Another company laid in wait in our neighborhood waiting for people to move in so they could bad mouth this company and steal their business. The company's shady tactics was a real turn off. Caldwell however, has been in business in El Paso Texas for 42 years and is trustworthy and reliable. Caldwell is the smart home provider for the homes here and does the pre-installs. Once the home-buyer moves in the equipment is expertly installed by Jorge and his crew. I highly recommend Caldwell for your smart home needs!

We scheduled a time for them to give me a quote in which Jim and his worker (Jorge) came and said they it would take 2-3 hrs off work at 75 an hour and they would also trace and mark the wires. I agreed. Jorge and his helper showed up and spent 3 and a half hours in which we were charged for 3 per the quote and did not solve anything. They were very friendly and kind people but all they did was mark the wires and said the speakers work but that they didn't have the amp that is required to make them work. It has now been 3 weeks since they came out and they have yet to give a quote or bring the required amp needed to get my speakers ready. So basically I paid nearly 300 for them to just mark my wires and tell me the speakers are working property but didn't actually fulfill what they were contracted to do, which was get my speakers working. I already new my speakers work well. They were trying to also up sell me but after them not being able to perform such a simple task, I will have to go elsewhere to complete this job and the rest. They make awesome promises and are nice people but are pretty bad technically. I basically had to guide them to the impedance problem in which an amp is required to fix along with the additional outputs.

The initial install looked clean, but the long-term experience has been frustrating and expensive. The first major issue involved the bedroom system, where I was told the amplifier had failed and was advised to replace it. I purchased a new Anthem MCA 225, only to later find the actual problem was loose speaker wire connections. That's not a component failure--that's a basic wiring issue that should have been caught immediately. The second issue was a failure of the Marantz AV8805 processor (power supply), followed by a complete loss of all five channels on the Parasound A51. During this process, I was directed toward costly solutions, including installing a dedicated 20-amp circuit and purchasing a Furman P-2400 AR voltage regulator. Those may be appropriate components in a system of this level, but they should have been part of the original design--not recommended only after failures and misdiagnosis had already occurred. Most recently, when the A51 was removed for shipment, it was not packaged with its original internal foam, which is essential for protecting equipment of that size and weight. The amplifier arrived damaged in transit. That's not a shipping problem--that's improper packing and handling. To be fair, the rack layout and cable routing were solid. But system integration, troubleshooting, and equipment handling did not match the level of the equipment or the price point. For a company representing itself in the high-end home theater space, the execution here did not reflect that level of expertise or attention to detail. If you're considering this company, I would strongly recommend verifying all work, confirming system configuration yourself, and making sure any equipment handling or shipping is done properly. If you're comfortable being the one paying for repeated visits to diagnose and fix issues that should have been handled correctly the first time, then this may be the company for you. For me, it became a pattern I couldn't ignore.
