Came here at the recommendation of my mom who advised that this is a popular spot for Boeing machinists. My husband and I ordered: 3 apple fritters 3 old fashioned donuts 1 coconut topped donut 1 bottle of orange juice Total: $11.26 The apple fritters are probably the highlight of this place. They were soft and warm. Tasted really fresh and had lots of apples in them. And by the way, they are huge! Service was good. We were greeted by the nice gentleman behind the counter who was also efficient (there was a long line behind us and he was working by himself). Will come back if my husband craves apple fritters again. Unless you like burnt confections, the doughnuts here are bad across the board. Surprisingly, given their burnt exteriors, the doughnuts' one saving grace is that they are (mostly) undercooked if anything inside. It seems like an easy fix, but Henry's Donut needs to learn to turn down their fryers and leave the doughnuts in longer if they want to produce good ones and more assuredly meet food sanitization guidelines (see section on fritters below). As always, I sampled a representative variety to give the shop every chance to impress me. Here is a summary of what I found. The glazed raised doughnut was soft and chewy. Flavor-wise, the burnt nature added a little bit of interest and it was not too sweet, but the burnt flavor did not grant the doughnut that magical, nutty flavor of browned butter. The cruller was roughly average, being soft and moist inside with a crispy glaze and a soft bottom. The flavor was sweet and slightly rich. One saving grace of my trip to Henry's Donut was the cream in the Boston cream, which was only slightly sour. Otherwise, the doughnut was bitter from its chocolate and burnt exterior. The chocolate was rich and reasonably good, but this doughnut did not need to be more bitter. Similarly, the maple bar bitter, though in this case the maple glaze helped to mask that fact. While not tasting burnt, the buttermilk bar was so dry that it was like eating dust and was definitively the worst doughnut from this shop. In contrast with the buttermilk bar, the old fashioned was soft and only slightly dry inside. Its petal shape was way underdeveloped, but old fashioneds are hard to get right and the flavor was rich and sweet, so this is still one of the better old fashioneds out there. The apple fritter was weird. First off, it was huge. The second thing I noticed was that the top was badly burnt. Surprisingly though, the bottom was cooked just right and inside was nearly raw. Given that the inside was nearly raw and tasted bitter from way over-rising, it may have actually *been* raw with the yeast still living and the eggs not cooked. This probably is not a major health concern, but be warned. Also, the fritter was quite soft and moist (obviously), but had no crispy edges. At least there was plenty of apple mixed in. Henry's Donut serves a couple of adequate doughnuts and a bunch of poor ones. The service is adequate, but not welcoming. Even at its low prices, it is difficult to justify eating food from here. read more

Donuts are ok however customer service needs a great deal of work. I was a repeat customer however after today's experience I will not be going back. Entered the store and there was a woman behind the counter, didn't acknowledge me until I asked for help. Ordered 4 donuts and wanted them in a box as they usually pack them into a kid sized lunch bag. She said no and grabbed a bag. I again requested a box and she said it would be 50 cents; six donuts earn the coveted box. I again said I wanted a box and told her I never had to pay for a box in the past. She got very loud about the 50 cents so I added 1 more donut and again I earned the 6 DONUTS IN A BOX at a volume that was more than shocking. I then told her just put them in a f-ing box and didn't pay much attention to her after that. $7.83 earned me 2 maple bars and 3 glazed cake donuts.......in a box. I don't drop by often enough to critique "fresh" and "not so fresh," but when I got some donuts there on a Sunday night, they were GOOOOOD. My favorites are Maple Bars and Apple Fritters, and they were tasty. They are open 24hrs, and rumor has it they tend to be very busy in the wee hours of the morning. If you simply feel like going to a small family-owned donut shop instead of the grocery store for donuts, just drop in here. Don't expect a fancy place or anything; it's just a nice treat. read more

