I cannot say enough good things about Henry's! We called last minute with a large party, and the manager graciously accommodated us without hesitation. Despite our group size, the wait time for our food was impressively quick, and every dish was absolutely delicious--the biscuits especially . The waitstaff was incredibly competent, handling our group's orders flawlessly and with warm, attentive service. It's rare to find such a well-organized and welcoming restaurant. Cute little diner with a large selection of dishes . I went with the meatloaf with mash potatoes and gravy , vegetables and a nice big salad . I chose this because of a tip I read stating theirs is the best he had ever had . So of course I couldn't resist trying . It wasn't the best I've ever had , but it was tasty and you're given a big portion . It is such a good value . I was a little disappointed that they use instant potatoes. But given how inexpensive the meal is , I understand why they use instant . My kids really enjoyed their meals and so did my parents . They all were served large portions as well . Looking for a good breakfast joint in Tehachapi? Henry's Cafe is the place to go. You may have to wait awhile on weekends because they are popular, but they are worth the wait. I had no intention to finish my entire meal. I like leftovers. My order of Chicken Fried Steak with hash browns, eggs, and toast left me happy and full. My better half must have liked her sandwich and sweet potato fries because she finished everything. Big thank you to Brittany C. for recommending this restaurant and for joining us. Stopped by for breakfast during a motorcycle ride. The lady who greeted us was friendly in informing us they were still closed for takeout. The curbside service was relatively quick. My pulled pork bbq sandwich was pretty good. Hugely messy. The onion rings were definitely above average. The ladies serving were nice and gave us refills and let us use the bathrooms. Henry's Cafe is another favorite go-to for breakfast and lunch. We have been going to Henry's Cafe since our son took us there a couple of years ago when we lived in Merced, CA. Well, we ended up moving to Tehachipi last year, and still, continue going to Henry's Cafe. Every breakfast, and lunch we have ordered take-out or eat at the Cafe, and we have never been disappointed. Every meal is like it's home-cooked. Awesome coffee too. I wished they would open for dinner, it would be another fine meal. Give Henry's Cafe a try, you'll be hooked. P.S. Our meal was good and bad. My love and I ate here just before Mountain Fest 2023. I ordered the corned beef and hash, while my mate had the chili Verde omelet. My love's meal, on the one hand, was pretty tasty (I lost much of my taste after COVID but I can taste some things and it was good). My meal, on the other hand, was from a can and likely cost $2 to $3/ serving. The reason for the two stars is because I do not believe that a restaurant should offer corned beef and hash if it's from a can...this is as bad as a restaurant serving dino shaped chicken nuggets...sorry, but not sorry Henry's. On a early morning road trip and wanted to stop for breakfast at a locally owned cafe. This was perfect! The service was prompt and very friendly. Everyone is greeted like a regular. First time in the area and stopped overnight to catch some Z's. Woke up and yelp brought us here. Ate here Friday morning and was more than surprised with the amount of folks here during "work" hours. Wait was 10 minutes and the waiting area is a little tight. Service was excellent with attentiveness to coffee refills and taking care of a family with kids of all ages including our 2 year old. Food came out and we could not complain at all. All of our dishes were great and the prices were very reasonable. Left a great tip for an equal experience. Waitress even gave us HUGE coffees to go. read more

Went here a couple of times. Chicken fried steak is the Beez Kneez!! Outstanding plate. I'm not even a chicken fried steak person, but am when I come here. The hours at Henry's Cafe close at 3pm, so if you want good breakfast or brunch, this is the spot. There not much variety on coffee and since we have plenty of coffee drinkers I would suggest maybe tweaking that menu other than that the service was super friendly and the food was 10+ . read more

Alesha is undoubtedly the best server in Tehachapi and probably LA county. I am always impressed how she remembers my order perfectly. When i went in with friends i realized I was not special but she remembers everybody's order. She always greets you with a genuine smile and makes you feel like a VIP. The food is always on point and any well done or light preferences are always catered too. If Alesha is working and I forget to order my omelet well done, double onion, light Swiss I have no worries as she has already added those requests! The ambience is pure genuine hospitality and without question Henry's is the best breakfast/brunch in town. Their loyalty program is good and seems to add up fast. The only issue at times is the coffee which used to be a higher grade, however either way i appear to drink enough of it! We have come here several times a month now for nearly 7 years. My wife and I both get the same thing 95% of the time... their omelette. It's one price for as many ingredients as they can stuff in there. Easily a top 5 on my best omelettes list. Get it with the biscuits and gravy, and you'll leave quite satisfied. We've also tried several other things on their menu, from their French Dip, to their burgers, to their Eggs Benedict. All of it was great! Never had a complaint with the food, or the service! They made my friends 87 year old father wait 45min for a BLT and when he got it had rotten tomatoes on it . very rude people working there told her husband not to wear his red hat in there so called business do not recommend this place. read more
