I immediately filed a complaint and by the time they got back to me it was past the 30 cancel policy. I've tired numerous times to connect with them and all I get is the run around! I hate to sounds stupid but HelloTech just plan old sucks!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!! The tech asked for a towl to clean with but as you see he did nothing with it he asked me to! There were 2 bolts left in the old mount and he asked me if he could remove them and I said ok then he changed me another 150 bucks but didn't tell me it until I received the bill after he left! I booked an appointment with HelloTech to have a TV mounted. The tech was supposed to arrive between 1pm-5pm. I sat home all say and the tech was a no show! They never called or emailed me. So I rescheduled for the next day between 9am-12pm, no show, no call, no email. Figured one more try, rescheduled for the next day, guess what? NO SHOW, NO CALL, NO EMAIL. I cannot believe this company is in business and I am not even sure it's a real company because I was never able to contact anybody. It also took almost 3 weeks to have the hold released on my credit card that they put for the service and the only reason it was released is because I can contested the charge with my credit card. While their website lets you track the technician in real time, the experience was far from reassuring. It showed the technician would arrive early, so I went outside at the expected time--only to see no one. The tracking map displayed him across town and never moved. Shortly after the scheduled time, the status abruptly changed to say the appointment was "unserviceable due to customer no-show." When I contacted HelloTech via chat, they said they couldn't reschedule for the same day. On top of that, despite the website stating "pay after service," we were required to pay upfront. This experience leaves me questioning both the reliability of the installation process and whether Cove will truly help protect our home. read more

Booked an appointment through my home warranty company last week to get my NEST installed, and these were the guys assigned to my project. I was emailed a confirmation along w/ the name of the tech (Nathan) that would be stopping by. Went to their website to check out their company, and they got glowing reviews. Today was my appointment so I took the day off to stay home. Forty five minutes before my appointment, I got a text saying that Nathan was on his way. Two minutes later, I got a text reading it was cancelled because "customer is a no show." I called the customer service and spoke with the rep about my appointment being cancelled and the reason for it being cancelled. I asked for an explanation and she said she was not sure why I would've gotten the cancellation when my appointment wasn't even up yet. She stated she was going to escalate the issue, and she was going to get me an appointment asap. She sent me an email while I was on the phone which stated "your job is being assigned to another tech", and that I would get an email soon when someone picks up the job. She was very apologetic thus the one star for this review. After a couple of hours, a tech named Ali had been assigned to my project which I was notified by email; he was going to be arriving at four pm. Four pm came and went, and I received another text reading, "the technician previously assigned to your HelloTech order is no longer available. We'll contact you as soon as we have an update." A minute later I received another text reading, "Hello, your assigned tech is unable to make your appointment. We are still searching...Please give us a call with two dates and windows of time so we can find the best technician for you." There is no way I am going to contact this company to schedule another appointment. I am not sure who those people were that provided those "great" reviews in their Hellotech website. But, this is my experience with this company and there is no way in heck I would recommend them to anyone. Do not waste your time or money. Utterly incompetent, DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. i tried to book a coax cable install and the first tech showed up with no equipment and asked if i had a ladder to borrow. Then it took weeks of booking and re-booking because every time I booked an appointment they would cancel the day of, or the day before. Then it was up to me to organise a new booking. This happened 5 times then a tech came and hourly early to the agreed appointment time but I couldnt let him in because I needed the landlord present (at the agreed time) so he cancelled the job and told me to book another tech. THEY ARE SO FRUSTRATING AND APPEAR TO BE WILFULLY INCOMPETENT. Total fraud. Terrible systems. BEWARE. Engaged them to install a Cove Security system. Only six sensors and a control panel. They sent out a 71-year old fellow who brought is wife along. He needed to read the installation manual prior to starting. He talked about himself, where he lived and how wasting 2.5 hours of our time. He never got the system to work and we cancelled with Cove while he was here. HOWEVER, he filed that he had installed it an it worked. We got charged, not once, but TWICE. Employee threatened me! I purchased a TV through Walmart and their install service was HelloTech. Their employee didn't explain the process or ask how I wanted the TV mounted. When he was done I said I was disappointed and asked why he didn't properly communicate. He started screaming at me so I asked him to leave, he threatened to call the cops on ME (lol) and refused to leave until he took a bunch of pictures of my apartment. Customer service won't acknowledge the situation and sends a template response that the TV cannot be moved because of my wall (I have never asked them to move the TV). Truly scary experience - beware of this service. UPDATE: over a month later HelloTech still refuses to do anything to remedy the situation. After the technician came and did not finish the job, (my husband had to do a tedious and dangerous wire installation they charged us for) we received a invoice for $405. Hi, I had a really bad experience yesterday with your technician. He arrived on time, but was in an immediate hurry and wanted to get back to west Seattle for some reason so he was here for 12 mins at most. He also thought the TV to mount was only 55" even though I made sure to pay for the "55" and over" service which is listed on my bill. I paid the extra $25 add on service to put all external wires together masking them/attaching them to the walls. He said he doesnt do that and that i could do that. He did not set up any streaming services on the tv even though it says that is included in the full detail view of services. On the survey I filled out, it asked can you help lift the TV; I said NO because I was at work and my two housmates are 5 foot and one has a bad knee while the other was sleeping before work later. The technician came alone and immediately was like I need both my housmates help to lift a 77" TV above their heads while he just screwed it into the wall (the TV mount was attached already he just needed to mount it on the wall). I said no in survey to helping lift the TV to ensure at least TWO technicians would come for a "55" or above" TV mounting service. Wire is just hanging from the TV and its slightly not centered on the wall as well. I paid $125+ for horrible service, services not even rendered, indangered one and bothered my other housmate before his work, and the job was barely done at all. It was one job and he was so uninformed or lost it seemed. I want a full refund or Hellotech to send THREE technicians to my place to redo it better. This was terrible and I'm one to never even complain about stuff but this was crap and I feel robbed by Hellotech. I tried working with their customer service and I've yet to receive a refund or a reschedule of the tv mounting done. It's been a week, they upgraded me to tier 2 investigartions, then nothing, and they just are now ignoring my emails outright for days over their at their customer/help line. I contacted Hello Tech looking for someone to help me hook up my speaker and subwoofer to my TV. Seemed simple enough but when I tried to schedule the service appointment for some reason a tech was not available even when I advised I was available any time any day. They charged the membership fee which is non refundable after 3 days. All I could do was to cancel the order to get the 69.00 they charged me BEFORE the work was even scheduled. I cannot recommend this service and I was very disappointed and the speaker and woofer are still not hooked up. read more

