First off, Yelp has the location in the wrong place. I almost went inside the grocery store. Hendrix is right after the Wells Fargo ATM, just down some mini steps. The place was very clean. The gentleman at the front was very polite and punctual. I ordered to-go since I'm just driving through. I ordered Meat Lovers 11" pie and cheese sticks. Didn't take very long. The pies crust is on the thin side, reminded me of little you-know-who thin pizza. But the ingredients were very flavorful. I was expecting a full on grease pad, but that wasn't the case at all! I really wish the crust was a little bit thicker, but I still enjoyed it. The cheese sticks weren't bad either, they tasted good as well. It was very quiet and well maintained. I had seen this place before but until now I had the chance to try it. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad and it has become my favorite (I've tried it at other different places and this one is the best by far!) I also tried The Monroe Pizza and yes this pizza is probably becoming my favorite; the cheese, the crust, is just perfect! A young guy was my server and all I can say is that his customer service skills are awesome! The ambience is nice, I liked the old vhs, cassettes and guitars on the wall. very unique! By far my worst meal of 2024. Cheap Pizza at a late night gas station seems gourmet compared to what I was served. Barely edible. The wings are drenched in sauce. Can't believe the place was packed. I wish l had taken photos, the food was beautiful! I went there with a friend today. A nice glass of wine and some excellent service and five star food! We had the crostini to start, first class and very much superior to any of the restaurants south of Tucson. Then salads, l had the beet salad my friend had the pear salad. Everything was fresh, flawless and well presented. I have been here many times since they opened as pizza a vino, though admittedly l mostly get takeout from Hendrix. It is a pleasure to be able to go to a quality restaurant close to home. People from green valley and Tubac should make the short drive. Kudos Hendrix! read more

We checked out Hendrix after a recommendation and it is delicious! It's tucked away and kind of hidden, but do not skip this place!! The pizza is amazing!! We ordered a cheese, a vegetarian, and a Maui and all three were absolutely delicious!! The service was amazing!! Haley, who is the manager, was also our server! She was super attentive and checked in on us throughout our entire meal to make sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant also has a cool vibe with "retro" records, VHS cassettes, and tapes decorating the walls!! We will definitely visit again!! read more

While the food tastes good, and the place looks clean and you can actually have a conversation while having your meal, their service lacks if you don't become best friends with the staff. One of us ordered a hamburger that came without any tomato, lettuce, or onions. Maybe we didn't read the menu properly, but when we enquired about the vegetables that usually go on a hamburger, we were schooled by the staff that it is the way it is served, unless you ask for them. I was expecting them to say, "would you like me to bring you those?" But thee staff person just walked away. We waited a long time for refills, and never got checked to see if we were liking our food, while other tables were greeted warmly. I just felt that we were left by the wayside, being ignored by the staff. On another opportunity I went with another group (we met there for a work meeting), and the staff was super friendly and prompt. The main person from our meeting goes there often, so they know her. I felt that they treat people according to how often they go into the restaurant, and it should not be that way. We live in Rio Rico and wanted to try every restaurant in the area. We gave this restaurant three chances for getting a better service and never got it. Unfortunately we will not be going back because of the lack of good, friendly service, even though their food is pretty tasty. read more

I love the food and have eaten there several times, however, the service by Claudia was terrible. We waited 30 minutes before they had a table available, of which I completely understand and have no problem with. Where it went bad was the fact it took an hour and a half to get my food. The cheese stick appetizer took over an hour. There were people who came in 15 minutes after us that had their food before us. There were people who came in 30 minutes after us and another that came in 45 minutes after us who received their food about the same time we did. When I ordered my pasta dish, I specifically asked what was in it and she told me. When I got it, it had mushrooms which she did not tell me about and she said it was new on their menu and that she did not know what was written on the chalk board outside. I understood it was new and even the chalkboard did not have mushrooms on it, but she should have double checked. Although it took an hour and a half to get my dish and my girls recieved their chicken wings after 1 hour, I got my pasta within 10 minutes after returningthe one with mushrooms. I had asked for the salad that accompanies the pasta in a to go box, which I was never given. Claudia did not bring us the food and really check on us. She seemed to have an attitude and another waiter brought us to go boxes. Then, another waiter brought us bags for the to go boxes. 30 minutes later, Claudia brought us the handheld machine to pay the bill. I told her calmly that I was disappointed in how long it took and that we had to go boxes and waited 30 minutes for the check. Claudia immediately responded that we have to ask for the check and they do not automatically bring it. I find that a little hard to believe as a restaurant will make more money by turning tables over quickly, but maybe that is how they do it. Her attitude was more the issue and it was recognized by the wife and adult kids. They also did not like how Claudia took the handheld machine from me and I told Claudia that if she was not going to hear my feedback, as she had never offered any apology or explanation, but only excuses, that I had nothing more to say. She processed the $145 bill and left without giving me the to go salad. I called the next day to speak with the owner as Claudia answered and identified herself as the manager. I did not want to write an online review, but since the owner never called, I had no choice. The food is good, but service is in need of improvement. read more

If we're hungry and looking for fast and REAL quality we always go for Hendrix! Not only are their chef's on point with exactly what we order, the care and quality the put into each dish is outstanding. The assistant manager, Haley, is so sweet and kind. She even put our pizzookie (pizza cookie) on the oven for our dasher so it would be not and gooey when we ate it. Ice cream was still frozen and creamy. I called her to compliment the food and she made me feel like the most important customer in the world! I highly suggest the pepperoni or rockin pizza (half mushrooms of course) and ANY wings you order will be perfectly cooked to order and seasoned to perfection. This is my third time coming here and this place is delicious. I keep on telling myself I'm going to write a review but I keep on forgetting haha. It's a cute disco, rock n roll environment, all they need is a jukebox and it's perfect. This time my mom got The Hendrix Burger and she wanted it medium cooked and it she said it was perfectly grilled. Personally, I always get their buffalo chicken wings because they're always crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. This time I got the meat lovers pizza and it was freshly hot and crispy. Been going to Hendrix for past 3 years (take-out on our "Friday nites", which were Sundays) Have had every Italian dish more then once and pizza & calzones ~ probably about dozen times each. Incredibly consistent & fresh; crust ~ excellent We are originally from .NYC (left in '12 to Fla and then SW) and this is as good Italian as we have had anywhere since departing NYC. Really cool spot to grab a bite, hang out with friends and listen to music. We were on our way to Mexico but stayed locally at an Airbnb place. Found this great place and we were starving. The pasta was good, my blue cheese salad with chicken was wonderful. On our way back through we have got to try the pizza, it all looked delicious. I had the most upsetting experience ordering here. I decided to support local during this pandemic and when I went to pick up my food it was not what I ordered. After confronting the person, he said "that's the order I have on the paper". He didn't apologize or try to correct my order. Biggest let down is price to portion ratio. Foid is good but small amount for price. I would reccomend for staff and atmosphere.
