some spring greens onion and croutons, the iceberg lettuce was rusted, even the mediocre chains don't serve rusted lettuce.. now I ordered the shrimp Alfredo, the shrimp and broccoli were cooked nicely, the Alfredo sauce should have been called thin watery Alfredo soup and under seasoned, as for the pasta just damn so over cooked and served warm not nice and hot.