HelloTech was recommended by my Xfinity installer. I was unfamiliar with them and was happy with their online response time and scheduling. I scheduled them almost a month prior to my service and 2 days prior I spoke with my installer and provided last minute details and confirmed the appointment. On the day of installation (7:52 am PST), little more than 3 hours from installation, I received a last minute cancellation email. I read that email at 9am while in a parking lot and loaded with the televisions and equipment scheduled to be installed. I scrambled and was able to find an installer THAT SAME DAY! One with whom I've been satisfied with and who has made accommodations to ensure that satisfaction. The age of COVID19 has been disruptive for many a business and , while I am sympathetic, I have also been happy with the ease by which I have been able to find alternative providers who have shown the flexibility (within the legitimate criteria of stay-in-place orders) to perform services with little lead time. What I'm learning is that smaller providers are more nimble and accommodating than the larger ones. The pandemic may serve to cull out providers that are unable to adapt to crises. read more

The second technician did get the TV mounted but didn't turn the TV on and when the TV was turned on by me the TV was upside down. The tech had left. The third tech who came out helped me flip the TV for an additional $69. He got the TV to work and set it up. He left. When I tried to turn the TV on it wouldn't turn on. I called customer service. Good luck with that. I was told a new technician would be assigned to get the TV to operate. I was promised I would be contacted by text or email in 24 to 48 hours. Three days later I have not been contacted. Stay away from Hello Tech. Quality control is non-existent. read more

So happy I contacted this company, from setting up the appointment to the tech contacting me, everything was seamless, tried to use Amazon Home service, and had tech cancel because didn't know how to set up my airport tower as a router or my wireless antenna, seriously?. We wanted someone to install our entertainment system which included TV, Bose surround, Tivo and Apple TV. What we got was someone who came and plugged everything in and left without everything working. Really nice guy but didn't seem to care that we did not have a working system when he left. We were under the impression that Hello Tech was a company that would be able to program remotes, make sure all components were talking with each other and have the supplies and tools to do it. We were mistaken. I guess Hello Tech charges $129 to plug in cables which I could have done. We wanted a seamless working system using one remote. Crappy wifi install job had the next company come in to do our security system couldnt get it to work well guess what the patch cables he made where all wired differently. Not in format A or the standard Format B just kinda however and that's fine I suppose if you make both ends the same but he didnt now I'm stuck with a blown PoE+ switch a $1400 bill cable stapled to the wall that needs to be redone. Several holes in my walls because and I quote "I hit Metal beam" well guess what the building was built in 1968 it doesn't have metal beams its solid wood frame construction. It's just really old hard wood. And the building now looks like swiss cheese. Wtf and How am I supposed to handle this I'm pissed buy a $500 switch pay them for destroying the building. When I booked my appointment I gave explicit instructions that I needed wired network support; their website promotes "network connectivity". The tech that showed up at my house was more than 2 hours late and eventually told me that he didn't know how to work on wired networks. So the end result was that I got charged $135 to speak with this guy for 10-15 minutes and my network is still downT. So much for "network connectivity". I had Hellotech mount three 55" tv's in my office conference rooms. I had stipulated mounting locations and height above finish floor. Not only did they mount in wrong locations, the tv's were all out of level and the mounting heights were each wrong by a different length. I don't think the tech even tried to mount these professionally. I have tried to contact Hellotech to come back and correct, but they keep asking me for more info or sending me to different contacts, saying they will get back to me but never do. read more
