Take your business elsewhere. HelloTech will be out of business soon. This is from the perspective of one of their top techs. When I started taking job offers from HelloTech years ago, the techs received the larger portion of payout (which is how it should be). NO TECHS EQUALS NO HELLOTECH. After several partnerships, tech payout is less than half in most cases. Now that they have lost most of their techs to competitors, they have resorted to annoying the few of us left by sending job offers hundreds of miles from home and even out of state, even though they CANNOT AFFORD to pay what it would cost to convince any tech to travel that far. Especially, since most techs have full-time day jobs and do not have the time or interest to travel that far. However, even after making multiple requests to management to stop sending offers that fall outside of the tech's schedule and distance preferences, they continue to ignore and show a complete lack of respect to the techs. FYI, they are doing just so they can tell customer's in areas where there are no techs that they tried to find a tech. Instead of being up front with the customer, they would rather annoy techs (in another state or city) knowing full well the techs will not accept the job offer, because they have already been notified by the tech that they only accept jobs within their preferred schedule and distance preferences. Keep in mind, this company is ONLY A PLATFORM. They do not have employed (W2) techs. They just contract to local resources. Do yourself (and the hard working techs) a favor and take your business elsewhere. Companies that use these sort of predatory and deceptive practices do not deserve your hard earned money. Wouldn't mount tv on the full motion mount that was already there. Drilled holes that were not level so drilled more holes. - but then didn't have the right tools and couldn't even get it done right. After I stopped the process he said he did have a full motion mount that we could have used???!! Mostly worried that he wasn't going to get paid because I wouldn't let him finish mounting the tv. Horrible!!! The tech had no idea what he was doing. He was to replace the keyboard, had 50 parts left over, the screen went black, lost an $1200 Macbook Air....recently had two high tech Apple review the work, and they said several parts were missing, parts laying in the casing...DO NOT use them. Not Trustworthy. I never used HelloTech services. Last summer, I was looking for a company to install Ring Cameras. I set up an appointment with HelloTech. Big mistake. I stupidly gave them my credit car to secure the appointment. I ended up canceling because discovered they aren't Ring authorized nor do background checks. So, no zero work was done. 45 minutes worth of work at $725 (with my assistance in holding the Tv and mourning it) and the cables are hanging down the wall. We were told "you didn't pay for that". Are you kidding me ??? First of all, HOW is that not included in the $725 total ??? Second of all, if it's NOT INCLUDED why was I not told that at the time of scheduling the service ??? I used this service to set up my Ring alarm system for me and I regret it. My tech was less technologically competent than I -- I signed up for this service mainly to save time because I am working on many projects around my newly purchased old home -- It saved me no time, my tech was late, my tech had slim to none customer service skills, and I will not be using this service again. He maybe helped me with two things that I probably could have figured out on my own. TLDR: If your tech savviness is behind by 20 years then this service might be valuable to you, but if you have downloaded more than 3 apps on your phone in the last year voluntarily, then you can set up your Ring alarm system on your own. read more

This company is a scam. They do a good job posting reviews of themselves and trying to look legit. They are not. Their customer service number routes you to an automated system that is set up very well to make it seem like you are talking to a person. You aren't. It attempts to sign you up for multiple services that you don't want or have anything to do with IT or TV installation. Medical ID bracelets was one of these. They say they don't charge you until the work is done. That's also untrue. They charge you immediately before you even complete your order. STAY CLEAR. If you have accidently requested a quote and given them your credit card information IMMEDIATELY call your bank and report your number stolen and have them issue you a new card. The way this thing runs I'm fairly certain the people doing it are most likely in a foreign country. It's a good scam but it is a scam. read more

Easy to set up. Then they called back and said they had to reschedule because they didn't have a Tech at that available time. Tech. was very messy and my wife and I had to scrub the devices clean she installed. The worst. Their online advertising claims them to be better than Geek Squad. So, I called them out to fix my remotes. I had three networks operating and wanted ti get all on one network. The "technician" they send fixed it all. And charged me for various things related to "programming remotes". Two weeks later the whole setup crashed. He came out again. He reinstalled everything, reconfigured everything, and charged me $203... to do the exact thing he did before for $139. And, it still does NOT work right. I complained to HelloTech and they sent me a curt email that all was working when the "technician" left. They gave me a partial refund. Worst customer service ever. Had Nest installed in December when we moved in. Assumed the technician checked our both heat and AC before he left. Shame on me for not insisting. Went to turn on AC when weather started heating up. What came through the vents? Hot air! AC would not work. Called Hello Tech, the same technician who installed it, Austin B. refused to stop by and help. Then Hello Tech refused to provide support because initial installation was in December and supposedly heating functionality was working. So I would have to pay $99 and open new ticket. New tech Myles E. looked at thermostat and went outside. He talked to someone at hellotech. Came by inside and said I need to call HVAC specialist. Hello Tech does not want to take on liability or responsibility. Will never use this company again. read more

The technician was very nice however he was here for 5 hours and my NEST was NOT installed. I called another tech service that came the next day and completed the job. My money was not refunded and my thermostat was cracked from the attempted install. Ontech was slightly more expensive but did an excellent job! read more

Thomas was extremely helpful, and made sure that none of our furniture was scratched or damages by kindly asking to move furniture, and moving the furniture with care. He was very kind, and made sure to ask for my opinion on where I'd like my mount placed best, as well as, how high/low we would like the mount before mounting anything. The absolute worst tech help in setting up a new laptop. I purchased their service through Amazon when I bought the computer. Shows up an hour late after a three hour window. Spent more time receiving & sending texts. apparently personal. Not very personable & very non communicative. Started off wanting a $154.00 more to move some files from the old computer to the new. I had to show him what the Amazon purchase of this service provided. Left before Norton downloading was finished & didnt show you where anything was. This was a great experience. He is a very nice, clean guy, and he definitely knew what he was doing. Yes, my problem was as elementary as one can get, but it was a problem that I couldn't live without fixing. The icing on the cake was that the price was absolutely reasonable. I had checked out another geek service's website before I found Geekatoo and their price was ridiculous. My problem was with my monitor/graphics, and for the price they were charging I could have just bought a new monitor -- seriously. This saved me a great deal of aggravation I would have suffered by either continuing to try to figure it out myself or going out in the zillion degree heat and shopping for a new one (which I thought I was going to have to do).
