Since they opened in '96, I've been going to Ragazzis. Back then, I was in Nogales regularly and would eat there every week or 2. Now I don't go to Nogales but a few times/yr but every time I do, I have dinner there. Their food is delicious. I love the chicken Marsala. It has such a nice flavor. I was passing through Nogales with my wife and sister and stopped by Ragazzi. We were pleasantly surprised to find a fine Italian restaurant in town for lunch. I had eggplant, my wife had spaghetti Bolognese, and my sister had Caesar salad. The food and presentation were excellent. The desserts were also very good. The only downside was that there was no lunch menu, so we were paying dinner prices. The pizza menu was not listed on the main menu. It was on the back of the dessert menu. This may be off putting for those who are looking for a cheaper alternative for lunch. I would suggest to management that both menus are given at the time of seating. With that said, I would highly recommend this restaurant who are looking for great Italian food and excellent service. read more

My wife and I went here on my birthday a week ago for dinner. To put it simply we weren't impressed. For the amount of money the owner is charging for an entree, you would think that his wait staff would be trained in how to serve a meal properly from the beginning to the end. He has a woman in there that can't clean the plates off the table before the next course is brought, there is no timing to the preparation and delivery of the food, one plate after another while you are still eating the appetizer the salad shows up then the main course. From what I understand this man owns several restaurants in southern Arizona. I hope the service is better in them. read more

This is a must stop while in Nogales! It is a small but elegant Italian restaurant. I was not expecting to find such a gem in the area. It came highly recommended by a friend that does a lot of business in Nogales. Of course I am always looking for the next great bite so I happily came over to see them for lunch (open lunch and dinner!). WOW . From the great service to the incredible selection of Italian meals everything was spot on. My friend got the lasagna which he said was incredible and I got a pesto pasta with pine nuts (can't go wrong with anything that has pine nuts!) and yes, it was yummy. Three lunchtime visits to this restaurant in the past month. The food has been consistently very good; the service provided is quality. I will whole-heartedly recommend the Ragazzi Burger, as well as the Pasta with Sausage and Béchamel sauce. I have also enjoyed their Calamari Fritti, and the Caprese Salad -lovely tomatoes. They can make a Negroni (plus+plus+); their red wines have been a nice addition to each meal. Normally several people enjoying their food at lunch. The ambience is pleasant -open seating with white table cloths- good music. I don't think you will have any regrets. read more

Glad to have another solid non-Mexican option close to the border! The same space was an Italian place before, started well but went downhill over time. When the woman at the front desk of our hotel recommended this place, I was worried that it was more of the same. But when we walked in an saw the renovations, bright and light and open to the kitchen, I was thinking that it really must have changed. I had a glass of the Malbec, started with the minstrone (soup of the day), and chose Chicken Piccata as my main. Others at my table enjoyed the house salad, the penne rosa, the penne bolognese, and the chicken scaloppine. Everything was good. Being picky, the bolognese tasted like they just added meat to marinara (too much tomato), and my chicken piccata was a tad overcooked. Also, it took quite a while to get a refill on our waters. But otherwise the food was delicious and the service was friendly. We'll be back! read more

I was passing through, on my way to my daughter's house. Stopped here to bring dinner. I ordered Queso fundido and Calamari to start. Both were absolutely delicious. The tortillas with the queso were phenomenal. I had the lasagna. It was everything I dreamed of! The best lasagna I've had since Chicago. My daughter had some sort of seafood pasta, and she simply loved it. I don't think I would be ambivalent to order anything here. It's Italian food as I knew it, growing up. Devine! read more

I would have to say this is one (out of two) of my fave spots to eat in town, on this US side of the border. It definitely is more of the American style of Italian food, but I am not complaining there. It is always tasty, consistent, and nice and cheesy! I just wish their bread they bring out as an app had a little bit more pizzazz. If you're in need of a recommendation of what to order, I highly suggest the Alfredo.... my favorite dish! My boyfriend loves the Chicken Parmesan, which is always a solid choice. Dress casual, no need to get fancy. The place is small, dimly lit, but very chill. On Christmas Day, I came down from Phoenix to see my mom. We decided to try and find somewhere to eat out although we knew not many restaurants would be open. We tried this restaurant and were surprised but happy it was open. I am a Nogales Native but had never tried this place. All I can say is my mom and I had the coziest experience ever. Small little restaurant on the side of a strip mall. I was hungry and tired of fast food otherwise I never would have stopped and tried it out. To my complete surprise, the food is great!! My very favorite Italian restaurant within at least 100 miles. We ate at the one in Green Valley once and this tops that one by a long shot with food and service. I was in Nogales on business and I went to this restaurant twice in my week there. The food was good both times albeit I bit overpriced, the problem was the service. The first night I went was a slow night, not many patrons and the service was great, the wait staff very attentive and helpful. With that experience i decided to go pack a few days later, opposite happened, it was a much busier night and the wait staff was in disarray, it took 3 or 4 tries for me to finally get a glass of wine or a refill. GREAT customer service from the entire staff, we showed up without reservation on a Saturday night, there was a private event (posada) and the staff was super accommodating, on top of that food was delightful! Just an amazing place, especially for Nogales. Linen tablecloths and napkins. Some of the coldest beer around. We found the service to be exemplary without being overwhelming. The staff & service are excellent at Ragazzi. We ordered take out after a long drive and everything was prepared very well. We enjoyed salads to start with their homemade garlic bread. I had chicken parmigiana with a side of linguini. I should have asked for marinara sauce on pasta! My husband had spaghetti with meatballs which was very good.
