Tried this place because of a Resy promotion. Nice ambiance, has a modern feel. Service was ok. They brought the salads at the same time as the entrees which is very odd. The food was just ok. I had the New York steak and it had a giant tendon running through it making half it inedible. Expected more for the price of the food. Don't think I would go here again. read more

Converted TGI Friday's located in the former Coventry Mall. Restyling of interior- you quickly forget your dining in an abandoned chain restaurant inside an uninhabited mall. Upgraded color palette, marble countertops & bar, & spacious booths; some patio seating out front. Inviting. Elevated drink offerings & a bar staff that was friendly & attentive to our needs. Table visit from owner who shared history & vision of space & desire for us to see place as a comfortable spot for repeat business. Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp app- 'twas delicious! Firm, decent-sized, shrimp w/ crisp, salty, exterior of bacon served on smear of aioli. Patty Melt was a simple presentation; 2 thin smash patties, 3 buttery-grilled pieces Texas Toast, & patty sauce which appeared to be just a ketchup/mustard mix. I'm used to a little more going on w/ my patty melts- fried onions, Thousand Island, something- but I'd be a liar if I didn't say it was tasty & I would order it again! BP Cheesesteak, again, simple presentation, but well executed. Beer battered fries in place of chips for upcharge. Dishes priced a bit high for what's presented. I'd like to see a few more menu choices (if there are Specials they weren't mentioned during my visit) in order to make this a routine dinner spot vs. occasional bar lunch, but I look forward to a return visit! read more

Had a great time a Big Phil's! We started with cocktails, the purple rose and old fashions. Both were excellent . There was a good collection of beer and cocktails. The whiskey selection was top notch with Stagg Jr and little book to name two. The menu gave us trouble because it all looked good/intriguing. There was a soup flight! I got it and the French onion, mushroom and San Marzano tomato were all very good. We paired that with a bacon tomato fig jam grill cheese which was so delicious. On top of that we had onion rings and gnocchi with dipping sauces. Just plain tasty. All of the food was well seasoned and the onion rings really popped. Phil came out to check on things and talked whiskey and food with us. The service in general was very good. The place is pretty large, aka plenty of seating and there was a huge parking lot out front. We can't wait to go back and try more of the menu and more of the bourbon. Thanks Phil and see you soon. First time here and I admit I was skeptical but I had heard good things. And all the things I heard were correct. Our server was great. Attentive, friendly, and am so happy she recommended the roast pork sandwich with the long hots. Soooo good! Just as good as anything they sell in the city. Maybe better. My gf said her burger was good. And we had the boneless wings with garlic & parm. They were ok. The breading was good but wish we just woulda went normal Buffalo sauce. Woulda been better. The blue cheese dressing they served was really good so we will try them that way next time. We were there early on a Friday night and as we were leaving a band was setting up. Bet that was pretty cool. Next time we plan for live music and a later dinner. We will be back. read more

While visiting Pottstown, we stopped to have lunch at Big Phil's. This was an excellent decision of ours for many reasons! The staff were attentive and friendly. In addition, the service was fast and the ambience was very inviting. Lots of available space and booth seating! We each loved our meals. Most of our party ordered sandwiches. The fries were crispy and golden. We were obsessed with the honey mustard. Excellent for dipping! My chicken sandwich was the perfect size. Our party shared the brisket nachos - excellent! Phil visited our table and gave us a warm welcome. I can see why so many people are complimentary of the restaurant! If I'm in the area again, I'll be back! read more

