One word. Insulting. I have spent over $20,000 in the last 12 months at this establishment for a home audio system. Patrick was my salesperson and was awesome. Made the entire experience pleasant and ended up with a great system. Called 2 weeks ago to have them order me two sets of headphones. They have a 60 day return policy and I was upfront about testing both and possibly bringing one back within the 60 days if I didn't like both (one is open back and one is closed back). They charged my credit card the full amount (new retail prices) when they "ordered" them. Just got a call from them saying that both pairs are in but they are used (not new) and I would have to come into the store to test them and couldn't take them home...EXCUSE ME? Someone from this store visited my home, spent nearly 1-1/2 hours taking notes and talking about possible solutions, and said he would send me a list of recommendations and prices. After 2 weeks of hearing nothing I called and he said he was in the middle of balancing a turntable but would call right back. He never did. A week later I left a message asking if he was still interested in the work to please call. He never did. To be frank, I was impressed with the gentleman's knowledge and was looking forward to working with him. But I could never recommend a company this discourteous even if they are knowledgeable. read more

I've been a Control4 user for the past 6 years and have had a mixed bag of experiences with my 2 previous Control4 dealers. I recently enlisted ListenUp as my official Control4 dealer. I needed a light switch/dimmer and Comcast DVR installed into the system. As many of you Control4 users will understand, these are not trivial tasks - or perhaps it was made to seem that way by prior dealers. The tech, Jonathan, arrived ON TIME and proceeded to fully understand my needs and went to work. Suffice to say, within 25 minutes the whole task was completed! I was very pleasantly surprised. In the past, this would likely have been a 2-3 hour session with lots of mumbling and fumbling about. Took forever...months to get an appointment for them to come to my house and fix the system they installed. Seemed disinterested from the get-go. Tech who finally came to the house was a nice guy, but after banging around the house, he left with a vague explanation of what was wrong. Said someone would get back to me. They did...sent me a bill for the visit. I knew the visit would be billed to me, but some interest in a solution would be nice. Nope. Nothing. No effort. No call. Wasted my money. Home system still doesn't work, now my cable is down, and I lost sound in speakers in two rooms that worked. Ugh! read more

We have spent about $10k on electronics at the ListenUp store in Albuquerque over the last 2 years: Magnepan 3.7s, Furman power filter, Samsung 8000 series TV, NAD amp, etc, etc. The atmosphere is laid paid and there are no high pressure sales tactics used here! We have spent HOURS comparing various electronics in their showroom. They even let us bring in our PS3 to compare it to an Oppo in regards to Blu-Ray playback. We hooked up both to the high end Sony TV they had on display and spent an hour comparing. When we were looking at TVs, we spent a few hours calibrating TVs and comparing the picture quality. I originally bought a pair of Magnepan 1.7s and then did the trade up program to the Magnepan 3.7s. The upgrade process was simple and easy. My experiences have been extremely positive. How many places are going to let you tinker with electronics before you buy? I highly recommend this place! We are customers for life along with numerous other people that have shopped here for years. Over the years their pricing has become very competitive. I would be more than willing to pay (somewhat) more due to the excellent service they provide. I recently bought from ListenUp a last-year's display-model Sony Bravia 4K OLED TV at a discounted price. They delivered it for free. Upon first setup I immediately was disappointed with the picture quality. It was no big deal at all to return this unit and upgrade to a brand-new, current-model unit. They of course picked up the first unit and delivered the new one. The new unit exceeds my expectations of quality in every way. When it's time to buy a new 4K receiver and Blu-ray player, I will definitely be buying from ListenUp. I bought B&W headphones from ListenUp a few years ago. The dog just chewed them up. Hudson's is a small local business that's been around as long as I can remember. They gave up on car audio because thieves kept crashing cars into their store front to get the good stuff. You will find nothing but the highest end audio here, mated with premium home theater setups. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The only thing I hate about Hudson's is going back home and hearing how inadequate my current speakers sound. read more
