We asked Kimbrough Electric to install a light over a pool table in our house. We received an…read moreinitial free visit + estimate since the job was not straightforward (20 foot ceiling, over a pool table that could not be moved, installing an antique fixture) Although the initial conversation led us to believe we could install the light a certain way (with a special cord that would also support its weight) when it came time to do the job, the electricians on site realized this would not work and explained why. Instead of leaving and coming back a different time, they did everything possible to help us make decisions on how it could and should be done, and even drove to the store to purchase the parts we needed (gold colored chains and gold colored wires in this case) and sent pictures via smartphone so we knew what we were getting. Because of this and a few other unexpected complications we were told that the cost may go over the estimate if continued as a two-person job. We were given the option to send one electrician away, as long as I could stay and help by handing tools and such to the remaining electrician (Mike) who was up on the scaffolding (which they also had to rent custom so it would slide around the pool table) We opted for this and Mike walked us through every step to make sure he was installing it exactly how we wanted. He even advised that we could spray paint the junction-boxes and other small parts so they would match the chains and blend with the wood ceiling better. (Mike also picked up the spray-paint at the store) In the end, it came out PERFECT (and likely better than the way we had originally wanted it) and within the original estimate. Mike then went and returned the items from the store we didn't end up using to arrive at the final cost. We received a final invoice shortly after. We very much appreciated the "let's figure out the best way to do this on-time and on-budget" attitude. Mike was a professional, budget-conscious, satisfaction-oriented electrician.
