Farm to table adorable eatery and more. They serve breakfast and lunch. Pastries. Cafe baristas get your drinks out fast. Local food and goods. An absolute abundance of Heirloom seeds. Friendly staff Ample seating for large parties or quaint little tables for 1
This place looked really cute so I decided to check it out. There isn't the best parking in the area but it was worth the trip. The outside and inside areas had a great vibe. The marketplace had a lot of interesting things you could buy. I went for coffee and I got an iced mocha latte. The prices were reasonable compared to other cafes. The service was great and my coffee was ready super fast even though it was very busy inside. I would definitely go back to try out their food as well.
I love a market cafe combo! I had the yogurt bowl with a homemade fruit compote and an expertly crafted scone with a perfectly crunchy exterior and soft interior, barely sweet served with seasonal peach jam and butter. The matcha was also nice and strong. My friend loved her breakfast burrito. I can't wait to go back and try the biscuit egg sandwiches and muffins! The eggs look so fluffy. They also had several gf options.
This is such a cute market. They have a sandwich and bakery counter, a coffee counter, and a section full of seed packets. We had a delicious lunch down the road at The Charles so we weren't hungry but we bought their huge chocolate chip cookies and their ginger cookies. They were both delicious! There is a lot of seating inside in multiple rooms and they have nice outdoor tables too.
Amazing quaint antique feel. Little farm market cafe combo straight out of the 18th century. Welcoming employees, great set up! The building is beautiful, soo much unique seating indoors and outside! Impeccable attention to detail... *** FOOD Delicious, hand made biscuits, baked goods, breads. Hummus toast, Avocado Toast, Breakfast Biscuit, all solid options. Great coffee. Wonderful presentation and small time vibes, I feel like I just walked out of an episode of the Gilmore Girls.
Very cute place. We tried lunch here. We ordered the brisket & ham/fig sandwich. Quality meat & good portion. I just thought it would be better. Both sandwiches were a little dry and maybe heating them up would elevate them a little? The ambiance is absolutely beautiful, though. We ate in the greenhouse area and I could easily see myself coming back and hanging out here with a coffee. There are tons of plugs and ample seating. I would come again and try breakfast and/or coffee and a pastry.
We stopped into Heirloom Market on a weekday morning for a late breakfast/morning snack. The market has speciality food items and produce. They have a very large space of tables for eating or chatting and relaxing. The service is super friendly. They have pastries as well as other food items made to order. We ordered some gluten free pastries and a (non gf) biscuit, egg, and cheese, along with a coffee. The pastries were good. The biscuit for the biscuit, egg, and cheese, was really enjoyed. A great place to stop into in Historic Wethersfield, and see the scarecrows in October!
The only thing keeping my rating from being a 5, was the wait. Beyond the wait the few people handing out orders seeing myself and my niece being the last two standing at the pickup counter. Not one person said Ive noticed a few sets of people have gone through and you're still here. Let me check on your order for you? Instead when we were 2nd to last I had to go up to the counter and say - I know you're busy but can you check on our order? The food was delicious! The cold cuts so fresh. The bread soft on the inside and just the right amount of crunch on the outside. They also served homemade pickles with our sandwiches. I love pickles I just prefer garlic pickles. Besides our lunch they had a large selection of seeds for planting flowers, and vegetables to search through and a cute market - so its not all about eating!
Good coffee and cookies, not as great hot foods Came here for a sweet treat while up and about. This place came up as a popular spot, so we made the trek for some drinks and snacks. The place is in a well kept historical district, a little fancier than your standard locations, but in a New England fashion. The barn is a combo of old and new with heavy leanings on the old. It inside is expansive but clean. Worn but not dilapidated. The back of the house had the coffee and bakery. we got a bahn mi, some cookies, and a latte. Food came out after a bit of a delay, but not too long of a wait. The cookies were good. The peanut butter miso was the star of the show, but the snickerdoodle was a solid contender. The chocolate chip was a little too crisp and I didn't like the chocolate choice. But still not a bad cookie. Coffee was giv beans, which I really enjoy. The latte was basic, but the coffee was strong and wasn't washed out by the milk. The bahn mi was interesting. The veggies were heavily vinegared and had a slight funk to them like a kimchi. Combined with the chicken pate and the beer marinate pork gave the sandwich a very cheese funk which was very unexpected. The pulled pork was tasty, and the veggies were crisp, but the funk was strong. The choice in bread was also off. The veggies were drenched and the excess liquid sopped into the soft roll, leading to a very soggy and messy bite. It was a fun try, but not one I would try again. I would stick to the bakery and coffee and avoid the hot foods for the moment. Besides those issues, it's a nice location and a good bakery.
Heirloom is my go-to spot whenever my cookie or sweet tooth craving hits, especially if I'm nearby. Let me tell you, it never disappoints! I appreciate it so much every time I stop in because I'll go months without visiting, and when I do, all I want is something from their bakery window. Today, I treated myself to a cookie.. ok maybe 2 cookies (of course!) and also tried their gluten-free pancake donuts! They looked amazing and tasted just as good! I sat outside, enjoyed my cookie, and took a little breather before continuing my errands. Such a nice moment. Love that they have tables outside to enjoy. The staff here are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better.
Big fan of Heirloom Market! It's a beautiful cafe and community space complete with a small selection of local grocery items too. They now serve alcohol, and offer an "after dark" menu some days of the week. You can't go wrong with their menu! It's full of creative items and farm fresh ingredients. Call me basic, but their avocado toast is my go to. It's structurally sound because they make the toast nice and crunchy and it's topped with a generous portion of avocado, soft boiled egg, pickled onions, and radish. It's the absolute perfect combo! On our most recent trip my husband had the pickle melt, which was full of homemade pickled vegetables and cheese. We also had a bowl of corn gazpacho which was delicious and herbaceous, perfect on a warm day. They also have a great selection of baked goods to choose from. Their chocolate chip cookies are 100/10, but everything I've tried has been fabulous. Go take a stroll around Old Wethersfield and stop by to check them out!
Stopped by for breakfast bright and early before. Love the rustic feel as soon as you walk in! I ordered the Avocado Toast and the table split a Chocolate Banana Muffin and Bananna Bread. Very easy to order at the counter, get a buzzer for your food and wait for your drinks. Everything came out fast and tasted so fresh and very yummy! Lots of seating -- for privacy or even to grab a bite and work a bit, head up stairs where there is more seating. In addition to the food prepared lots of fun food items for purchase as well. Great and easy street parking. While i dined for breakfast, they have a stellar lunch menu as well with some amazing sandwiches!
Awesome spot for food and seeds! Cute little market too! We got a bacon egg and cheese on wheat bread and a cold brew coffee

