Have been here now 6 or 7 times and its always spot on! The food is so well done and worth the wait as the atmosphere is very chill and the staff is great. Frank brought back an oldie but goody a couple weeks ago while we were there with 10 couples.. Yep , 10 couples and not a dissatisfied taste bud in the bunch... The Fish and Chips were amazing and nestled into the center of a 6 course meal! Can't wait to go back. Never been disappointed with Henrys. Whether there with just the two of us or the twenty of us.. Food is outstanding.. Frank and Debbie are the best and for the qualify of what you receive the price isn't too bad.. Hope to see you soon! read more

Tried Henry's Cafe for the first time last week, and the food was as good as any I've ever had, that includes the Parc in Philly, the Chateau Frontinac in Quebec, and the Sacher Hotel in Vienna. The food was delicious. read more

What a wonderful dining experience. Debbie, server extraordinaire, was gracious, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The pace of the serving was perfect, yes it is a little slower than average but that is truly the best way to enjoy ones meal. Now on to the food... Appetizers...Spicy mussels, yes they were spicy but ohhh sooo much more flavor than just the heat from the peppers. Chicken livers. I know not a typical item, but also not a typical presentation. My husband who doesn't even eat liver could not get over how good.. Entrees... Short ribs... There are simply no words to describe how incredibly delicious..Totally blown away. Triple tail... One of the fresh fish specials, the flavors, the accompanying fresh vegetable medley were incredible. Dessert. Just saying white chocolate marshmallow bread pudding........omg. I look forward our next visit, hope to personally thank Frank for sharing his gift. So bring a bottle of wine or two, cash, patience to savor Franks fine creations and be ready to enjoy a most memorable dining experience.. read more

What a little gem in middle of downtown Pottstown. Small initmate restaurant with a killer menu. A bit pricey. Don't be in any hurry to eat and dash. Wait staff very friendly/helpful. BYOB. Cash only. A definite chocie for fresh well prepard fare. read more

Went here recently for a prix fixe meal and found it very, very good. The food was excellent (all seven courses). The service quite good, too. I found the chef's sauces excellent. The only deficiency was the timing. I enjoy European style dining where the "table is yours" for the evening. Since the special dinner was apparently sold out, there were longer than expected delays between courses. Four hours for the "event" would have been great. Five hours was too long. Overall it was a very good evening with terrific food. I will return. read more

This place is awesome!! Henry's is truly what they call a "hidden gem" in Pottstown! My husband and I went, and we were both blown away with the food. We ordered our food with the help of the very knowledgeable waitress, and she brought us out basically a loaf of this delicious toasty bread while we waited. Unfortunately, the spicy mussels we ordered as an appetizer weren't turning out the way the chef would have liked--so instead, we got the poached oysters and OMG. They were to die for! We were honestly happy that the mussels didn't work out! We were also given even more bread to sop up the delicious cream sauce that the oysters were in. I could have left the restaurant then and been happy! For salads, I had the salad "vert" which was tangy and delicious, while my husband had a heirloom tomato salad with a light balsamic. So good, and large portions as well. Our entrees were outstanding. I had the scallops, which were cooked to perfection, and my husband had the chilean sea bass. Both of our entrees were accompanied by a smooth and creamy polenta, and a mixture of vegetables such as bok choy, green turnips, squash, etc. I was so full but kept on eating because it was that good! You can just tell that the chef puts his heart into every meal he creates. Our food was well-thought out and perfectly cooked. Another nice thing to note is that since the restaurant is small, the chef is able to talk to the guests. I had a few questions about the cheese board, and the chef came right out and answered my questions honestly. The chef and the waitress are truly there to make sure you have an enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back! Cannot wait! read more

I grew up in Pottstown and have continued to live nearby but never heard about this place till a year ago. Took me a while to get here on a night they were open but boy am I glad I got here. Fabulous food. Everything was so good from the toasted bread with feta and bruschetta that comes complimentary to the halibut and the eggplant/goat cheese crostini that we had. And being BYOB is a big plus. Cash only, though. Honestly, the best meal out we have had in a while. read more

