Very good Indian food. It is essentially a restaurant counter in a supermarket. You walk up and order your food. Some appetizers are available immediately, but the rest is cooked in the kitchen. There is a large seating area with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is quite large with, all of the Indian favorites you can imagine. Plenty of vegetarian options too. I used to frequent this place often when life was less complicated, to enjoy a side of crisp onion pakora and a cup of steaming hot chai. The location is also great, at the head of a busy intersection close to the freeway. On this occasion, it was delivery, and I ordered a few dishes to see how their food was faring during the new normal. The crispy chicken appetizer left a lot to be desired, lacking in both a lot of the deep fried crispy texture, as well as bordering on being dry. The chicken fried rice had the same issue in terms of the meat itself, but was very well seasoned and flavorful with lots of crunch from the veggies. The butter chicken at this establishment was creamy and well executed, and the breads were complimentary. Overall, a decent option to get your grub on, but I do feel its real strengths lie in the ancillary services of the butchery and grocery that they provide patrons who visit their establishment. So my cousin told me that this store had the best chai. I'm from Oklahoma and craved some good hot chai while traveling. We stood in line of the store that sold hot snacks, chai and Indian groceries. I stood in this long line for ordering only to be told the chai line is separate. I stood in another long line. I had the Iranian chai, it was very strong, thicker than I like it usually but still good. I think next time I would want the masala chai instead. I had bought some Kerela style snacks (mixture, Koral appum ,achapam). The snacks were great and we had enough energy to keep traveling afterwards. I came back at home and I was about to open the box in kitchen and have the cake and to my surprise, the cake was full of mold and fungi. I was utterly disgusted. I was not expecting the food quality to be of such a rock bottom quality. Being so many Indian restaurants and grocery stores in Irving, customers choose Hello India to be the go to for quick bite and cup of tea and this is not something that customers should deserve.
