Hungry Henry! You better be one if you're going to grab a bite here. The portions are large, and I'm not complaining, you'll definitely get your money's worth here. Which is always a good feeling. They have quality with their great quantity as well, and I can't think of a single time I was displeased with the service. My only issue, the reason I avoided 5 stars, is the location. You will have to pay for a parking garage or street parking if you're driving downtown to eat at Henry's, but really it's worth it. I would most definitely suggest this to a friend. read more

Loved this place! Went for a quick breakfast before heading back on the road. Food was quick and the portions were great. There are a lot of choices and it's easy to customize your meal (I don't eat pork and there were plenty of substitutes). Really liked the vibes and the food was yummy. I give this place 4 stars not because it is the most amazing food I have ever had in the world (it's not), but because it has great DINER food. Great DINER breakfasts. When a place has the word DINER in it, you know you are in for homestyle, greasy, buttery, not-good-for-you food. If you expect anything else, you're silly. I have spent many a morning - well, early afternoon, really - hungover in this diner during my college days. Nothing takes care of the aches and pains from a long night of partying like eggs, bacon/ham/sausage and home fries. I have to agree with some of the other reviews - the staff is not always super-helpful or super-happy. But they do their job well enough that I get my food and coffee and I am able to eat it and enjoy it. That's all I really need. :) read more

The restaurant doesn't really get old. It is one of the few places in Vermont that pulls off the classic diner look incredibly well. For the first time I went to a restaurant in the afternoon when it was compleatly packed! The service was quick and great. I had an american cheese omelet with home fries and rye toast and my dad had a ham and swiss cheese omelet with home fries and an english muffin. My dad wasn't crazy about his omelet and while mine was pretty good it lacked that special something. However, the toast was great and the home fries were some of the best I've had in a long time (both dishes were between $7-$8). Stopped by here on an early Saturday when I was visiting Burlington and had a delicious breakfast. What was most noteworthy was the portion size. I had eggs and sausage, and was pleasantly surprised to have three large sausage links on my plate with the eggs, potatoes, and biscuit. Everything was fresh, not greasy at all, and the sausages had a nice spicy flavor. The service here was friendly and efficient. Hmmm place really isn't that good. Heres why. I went there for the Vermonter skillet per good yelp review my buddy got eggs Benedict. Food came out scary fast like 2 minutes after we ordered it. Good service or red flag? Unfortunately the later was true. The "skillet" was simply eggs over easy (which were smashed up and cooked thru no runny yolk) corned beef hash (not bad) and lame homefries which were mushy on the outside and hard on inside and looked like they came from a box. All this pre-cooked breakfast concoction was served in a warmed skillet. It was glaringly apparent that the food was NOT cooked in the skillet but just placed in one for show. It was also super greasy I could only eat half of it. Eggs benedict was just ok. The hollandaise was canned for sure. Same lame messed up homefries. Ham was supposed to be canadian bacon but was really just a round piece of salty ham. Overall pretty disappointing. Kinda pricey for sub standard diner fare. Service was decent but waitress kinda just left us alone which was ok with us because I didn't want her to ask "So how is everything?" Because I would have probably lied and said "Just fine." Lucky Next Door makes a damn good authentic piping hot skillet using fresh local ingredients. I'm heading there next time sorry Henry's. read more

I have been meaning to go here since I first visited Burlington but for some reason that I cannot explain I didn't go in. Having been for a visit today I cannot understand why I didn't go in before. This place is awesome. For someone coming from the UK seeing this small authentic American diner is a great experience. The staff are very nice and helpful and the food is superb. Everything seems to run like clockwork and you can feel that the staff enjoy their job which makes for a nice atmosphere I felt very much at home and loved every minute of my experience. This is one of my favorite spots in Burlington, pre and mid-pandemic. The service is so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The space is so comforting and prioritize social distancing in their seating arrangements. I can't believe I've lived in Burlington for almost a year and I haven't tried this place yet. Awesome breakfast food. If you find yourself looking at over an hour wait at some of the bigger restaurants in town come check out Henry's. We got counter seats in 10 min. I got the philly cheese steak omelet which was delicious and filling. My wife got the vegetarian eggs Benedict. Also great. Hannah helped us choose what we wanted and her recommendations were spot on: The Eggs Benedict are the best I've ever had - there are a half dozen varieties of Benedicts to choose from! The pancakes are amazing also. Sitting at the counter I was able to chat up the waitresses a bit and it was obvious that they all loved working there. He ate it all except for the hash brown casserole. While I really loved the casserole (cheesy goodness), he was not a fan. Our waitress, Emily, was terrific.
