I was at Target off Coleman and went on Doordash to look for nearby boba. Didn't realized I had to change address for it to locate locations nearby as I thought it would pick up current location automatically. Long story short, I saw this tea bar and it's near home so I placed an order for pickup. Pick up stated about 20 minutes and it was ready within 10 minutes and I arrived a little past 10 minutes. This tea bar used to be another tea bar where there were lots of BTS organized events. It's gone through several ownership and tea bar names. I ordered the following and it was stapled up in a brown paper bag which I don't prefer as it warms the drink up and creates moist which softens the chicken. The box was also closed up instead of partially closed so that the chicken doesn't softened up. I immediately took it out of the bag as soon as I was in my car. 1. Thai Crème brûlée tea w/ boba, 50% sweet regular ice: Crème brûlée is my fav dessert so of course this drink called my name. It's a delish drink! At first I thought it was a little sweet with the boba and the brûlée crean as I was drinking from the bottom of the drink. Once it's mixed up, the drink tasted much better and not as sweet. The brûlée cream is very creamy and thick with a hint of saltiness. I would like better if the brûlée cream was on top to push the straw down as I drink so that it's more like a dessert. Just my preference. :) And, I am not sure if I would be willing to pay almost $10 for a boba drink (Drink is $8.50 plus extra for boba) 2. Popcorn Chicken, extra spicy: The snack came with a sweetened chili sauce container and a small container of chili powder on the side. The chicken batter is very different from others and I can definitely taste the spices. The level of spicy I requested was not that spicy but the side chili powder was good to have to add more in for a kick. The chicken had a slight crunch and not a crispy crunch like other tea bars. Some pieces were thick and some were thin. The thick pieces were moist while the thin pieces were dry. There are some seating and a cute wall for you to take pictures if you like. Not busy at all when we walked in, but it's Chinese NYs and they were preparing orders for pickup, so we waited a little but, the cashier was friendly enough to say, she'll be right w/us as she answered the phone, taking orders as they were coming in via online. This place must've changed the names more then 3Xs since I've been here but, I'm not trip's cause as long as they have Brown Sugar MilkT (YAYYY) looked a little water when I got it, but I guess the flavor remains the same. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte, and it tasted okay. The matcha taste is almost non-existent, and tasted more salty than it did sweet. However, the strawberry puree at the bottom balanced it out. As for ordering it again, I probably won't. The pandan waffle was alright as well. I liked the coconut bits in it, but it's also on the less sweet side. The barista that helped me out was very nice to me, and even helped me wipe down my table. I wouldn't say this tea shoppe is a good place to study though. There is free wifi, ambient music, and not much of a crowd, but it's difficult to find an outlet plus the lack of a public restroom. Hidden gem in San Jose! I've been coming here since Hello Tea's grand opening and my favorite drink is the strawberry matcha latte with honey boba, regular sweetness and less ice. You can always adjust the sweetness level and ice level based on your preference. The cashiers are very polite and patient. There are couches to sit on inside and the decorations here are Instagram-worthy. One thing that makes them stand out is their pandan waffles. They're more expensive than most places but that's because their waffles are THICK, and I mean THICK AF. I can definitely taste the pandan and biting into them is so satisfying. Okay found this place randomly on DoorDash and it looked amazing... the Thai Brûlée looks and tastes AMAZING. The plaza that this store is located in could definitely use an update. Despite the exterior, the interior of this store is definitely cute. There's a flower backdrop type of set up where you can take photos. My teen however is more so embarrassed to even try. There's updated lounge chairs and ottomans where you can wait for your drink or sit and enjoy with good company. As for their drink items and snacks, I particularly like their pandan waffle, each one is $4, and freshly made. When cooked properly they're delicious, warm, lightly toasted with a slightly chewy texture. My kids and I love it! There was however, one occasion where they actually burned my pandan waffle, and they still served it! I actually didn't realize it until I got home, it had burnt areas that were bitter even my kids refused to eat it. So now I definitely take a quick glance at them when I order it. The latest one I ordered was their avocado smoothie, and their avocado smoothie tasted spoiled or rancid, from the moment it touched my tongue. I don't know if they didn't wash their blender cup well, but ewww it was pretty unpleasant! That was two $7 avocado smoothies wasted! Hello Tea is the latest boba spot to occupy the Capitol and McLaughlin intersection. For some reason, boba places love this San Jose location. Unfortunately, they don't last long enough. We'll see how far this one goes. So, I decided to get boba here at the time because it's not good to drink booze while you're out on the road, and I needed something for this mad feeling I'm still experiencing for quite a while. I blame people like the Rockies and Twins for winning when they should be losing. Did the butterfly tea and pandan waffle that I bought help? Not really, though I can type that the place has cute girls and yes girls, a cute guy also. The good. Like that last place that occupied the intersection, the place is open late. There are plenty of drinks, and I think I saw a tiramisu theme drink, which sounds interesting. Even if the tea and waffle didn't help with the mad feeling, they did taste good. The waffle has chocolate syrup, which is unusual. The bad. I know I should blame nerves for the staff, as the place has been open for not long, but though you'll see just two flaws here, one of them is that bothersome. Though the place has a simple layout, the place doesn't have a strong aura of stealing visits from other spots for me to return if I'm pointing at not only the fundamental bobble, but at the visuals, as the I guess cute pig logo ("I guess cute" was typed up as I thought of Bebop unfortunately) is only backed up by a random city image. Regarding the more bothersome flaw, while the place did remember to cut the sweetness of my drink by half, and it has no spending requirement before using your card, supposedly there's a point card system, or I'm thinking that there's supposed to be one. I didn't get the sign I was looking for in needing to type a number these days, and this is the severe reason why I wish these places own physical cards instead of using a phone number system. There is a flaw that I forgot, but the flaws I did mention are there. Hello Tea technically should get a 4 at the very least. The place tries, and it has a start, but there are just too many boba places out there, and multiple places are cuter, more fundamentally sound or in rare cases, both. So, I need to give a 3 or I feel the place can't grow. Can the place keep its brightness pumping, or will it drown within 5 years to be kind, 3 years to be logical? I don't want to be a pessimist or realist here, but it could be the latter based on past history of the intersection. I hope the place proves me wrong. Prove me wrong staff! +: Happy has hope, as it has cute staff and some boldness along with decent consumables. -: To use a "Super Puzzle Fighter II X" flair for this section, the place is like Morrigan's traits as in, the place is sexy early on, but the appeal potentially wanes late in the game or in this case, life span because here, the place doesn't have good long run hooks for me whether it's the lack of a point card system or the lack of cuteness. read more

By the time we sat outside with the food, the worker comes up to us and expects us to pay for the food order that we didn't order. Completely unprofessional.
