As soon as he arrived, I began to receive calls of him falling. It was clear that he needed more care than he was getting, even though he was assessed and placed in assisted living with a level 5 care. We were never given a care plan and I witnessed him calling for help multiple times with no one arriving for over 20 minutes. They lost my dad's medication, ran out of diapers and he went to the hospital 3 times while he was at the facility. He required 4 staples in his head and there was blood left on his door for over 24 hours, which I eventually cleaned myself. On the third trip to the ER I told Kaiser staff that under no circumstance was he to be released to EV, it was not a safe environment for him. I tried to reach out to Marissa and her supervisor Lori but again was met with lukewarm responses. Apparently, all staff was at an offsite conference and there was no management on site for over 48 hours. I needed the money back for the so I could place my dad in a safe place, but EV had withdrawn $17k from my dad's account. Needless to say they we're making an already difficult experience excruciating. Please, if you're considering EV for your loved one, think again. I looks nice on the outside, but on the inside it's an unsafe, and they are extremely short staffed.

From the moment she answered the phone, she was compassionate, patient, and reassuring. During our very first call she gave me the information and guidance I needed to move forward. Within an hour of speaking with her, several senior living communities were already reaching out to me. Before connecting with Christine, I had called many facilities myself and only received one call back. All we had to do was schedule the appointments. It was clear that Christine has built strong and meaningful relationships with the communities she works with. We ultimately placed our uncle in one of the independent living communities she introduced us to, and the process felt so much more manageable because of her help. She also helps families explore assisted living and skilled nursing options, which makes her an incredible resource no matter what level of care is needed. If you are trying to navigate independent living, assisted living, or skilled nursing options for a loved one, I highly recommend reaching out to Christine at Creating New Hope Senior Living Advisors. Having someone knowledgeable and compassionate guide you through such an uncertain time truly makes a difference. We are very grateful for her support.

First the good- very beautiful building, nice to visit…read more good food, very nice wait staff and chef in dining room. Pretty grounds, flat and good for walking. quiet location. Very kind front desk staff. The cleaning staff is very good and the maintenace staff are also excellent, The Cons- 1-Rent will increase 7-8% every year to the day. 2-If you pay for showers, your parent may or may not get them, maybe 25-50% of the time. They seem understaffed and do not have a transparent way to keep track, report or let family know 3- the elderly must put their laundry into the hallway for pick up which is difficult given that the doors are very heavy and most residents use walkers and canes. 4- Do not rent and apartment on the 3rd floor unless your parent is able to use stairs, the elevator breaks at least once a year due to water issues and there is only 1 elevator to the 3rd floor so they are stuck up there until it is fixed which sometimes is weeks if they can't use the stairs. 5- Since the corporation of IVY park took over this facility, the most of the staff turns over every 1-2 months. you will not get to know a caregiver, they don't even attempt to introduce you to care givers. The management, nursing, and activity directors change about every 2 months so there is very little accountability. the only staff that has been constant is the waiters, the maintenance crew and the front desk. 6- their "fall and call button" is a one way system (no voice) so the elderly do not know if the call has been received and the response can take up to 2 hours or never, so if your parent is mildly cognitively impaired and does not carry or cannot use a cell phone, it is not a reliably safe system. Unfortunately they have not invested in a better and more updated system. Overall, it's very hard to find good care for the elderly and Ivy Park, despite the high cost is a mixed bag. I'm not sure that any other place is better, but just be aware of what you are getting into before you sign on the dotted line.

She had not gotten dinner the night before nor breakfast or lunch that day or help changing and was thirsty and the bed was awful wet etc! Complete irresponsibility ! We are friends and keep finding her in bad straights when we go visit!! There are no call buttons so the very least the staff could do is check on ppl like her (who can't get up by themselves ) to make sure they are ok . Terrible !!!!

Luckily, I was able to get him transferred to Creekview, where he thrived. The physical, occupational, and speech therapists were outstanding. The facility is gorgeous and welcoming and the rooms very pleasant; not institional at all. The staff is very caring. It creates a safe and welcoming environment for both patients and staff. It is a facility where professionalism, teamwork, and compassion are clearly prioritized. It is a place where I would be honored in pursuing employment after completing my clinicals. During my clinical experience, I felt encouraged to learn and was consistently supported by staff who were willing to share their knowledge while maintaining a strong focus on proper patient centered care. Having a grandfather with Parkinson's disease deepened my understanding of the importance of patience, dignity, and compassionate care; values that Creekview consistently demonstrates. I am truly appreciative of the professionalism and empathy shown by the entire team, and I would feel very confident entrusting my own family's care to this facility. Overall, Creekview reflects excellence in both care and workplace culture.

The food was delish. Dad didn't love the coffee but he can make his own. :) The staff has been there a long time and the ownership is also long-term which I find stable. There are a lot of pluses, but the icing on the cake was that each of three different residents talked to us in passing, and they were very cheerful and appeared happy. My dad is excited to move in soon, and it's a relief to the rest of the family. We're looking forward to my dad experiencing the Men's club, weekly happy hour, and nightly movies. I'll update my review in about three months.

My father lived in this facility for nine months, during which he fell 13 times, despite my clear…read moreand early disclosure that he had Parkinson's dementia. Rather than revising his care or offering support, the facility ultimately evicted him after his final fall, labeling him a "fall risk"--a fact they had known since day one. They violated legal eviction procedures by failing to give a 30-day notice, and informed me while I was out of the country, leaving my father in the hospital and me scrambling to find a new place for him. The lack of empathy during a vulnerable time was inexcusable. To make matters worse, the facility said the only way they would allow him back was if I paid for a private 24/7 nurse--an expense they knew was unrealistic. This was clearly a tactic to push him out while appearing cooperative on paper. Not sure if Aireen T. is still the director but she is not responsive, professional, caring, or compassionate at all. I had to involve Ombudsman to get responses from her on everything. There are also serious safety and staffing concerns. During a power outage in the heat of summer 2024, the facility had no backup generator. We overheard firefighters asking staff where the generator was, and staff admitted there wasn't one. During this incident a female resident was stuck in the elevator for literally hours on a hot summer day!! It was horrifying. Others, like the woman across from my father's room, were left in the dark yelling "hello, is anybody there?" My family and I went to her to calm her down ourselves as no staff member checked on her or other residents to reassure them during this electricity outage. They are clearly understaffed and many of the caregivers are not certified CNAs, and it shows. Staff routinely defer to residents' refusals for essential care, and hygiene, rather than providing informed, proactive support for those with cognitive conditions. Many times I showed up and I could smell he hadn't showered. When I asked staff why they would say that he refused so they didn't do it. Medication for my father was not consistently dosed at a consistent time which was also a huge problem. My father also experienced racism from two other residents, and when I raised this with the Director Aireen, they brushed it off--blaming the behavior on health issues such as UTI and did nothing to protect or acknowledge the harm done to my father. Aireen and executive management did nothing to soothe our concerns. This facility is not safe, not equipped, and not compassionate. I would not trust them with any loved one under any circumstances.
