Well, This Trader Joe's is off my list, snooty employees and even more snotty managers! Most of the items I purchase here are within days of expiring. Like my Greek Chicken Salad I purchased yesterday (14th) expired on Monday August 17th. I was bringing back a Chicken Parmesan which I had purchased 2 of and I was only returning the 2nd one, since my elderly MIL did not care for the item. I was not wanting cash, but to add the return to my grocery bill. The manager refused my return ( rudely!!!) since the date was expired. This is very quickly becoming one of my favorite TJ's locations!! Mostly because let's be real I'm bias that it is near my hot yoga studio. This is a wonderful spot to stock up on your favorites for the work week. I am in love with all of their fall teas and coffees. I did notice also that this location stays stocked up with different beverage selections so whether you like tea, coffee, juice or whatever gets you going they have you covered! I grabbed an unsweetened matcha tea to try in the AM before teaching early morning spin, so we will see how it goes. The service was impeccable and the cashiers are always chatty and friendly. I just love my Trader Joe's. It's we'll sit led and beautifully designed. The florals and plants are always plentiful. Anytime I take my daughter she's offered candy or stickers. Store associates are easy to find and quick to help, if you're looking for something they won't stop until they have an answer for you. Usually I prefer shopping at Trader Joe's over other grocery stories, because all Trader Joe's products are advertised as non-gmo. Yesterday, my family and I purchased a cart of groceries, one item being "Joe-Joe's" (a healthier knockoff off the beloved "Oreo" cookies). I've been a fan of "Joe-Joe's" for a while and they have been an item I've re-purchased on multiple occasions. Yesterday I broke into the box and started snacking on maybe a little less than 1/3 of the cookies. Today, I brought them back out and ate a handful of some. At some point I came across one which I set down immediately and started recording (photo attached bc Yelp doesn't allow video footage). I proceeded to throw out the box and now I'm leaving this review. Overall I'm just thoroughly disappointed in such a promising grocery store. Love our neighborhood Trader Joe's. Always has everything we need and is located right down the street from us. We switch between Tom Thumb and Trader Joe's, and sometimes it depends on what we're looking for, but more often than not it's TJ's for us. Whether is for a week of meal or just a quick snack, TJ's has great options for all. My favorite part might be the samples. They always have a couple appetizing options and some dessert every now and then. Those never disappoint. I know we're not alone in our love for TJ's because it's packed every time we go. I wouldn't say it's crowded but you can tell that it's other people's first option as well. I would recommend getting your meat from here. Also if your looking for some solid wine choices at a lower price point, Traders has some great options (I don't know anyone who hasn't liked the Cocobon Red Blend.) read more

You know TJ has won an Asian girl's heart when it's replaced Chinatown and Korean town for delicious frozen dumplings. Located on the northeast corner of Inwood Village (facing Lovers Lane), this store carries all of my traditional TJ favorites. The frozen chicken and pork dumplings are easy to prepare, and MSG-free to boot. The coconut macaroons are made with more egg white and less sugar - just how I like it. Even the layout of the aisles, efficiency of the staff, and upbeat spirit in the air are reminiscent of its wonderful sibling store on Greenville. There's plenty of parking in the complex, though it can be tricky to pull out during peak hours. This is certainly a much-needed store on the western edge of Highland Park. It's the perfect spot to grocery-shop after a movie at the historical Inwood Theater, or a meal at one of the many great restaurants in the complex. This location also benefits those of us down in the medical district: poor students who still love great food! read more