A lovely step back in time. A rustic escape from reality to grab a fantastic latte for only $3.25. Not a lot of keto options but still worth the trip to historic olde Wethersfield. Definitely a great spot to meet a date. read more

Just outside Hartford this place is both quaint and modern. The food was good as we're the drinks. I ordered a hummus plate and a dirty chai both were delicious. There was a mix up on the restaurants end with an order of extra pita and the folks were very apologetic and nice enough to pack me a new hummus platter. They threw in a cookie to boot! The greenhouse seating is beautiful and serene. I highly recommend. My one wish is that they extend their vegan and vegetarian options a bit. read more

Absolutely gorgeous place! Antique and aesthetic seating indoors and outdoors. Delicious food, coffee, juices, and smoothies. My friend and I tried the yogurt bowl, cubano sandwich, latte and smoothie. We finished with a chocolate chunk cookie with sea salt on top, it was absolutely divine. Everything was super delicious and fresh, and the atmosphere is amazing. Highly recommend this gem! read more

Many-year fan and it just gets better. Amazing meals, fresh baked goods, quiche of day, my all time favorite avocado toast - completely delicious and a work of art. Husband likes the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich with scirocco on the side. New seating options indoors, (coffee bar /counter is nice) and a large outdoor patio with umbrellas. Great for a walk about Old Wethersfield and to grab a bite/coffee, with without your dogs. The barn is cozy, and pick up a market item or two while there (warning - quality high, as well as prices on the specialty market items.) read more

I stopped by Heirloom Market today to get a quick coffee and saw that they opened their brand new greenhouse seating area! It is so beautiful and light! A little chilly on a cooler day, but it will be awesome on the sunny days ahead. This is also the yogurt parfait which is amazing. The jam they put on top makes it an incredible treat! Tuesday morning was pretty quiet! read more