Once a year for the last 3 years I've come to Pottstown from New York on business. Henry's Café fits very nicely in its spot just off of High Street, a beautiful small town avenue. Admittedly, there are very few "restaurants" in Pottstown, so it's a little surprising when you happen upon this wonderful gem. On my last visit, Labor Day weekend, my mother and I arrived just before closing, and Debra, the best waitress in all of North America, and the chef/owner were kind enough to let us stay. For an appetizer we ordered the fig and goat cheese crostini. For such a simple dish, the flavors were remarkable. I think the secret ingredient was honey and balsamic vinegar and of course fresh everything else. For the entrée we ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. This is a fish I was hesitant to order since its ubiquitous, overpriced and poorly cooked introduction to Manhattan many years ago. The chef at Henry's made me forget all the bad times, and only focus on the perfection of the fish. The dish was reminiscent of a Le Bernardin masterpiece, and like Le Bernardin, Henry's respects the fish and knows exactly how to let it please the taste buds. Order from the specials, which is 90% fish and fresh, fresh, fresh. Don't forget to try the fish and chips and blueberry cobbler! There is so much more to say about Henry's Café . . . just go. It's about a 30 minute drive from Bethlehem and Allentown just off Highway 100. read more

I would give it less than one star if I could. Honestly, the board of health needs to visit this place where the owner/chef's hygene is questionable, his hair is long, but not in a net, which I found in my food. The atmosphere was described to me as good, nice and quaint, but not the night that my wife and I ate there. It was horrible. We waited for our meal for an hour and a half. Our wine glasses were dirty, and we were sweating through our clothes because the room where we were seated was not properly cooled. When we finally received our food it was presented well, but tasted less than medicore. For the price, go to a genuine upscale restaurant, not this imposter. For the location, bring protection, because it's a rough neighborhood. read more

We love this place. We go here with friends regularly--we used to go to other places but Henry's is special. It took our friend Judi a couple of years to convince us that there could possibly be a really good restaurant in a store front (she said strip mall, which is not accurate at all) that doesn't take plastic and doesn't serve booze in the center of Pottstown that was worth the trek up route 100. It is soooo worth it! Frank and Denise take such good care of us. The food is in general locally grown and prepared--interesting charcuterie, local cheeses and meats, and great fish. I know it has a reputation for seafood -- and the fish is very good--but I've found the menu to be more diverse and always worth exploring. Bring cash, plan to be there for a while--the time flies by but a good meal shouldn't be rushed and Frank cares deeply that you appreciate his food--and get set to have a memorable time. If you are interested, the place is named for Frank's favorite author--you'll see the little display in honor of his memory as you walk in. read more

As someone else said before me, I'm afraid that if I write a great review, I won't be able to get a reservation. But I think Frank could squeeze me in at the bar! I went for fish and chips last Thursday night and wow, wow, wow is all I can say. Waaaaay more than I could ever eat, took the remainder home and had it for lunch the next day. This is a place with a whole lot of character. It is unique. If you are looking for place that is like every other place, Henry's is not for you. But if you like unusual, great food and good company, this is the place to be. Thanks Frank. read more

Henry's Cafe is our favorite restaurant in the area! Well worth a trip to Pottstown! Besides the wonderful food, you'll find a choice of 2 dining rooms. One is intimate & cozy and the other is 'open' to a very friendly owner & chef, Frank, who likes to intereact with diners as he cooks. The entire staff is attentive & friendly. read more

What can I say about Henry's it's a phenomenal experience. This is truly one of the best restaurants around. It's like having your own personal Chef Frank. Heart and soul into every dish. Can't wait to go back to the total dining experience. BYOB and BYBF... Bring your best friends.. read more

Wow!What a find in Pottstown.Everyone is talking about another byob in Pottstown being the "best",they obviously have not tried Henry's Cafe. This place is comfortable, casual, friendly, and has amazing food.Unconventional in their approach, these folks really love what they are doing and it shows. The fish dishes are creative and delicious. No credit cards is a slight drawback, but not enough to keep me away from this charming little cafe. The "best" in Pottstown! read more

We had a great dinner at Henry's the other night. We were a party of 4 that enjoyed the small but very quaint and charming atmosphere. We had a 4 hour dinner, not due to the service but do to thoroughly enjoying each course and the relaxing setting. Each course got progressively better from the meat, cheese and bread to the spicy mussels to the crab raviolis and sea bass and finishing with the blueberry cobbler. Bring se nice wine and get ready to enjoy a nice long dinner the way it's supposed to be. No rush, excellent food and environment. We can't wait to go back! read more