We usually love this place. But after today we will never return. The lady was in the back for at 10 minutes not even acknowleding us. Finally she came out but still didn't say anything. We ordered a dozen donuts. Before we could even tell her what dozen we wanted, the lady behind the counter started putting the small cake donuts in. We stopped her and asked for a couple other ones. We only got to pick a few. She was so rude and dismissive. The donuts aren't cheap and we didn't come here to pay for a dozen nasty cake donuts!!! We wanted to pick our own. We know some of the other ones cost more.. we still want to pick our own. The lady was so rude and she mashed them in this small box and put the maple bar upside down. All the maple frosting came off. The box could barely close but she mashed it in. We will never be returning to this place with poor customer service!!!! However, every time we go the people are so rude. I have been overcharged the last few times I've gone here. Many of their employees speak limited English and we can't really communicate about how they randomly ring up charges. There is no rhyme or reason to how they figure prices. This morning my kid and I picked out a dozen donuts for the family, and when we got home and opened the box, there were only 8 donuts (what happened to the others?) and we were charged almost $13. We were the only customers at that time, so it's not like they were super busy and made a mistake. I went in today expecting terrible service and some crabby Korean guy. But I was greeted by a nice Asian youth who greeted me, took my order promptly, and even pointed out that I was leaving without my donuts (facepalm). Each donut is $1 if you buy 'em separately, so buy them by the dozen. It's a lot cheaper that way. I got a sugar glazed and a dark chocolate cruller. Really, really good. The glazed was super fluffy and delicate, and most importantly, it wasn't too sweet. The cruller was a surprise-- remarkably moist and flavorful. Be sure to visit. I went here the other night with my kids and the person working was so incredibly rude. He threw our donuts down on the counter instead of handing us our donuts. He looked very annoyed. The apple fritters were burned as well. My 16 year old daughter went back in a 2nd time bc she forgot to get a donut and he tried to scam her out of a dollar. She gave him $3 to pay for one donut and he only handed her back change. He proceeded to argue with her and then he finally took a dollar out of the tip jar and dropped it on the counter for her. This place is pretty solid for multiple reasons. First they're very car meet friendly, a meet is held there every week so it's great to drop by. Second guess what!! Open 24/7.. Yeah exactly donuts around the clock. They have great donuts! The door to the kitchen is open and right there so you can actually see how the donuts are made most of the time! Prices are VERY fair, especially since I like the basic stuff so I ordered 2 glazed twists and a water and the total was 3$ which to me is very affordable compared to some donut shops. The shop is small but very clean, and despite the fact that the cashier and I had a little bit of a language gap he was very friendly and after waiting for a bit I was able to get my order. My only pet peeve is despite that my donuts were delicious they were cold. If I can come in at the right time and get fresh ones I know I'll bump this review up to 5 stars. read more

First time coming in since I've driven past it so many times, and it's no wonder I've never stopped here. First, the customer service was lacking. I think like everyone's saying in here it's got a lot to do with language barrier. Or, maybe these people just hate their jobs. No "hi, how are you?" or "what can I get you?"; the lady behind the counter just stares at you and waits for you to mouth out your order. Second, there was a fly buzzing by the window. This lady serving me reaches over (sans gloves), and kills the fly by pressing it against the window....seriously?! Good thing she was using a pair of tongs to get the donuts instead of tissue paper, but either way I was grossed-out. Third, I order a half a dozen donuts for work and she shoves them all in a brown lunch bag! WTF? Not even a box so the donuts aren't all squished inside!! And mind you I went there on a hot and humid day. Needless to say, when I got home the donuts were all stuck together and the icing from each donut melted and soaked-up the bag. I'm not sure how this establishment got an award from KOMO for their donuts. I should've known not to go in when I saw their windows full of fingerprints, like it's never been wiped in months, and then stopped placing my order once the lady squashed the fly with her bare hands. GROSS! Not sure how this place gets more than 2 stars because they do not deserve it. First and last for me to go to this place. NEVER again. read more

Best donuts...period. They have the best Maple Bars i have ever eaten and i eat one at least once a week...no joke. All of their donuts are fantastic though as they are fresh, fluffy, and not greasy at all. They have cake donuts, yeast donuts, apple fritters, and more! Every time i walk in I can see the family working hard making fresh donuts in the back. My recommendations: Maple Bar, Raspberry Jelly Filled, Lemon Filled, and anything with chocolate on it. The donuts, oh lord the donuts here. Amazing doesn't even cover it. Everyone who knows me knows I'm a maple bar addict. The first time I had a maple bar here, I was hooked. The other donut flavors are delicious as well. Good price for a dozen donuts, especially being as fresh and fantastic as they are. The fact that they're open 24 hours is just the icing on the donut (Ha) for me. Many a late night donut run on weekends have happened since we moved just down the street from here. I had a mild moment of depression a few weeks ago when I realized when we move to Marysville in a month we wouldn't have Henry's anymore. That is, until we came across another location not far from our new home. Hopefully that one is just as great as this one. If not, I'll just have to drive all the way to Mukilteo to get my donut fix. Not a huge fan of Henry's donuts. I do appreciate them being open 24/7. I came around midnight to purchase donuts and there was a mini car festival/meet up going on in the parking lot so parking was difficult. The group seemed to be a bunch of local teens and young adults. When I entered the store no one greeted me or came from the back of the store. The other customers had to call out to the bakers in the back to help us. The employee came out with a mask covering his mouth (surgeon/doctors office mask), not sure if this was used while making the donuts in the back. Just a little unsettling. Donuts were good, nothing amazing. May give them another shot during the daytime hours. read more

Awesome donuts, terrible service. When we walked in around 10pm the dude sort of smiled and said hi, but the second my roommate started to ask him a couple questions about the donuts he changed expressions and gave us some serious stink-eye...he didn't seem to speak much English and he kept on ignoring/misunderstanding my friend's questions...okay, whatever, we just came here for donuts. We ended up getting a dozen different ones for 10 bucks and even though my friend dropped 2 bucks in the tip jar we got no acknowledgement, no smile, nothing. That guy just had a look that said "I want you people out of here"... I just felt like giving that dude a hug. Almost every review mentions cold, unfriendly service. Why are they so unhappy looking?
