We stopped by Henry's Cafe over the Christmas weekend and enjoyed their small town country cafe feel. As a breakfast lover, I know all too well how such a simple meal can be destroyed by overcooking eggs, over salting, under toasting etc. I had the Eggs Benedict and found the poached eggs to be properly cooked and the hollandaise sauce satisfactory. I'm not an expert on this dish mind you, but for the money I thought it was good. My girlfriend went with the French Toast and it was good as well. Overall, Henry's Cafe delivers with friendly staff, endless coffee warm ups and good food at a reasonable price. We'll be back next time we're in town to visit family. read more

Stopped in Henry's Cafe for lunch during a visit to Tehachapi. Found it on Yelp and ordered the "2x4" breakfast (they serve breakfast & lunch together) and was really impressed. The quality of food was apparent and the preparation was top notch. Eggs were cooked to perfection. Bacon was too and it was of good caliber. The pancakes literally melt in your mouth. I'm not a huge pancake person but I couldn't stop eating these! Waitstaff was friendly & attentive. Highly recommend for breakfast. read more

Driving through on our way back from Nevada. Looked at Yelp fora place to eat lunch. After reading the reviews about this place, I just had to try the Chicken Fried Steak... The cafe was full of locals, and it reminded me of the cafes I used to go to as a kid. The food was wonderful! I got the cfs with eggs, hash browns, & a biscuit. Everything was soooo good! My husband had the French Dip with potato salad and he thought it was great also. The potato salad was homemade and so good that he wouldn't even give me a bite, darn it. In the future we will stop at Henry's every time we travel through Tehachapi. I highly recommend Henry's Cafe!!! read more

A nice quiet place for breakfast or lunch. The prices are great, especially when you consider that similar fare costs 10% more in generic diners like Denny's or IHOP. I had a slight issue with my order, where I paid extra for something but had serious doubts about whether I got what I asked for. What I had asked for was only 99 cents more than the regular amount, and I thought that the waitress could have easily comped me that since I don't think the order was filled right. She didn't though. Bad customer service if you ask me, especially for something that was only 99 cents. Keep in mind, this is not about the dollar, but about the question I had and the likelihood that I didn't get what I ordered. Additionally, two of the wait-staff were having a pretty loud conversation about the customers behind a short wall (where I was seated) by the kitchen. I didn't catch all of it, but it seems that customers don't need to know that the people at table seven split their check then someone didn't pay or the tip wasn't good... whatever. That conversation should be held where no one can hear it, if you are even going to have it. I want to give this place 4 stars because the food and value are both good. I can't bring myself to do it for the reasons listed above. read more

Went into Henry's Cafe today with the husband and kids a little after 1pm because the reviews on yelp. The place was packed and we only had a short 5 minute wait until a table was ready. We had a super Sweet waitress and the food was delicious and enough to fill you up with maybe a little left overs. We had 3 adult meals and 1 child menu meal all under $40 with a 20% tip. I would definitely come here again and I definitely recommend Henry's Cafe. read more

Small, cute mom-n-pop's cafe. Excellent service! I ordered a Bran Muffin and 2 eggs scrambled with coffee. The muffin was delicious and HUGE. My boyfriend ordered the Ruben. It was delicious, came with a huge plate of fries and a pickle. This place would have received 5 stars, but the Ruben was a bit greasy and had a lot of sauce on it, and was essentially just a bit too fatty to be a 5 star Ruben. the fries were fresh, hot, and delicious. The coffee was never empty, and the service was Super Friendly! The menu options were plentiful. Everything was served fresh and fast. Pleasant atmosphere. Quiet. You can actually hear one another across the table without raising your voice at all. Very nice! Good prices. I really enjoyed this place. They didn't balk at my need for a chair at the end of a booth since I was wearing my baby. They were super sweet to my 4 year old. Food took a while to come out but when it did...it was the start of a wonderful day :) So many toppings, haha. And it was made really well too. The eggs balanced out the other ingredients perfectly. Also comes with sides of toast and hash browns. So much food, holy. I wasn't hungry for at least the next 6 hours. My friend and I also decided to order buttermilk pancakes. Also delicious!
