I have never actually been to this Aldi before, I was just in the area. There isn't one near me, so I tend to stop by random ones if I am then going home. One thing I LOVE and constantly check their ads for...the organic grass fed ground beef. They don't always have it on sale, and a lot of times you have to buy a 4lb pack, but it is FANTASTIC. If you don't buy into the grass fed organics, that's fine, leave it for the rest of us. If you find it for $3.99...stock your freezer. Then make meatballs. Or burgers. Something that shows off the meat. I don't eat a lot of red meat at home but this is the only ground beef I buy. Today, I found it in single pound packages. I tend to freeze them in packs of 3/4 pounds, so I am not wasting food. Other than the beef, I love their cheeses. Score one for goat cheese under $2. Baguettes, vegetables, and their packs of microwavable rice which are perfect for meal prepping. Also at Christmas I got my sister a wine advent calendar here, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Go, Aldi. Bring a quarter for a buggy (which you'll get back), and your own reusable bags. I bring my tote, it says totes ma goat..and has a goat on it. Or, pay for grocery bags.

Supermarket - Whole Foods has lots of organic offerings, so the prices here are more than other places. Their white label "365 by Whole Food Market" isn't as expensive as commercial organic labels but still is pricy. But what makes this Whole Foods stand out for me is they have a small bar with beers on tap. Also, the prepared food is really good. If you don't want to cook, you can come here and choose items that you can prepare from sides (Mac & Cheese, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables), global dishes (Indian curries, Asian stir-fries, and Mediterranean platters), and even seasonal entrées and sides that rotate regularly. Still they have some hard to find items or produce that we like to have in the house. I sometimes pick up the pre-prepared bibimbap veggies and some herbs and perilla leaves. Also maybe mugwart (sometimes I don't know what I'm getting but my SO does and she points it out so I know what it looks like but not what it's called). Recently I could not find a certain type of seaweed anywhere else but Komart had it. It's never crowded and service has always been helpful for me. I have not eaten at the little cafe. I always stop at Ajumma after Komart and get some kimbap or soondae to go.

Winco was new to me and while not related to WinDixie it has a range of basic and affordable house brands as well as name brands. with a good produce section. I'm not sure about the meet dept but it looked clean, well organized and stocked. I was there for bread and eggs and left with two heavy and tightly packed bags of food for under $50. I won't be hitting the HEB at dawn/ 7AM anymore to beat the crowds, I'll do Winco once a month when I wake up early at 4AM and can get there from Plano with zero traffic and red lights. They have better prices on a lot of things than Walmart and certainly than Kroger. If your grocery bill is exploding the last year or two try shopping here at least once a month. Best part was the checker said they are an employee owned company which is a huge plus to me over over these chains that are gouging people over profits on food and staples while not giving any benefits because they mostly staff with part timers.