This restaurant is located in an old abandoned mall, but don't let that discourage you, they really make the place nice! I came here for a good entree and beer selection, but started with a BOGO appetizer and discounted IPA as it was happy hour. Buffalo chicken dip with pita chips was delicious and got a bowl of mushroom soup as my free appetizer, which was homemade and excellent! For my entree, which is what I came for, I got the salmon Oscar which hardly had any crab and sauce on it. Couldn't have been more than 1 oz. Hey ya'll, I visited Big Phils in Pottstown, PA for the first time, yesterday, October 1, 2025,, mid-day. My sister wanted buffalo chicken dip, but they discontinued it, so we got the fried pickle spears. #AWESOME. I got the chicken sandwich and homemade chips, my sister, cheesesteak and fries. All I need to say if you haven't been there, GET THERE. Our waitress was engaging, (sorry I don't remember her name), the food was ON POINT and the chips, WELL I'LL JUST SAY, OH MY MY MY, SO YUMMY. Our first trip to Phil's! Reviews looked good so I took a chance and took someone visiting from out of town when it was only our first time- something I never do! I was so happy with our experience. This visitor is from Brazil and I really wanted him to experience a good cheesesteak. The reviews for cheesesteak specifically weren't great but walking to our table I saw one and it looked pretty great. Then I read the menu and saw it was a conshy roll and cooler sharp! My friend from Brazil (who has never had one) loved it. And me- who could live on cheesesteaks also LOVED IT! I asked for sauce mixed in, they went a little light on the sauce but still delish!! My husband had the bacon wrapped shrimp which were fantastic. My friend and my husband also had oysters that were great. The only reason this review wasn't a 5 star was because they had live music which was REALLY GOOD! But then in the front part they had some sort of trivia on and they played loud music there. Wow! Wow! Wow! This is truly a hidden gem. Other area bars need to take note! First, the service is spot on Second, the bathrooms are clean, have deodorant, q-tips, lotion, and other self-care products! Lordy!!! The bartender, Ella, is the sweetest thing since pecan pie! And she can make a mean mixed drink too. I highly recommend stopping by when she is behind the bar. Lastly, someone's grandma is in that kitchen whipping up delicious burgers, sandwiches, and other bites. The roast pork sandwich is delicious, and the onion ring burger with the apple butter is heavenly. I would give this establishment 10 stars! Let's get on that Yelp!!!! read more

Been here twice. Both times I was disappointed. I wanted it to be good but food is average and priced high. Second time, I got drink then bartender decided to take a break. Waited about 20 minutes with an empty drink even though she looked her over from her booth multiple times when taking a break from her phone. We dined at Big Phil's recently. Weird location, and diner vibe when you walk in. But the staff was extremely friendly so no complaints there. I even commend them on having spotless water glasses! I ordered the Butternut Squash Salad. It was good, though it said candied walnuts in the description and I received candied pecans. Might not seem like a big deal to most people, but I have some dietary restrictions, nuts being one of them. It can be challenging to eat out but I do my best. Constructive criticism: Fries were to greasy Salad was good but kale is hard to digest and could be chopped smaller (massaged kale is even better), and the nut mistake. Shrimp on salad could've been cooked more. I think this day and age restaurants should be up with the times and label the menu better- people have dietary restrictions (and it's only going g to get worse). Most times it's frustrating, even embarrassing to have to pick menu items apart and ask a ton of questions. It would be a more pleasurable experience if we could navigate the menu on our own with gluten friendly labels. You offer gluten free rolls, not all gluten free people eat meat or dairy... is the black bean burger gluten friendly? read more