How do I love thee Trader Joe's? Let me count the ways: 1) Staff - super friendly, helpful, amazing staff! Getting greeted with a genuine smile makes ME smile, and feel happy while I'm there. I know it sounds touchy-feely-hoky, but it's a nice place to shop because of the staff, and you feel it from the moment you walk in the door (or the sidewalk if you encounter a staff member outside). Cute thing they do: they casually ring a "dinner bell" at the check out to summon other clerks when a line has more than 1 person waiting. I LOVE that they value my time as much as my business! 2) Tastings - yummy tastings every time I come in...like, YUMMY so much that I always buy one of the two things they are sampling (check out the wasabi mayo - see photo). 3) Fresh Fruits & Veggies - grab a little or a lot, they are so fresh and beautifully displayed you just feel healthy walking by them. 4) Pre-made salads - this is so nice to be able to grab a salad (leafy, chicken, potato, or grain) and go. 5) Cheeses & Meats - the cheeses are tasty & well priced, same goes for the meats. I didn't love the Spanish cheeses, but that's my only "so-so" experience with the cheese. Favorite meats: Daniele, Inc. Gourmet Deli Selection of Calabrese Salame, Del Duca Prosciutto, and Capocollo (see photo) My husband is addicted to these meats! It's such a great package for quick snacks when having guests over. And affordable too @ $4.99. Favorite cheeses: Trader Joe's brand of havarti and smoked Gouda. 6) WINE!!! They have a seemingly small selection of wines, but it's a perfect mix of what you might need. My favorite Spanish wines are always in stock at a great price (see photo). Actually, their prices are LESS than we paid IN Spain a few months ago. 7) Gluten free - for those of us dealing with gluten issues, they have tons of selection for gluten free eating. Need some help? They have a hand-out, or one of the super nice staff will walk you around to find them. It's weird but sourdough bread is somehow ok when eating gluten free, and I'm pretty set on only buying Trader Joe's sourdough these days. They also have an almond meal that is great for adding fiber to your baking/cooking with a nutty flavor. 8) Snacks, sweets & pre-made foods: great trail mix, fresh nuts, amazing cookies (see photos) and my top 2 snacks: white bean hummus w/ basil (super awesome healthy snack...I actually crave it, it's so good - see photo) and frozen chicken tacos (fell in love at a tasting - see photo). My daughter loves these cute little small round whole grain crackers that look like mini Ritz crackers, but taste a whole lot better (see photo). Favorite sweet treat: dark chocolate bars in a pkg of 3 (yes, I'm that girl they market to for impulse purchases) at the check-out counter (see photo). It's the best dark chocolate I've found, and I've bought all the expensive stuff that Whole Foods & Central Market stocks. Bottom line: they pack a giant store into this small space...you're pretty much guaranteed to love everything you buy. This is a great Trader Joe's location. It is located just off of Lover's Lane. There is plenty of parking and the location is a little larger than the Greenville location. The staff was super helpful and helped me find some items I was trying to locate. They definitely went above and beyond to make sure we were finding what we needed. I came for to Trader Joe's to buy myself flowers for the first time cause why not! It was my first time at this location and i came from the other side of Dallas but it was worth the trip and i will make the drive back any day. As i was looking for a specific bottle of wine i accepted defeat and began to ask the nearest employee over the counter for help. Before i knew it Beth ran around the counter and let me know they didnt have what i was looking for. She asked me what kind of wine it was and maybe she could help me find the next best thing. I needed that specific wine so i told her i would keep browsing. Moral of the story was Beth is amazing and so very helpful. She put her customer first and you can tell Beth is confident in what she does. All I can say is that it feels good to receive the kind of customer service that i strive so hard to give to others. I'd like to send an enormous THANK YOU to the store manager at the 7939 Walnut Hill store in Dallas. On a very cold, icy day, I drove to the store to buy groceries. When I got into my car to leave, my car would not start. The battery was suddenly dead. I called my car's dealer, but they only had one roadside responder who was not available. They suggested having it towed. I went back into the store and found Mark, the manager. He was happy to give me a jump and when a space opened up next to my vehicle, he pulled his truck in next to me and went to work. Mark was so gracious and supportive. It was freezing and he never made me feel that I was a problem. He did everything he could and was so patient and happy to help. Thank you so much, Mark! Unfortunately everything we tried, including putting a new battery in my key fob, did not start the car. Mark even sourced google for advice on my car's year and model. At that point we'd done everything possible. Then, I received a call back from Sewell on Lemon. My original call was forwarded to a repair specialist. He arranged to send a new battery out to me at Trader Joe's with a person who would install the battery right thereI Mark invited me back into the store to wait and stay warm. So, thoughtful! Not very long after the call from Sewell, Sal arrived and did just that! Thanks to you too, Sal, for your professionalism and courteous help! Great location for this Trader Joe's off Lover's and the Tollway. Its in the same shopping center as Inwood Theatre so you can catch a movie and then grab a few grocery items you need. From the looks of it, its bigger than the location on Greenville Ave which is always a plus. They have a great selection of cheese and what I would call appetizers and frozen foods. While I have not done all my grocery shopping here yet its a great place to stop to pick up specialty items or things I might need. And given the city environment it's a perfect fit. I've heard so much about Trader Joe's, and I occasionally like to do my grocery shopping at a alternative spot other than Kroger just to shake things up, so I headed to Joe's. I've never been into a TJ's before, and when I got there it was a lot smaller than I imagined. I guess I'm used to the large open spaced Kroger or the long winding paths of food in the Whole Foods and Central Market stores. Trader Joe's is packed with "Trader Joe's" products. You won't find most of your traditional labels, but trust me, this isn't a bad thing. The TJ products are awesome! They have a lot of ready made frozen products and a lot of packaged products on the shelves that are better than your traditional mass produced products because most of these are all natural or organic. Their dairy and meat selections are good, but personally they offer a lot of frozen seafood and just some fresh, which was a slight drawback for me. Another drawback was the produce section. They have a lot of quality stuff, but there wasn't too much of a variety of fresh fruits and veggies. They have a huge wine selection for a grocery store...they definitely didn't skimp on the wines. If you're in the area and just need a bottle, this isn't a bad place to drop in and browse. I really like Trader Joe's, but I don't think that I can totally abandon Kroger. This is a very nice alternative..probably one that I will go to every month or so. It's an awesome store, but I need something with a little more variety and a little more produce to frequent on a more regular basis. read more

I love love love this grocery store, as a vegan person I feel very comfortable going here cause I know I'm going to find very good and healthy alternatives for my diet, there are substitutes for almost every product you will consume as a non-vegan and that's amazing and also the great and fresh vegetables and fruit selection they have it is great. As to the food, they have something for everyone. I am mostly interested in the great prices for good quality organic produce. They have a lot of prepared foods that I won't buy because they are too pricey but they look great and are very enticing. They look far better than the usual supermarket stuff. I'm a big fan of Trader Joe's, but I've had bad luck with the food at this location. You should definitely eat the fresh fruit and vegetables shortly after buying them, but you should also check for moldy produce while in the store. The first time I bought strawberries here, the cashier caught the moldy package and got me another. The second time I bought some fruit here, it looked fine and I went to eat it shortly before the "consume by" date only to find that my mangoes were furry and some of the strawberries were too. Additionally the package of bread I bought had a rip in the back of the bag and I didn't notice until I got home and the bread seemed harder than usual. Finally, a box of frozen fruit bars I bought popped open because the glue didn't hold the box shut and I don't know if it was already like this at the store or if it just happened as I drove home. Trader Joe's will give a refund if you're not happy with your purchase, but since there's no Trader Joe's withing a 5 mile radius from me, I don't see myself lugging back a paper bag with moldy strawberries and mangoes and hard bread. Just check your food thoroughly before you buy it. On a positive note, this store is always clean, organized, and it seems to be less crowded than the others. The employees are friendly. read more