Coffee pot should be self service or leave a pot on the table. Silver ceilings blue and white walls. No napkins. Some type of dark colored linen folded around cutlery. Have been wanting to try to this place since it came to town and since it has been getting good reviews. My friend and I decided to come here to meet up and have dinner. The space is nice and has outside seating is well. We got sat down immediately with not wait, this was around 5:30 on a Friday. Our waitress was very nice, bubbly and explained a lot of menu items/specials to us. We decided to go with lemonade and sweat tea for drinks and the mozzarella sticks as an app. We both ordered specials let me specify that detail. I ordered the brisket plate which came with two sides, Mac n cheese and I substituted the potato's for broccoli rabe. She ordered the brisket sandwich plate that came with fries. We also got the Oreo cheesecake to share. The drinks were great, some really good sweet tea and lemonade. The mozzarella with the marinara was delicious. I can't complain about those items. The brisket plate for me was just okay. The brisket was well seasoned and tender but I got more fat than meat. The Mac n cheese was not Mac n cheese, it was more like a bland cream sauce with a sprinkle of cheese. The broccoli rabe has no flavor but garlic. It was super garlicky and I love some garlic but it made it taste even more bitter. My friend enjoyed her sandwich and she for really good slices of brisket on hers, she said the fries were okay, just fries. We ordered the Oreo cheesecake and didn't read that it was all chocolate and not a regular cheesecake so that was our mistake. She enjoyed it but I could only eat a few bites and it didn't really taste like cheesecake to either of us. She said it tasted like a thick mousse. Wasn't my favorite. All in all I will say I would come back to try something else that's off of the main menu and it would probably be seafood since the waitress was raving about their seafood options. So I would give it one more try and order something that's not a special. read more

This is a favorite restaurant for us. We have always had a five star experience. I love the NY Dip (St. Peters Bakery rolls ftw!) and the Chicken AlfLloydo (glad for the garlic bread that comes with this dish, so I can sop up all the saucy perfection.) My husband usually gets seafood (scallops, fish tacos) and it is excellent. The drinks are works of art. The desserts are handmade. Even the ice cream is hand made. The service is great, and you can absolutely tell the employees are valued and respected by the owners. It's such a positive vibe. read more

After driving by this restaurant several times, we decided to try it out because of the positive recommendations that we got. It was a nice day so we sat outside. While we waited we had a Long Island Iced Tea and Strawberry Margarita which were both refreshing drinks. Our meal consisted of the Chicken Alfredo Pasta and the Chicken Alf-Lloyd-o. First time here and came on a Sat night. We had made reservations but it really wasn't needed. In addition to the indoor seating, they also have an outdoor patio area and we saw one family eating outside with their dog. It was just my son and I on this visit and we started with the mozzarella medallions, which were really good! As our entrees, we had the Big Phil burger and the chicken alflloydo. My son enjoyed his burger, but I wasn't overly fond of the brown sauce on my dish and was expecting more of a traditional alfredo sauce. Desserts are homemade here by Phil's Mom, so we ordered two cheesecakes, and both were delicious. Service started off OK but steadily declined throughout the meal and I often had to flag someone down to refill my drink. We also had to ask multiple times for a bottle of water and when it did finally come out, it wasn't even cold, so we had to ask for ice. Will likely try this place again and might even bring my dog and eat outside! read more

Stopped here on a whim for lunch while out shopping and we were very pleasantly surprised. Food was great & the portion sizes were good. The standout items for us were the big honkin' pretzel, the spinach and artichoke dip, and the amaretto sour. The spinach and artichoke dip especially was incredible. The service was great, food came relatively fast (although we were basically the only ones in the place), and we had basically no complaints. The only real downside is the prices, however it's definitely worth it if you want some good food that's higher quality without being super fancy. All in all, while it is a bit pricey, this place is great and I definitely recommend going. read more

Hostess stand is in the middle of the restaurant, which was awkward to figure out. It took more than 15 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. She actually showed up just as my wife and I were getting up to leave. We asked to get salads before our meals, but they came out with the meals for some weird reason. I had the brisket, which was pretty good. However, the Mac and cheese was super bland and not worth the calories. The roasted potatoes left a puddle of oil, and while the seasoning on them was good, they were cut so big that flavor only lasted a brief amount of time and then I was just left with a mouthful of potato. We also had to ask twice to get the check, as the first time the waitress walked away without acknowledging us. I also had to move plates around to sign the bill because plates were never cleared. This might be an odd criticism, but the decor was non-existent. It was just gray walls with nothing on them. Did this restaurant just open up or something? All in all, it was a wasted night out and I was super bummed because I had heard great things. read more