Very charming place with awesome food, vintage appeal and friendly service. I had a delicious B.E.C. which was bacon, baked egg and cheese on a house made biscuit. Very dense, wonderful and satisfying. Coffee is terrific. Also had a cinnamon apple butter muffin that was so good. The line moves fast, you order at the counter then find a seat. They'll call you for your beverage and you get a buzzer for your food. Stroll and shop the neat seeds or other goods/food in the store...has sort of an old school General Store feel. Ample street parking and also a lot in back. read more

We went there on an evening for a quick dinner. At 5 there was not much crowd. People started coming after that. Staff was friendly. The building has an ambience of antiquity. We ordered Avacado toast: the toast bread was really crispy. Avacado tasted fresh. All the veggies in it also tasted fresh. Even the boiled egg tasted better there. Lamb gyro: I was expecting a mediocre gyro. But this one had a lot of flavor. Meat was also tender. Hot cocoa with marshmallow: I never liked marshmallow. But their home made marshmallow was different. They toast it nicely and put it on hot cocoa. If you have a sweet tooth you will love it. Golden latte: this is milk work turmeric, ginger and other spices. No caffeine really. They have an option to add expresso. I didn't add expresso but still liked it. read more

I have been visiting heirloom market for years and each time adds warmth to the soul and love in the heart. The menu items are composed of well balanced familiar concepts that are uplifted in complexity and flavor. I highly recommend picking up a bakery item or two for later (the cookies are phenomenal). Overall, a great spot to catch up with friends and allow time to slow as we bring ourselves to enjoy the moment in the present. read more

Farmhouse feeling ! This place is definitely a stop to make in your day today ! They sell seeds from A-Z in a spaced out section where it is not overwhelming . Collard greens to yellow watermelon and flower seeds and more . They have a lounge area & picnic type tables to enjoy your drink or meal from the small kitchen on-site . They offer salads, sandwiches and smoothies and specials of the day . A small but adequate menu. Today I chose a lavender lemonade . Light and refreshing with a note of lavender . The lady squeezed every lemon to make my drink ( around 5.50) . This place is definitely organic. My cousin decided on a carrot concoction with ginger and fruits and vegetables. She said it was great and can't wait to come back and try another option here. They sell organic honey, drinks, fruit and a small section of meat ( example : Grass-fed beef and beef hotdogs uncured ) . Look around and see all the good products they have for purchase !!! read more
Arrived to Heirloom for lunch on Labor Day weekend. The line was longer but moved pretty quickly. My mom and I both ordered the breakfast wrap with the addition of bacon. I also had a small medium roast coffee which was smaller than your standard but had a great flavor! Due to limited seating outside we grabbed a seat inside by the window. I really liked the various seating options offered from outdoor benches to a brightly lit room or cozy area with comfy chairs tucked away in the market space. Our wraps were perfectly toasted and the service was quick and friendly. The cafe offers a great variety of homemade baked goods, lattes and organic juices which also looked amazing. Really loved this place and can't wait to return! read more

This is a good place to meet a friend for a coffee, tea, or pampering lunch. I walked in and waited in line to place my order behind maybe three people an the line moved quickly . You then had a little longer wait for the chef to make each meal individually. And that part is worth the wait because your food looks like it was given that extra bit of attention that makes a pampering lunch feel special. I don't really mind the wait here because there's plenty to look at! Complimentary lemon water was available to sip as well. It's a fun place to walk around checking out produce, seeds, and specialty items while you wait for your order. I ordered the avocado toast and a latte and I was delighted to find the prettiest little avocado toast that I have ever been presented ! Not only was it visually special, but also quite delicious! My latte, as well as the avocado toast were both very satisfying! read more
Heirloom Market is amazing! It's such a fun experience. The food is all farm fresh, and they have so many options. Breakfast, lunch, pastries, juices, lattes & more! They have cozy seating inside and a cute patio as well. The shop area is full of locally sourced groceries & products, that would make for a great gift! It's a fun place to take someone who's visiting CT. The seed store is amazing too! The staff are all so accommodating & friendly, and you can really tell they take pride in their service. Last time I went I got avocado toast & asked for bacon on top, (which I highly recommend), and a fresh carrot grapefruit juice. That's balance right? read more

My go-to spot for a working lunch. Anytime there's a line it moves fast even during a rush. Best maple latte I've had! The staff is always friendly. Plenty of seating inside and outside. They also have a nice selection of organic and local products. read more
I am impressed..........WOW So I come here last year in April and they had these amazing pulled pork tacos. FRESH and tasty ingredients with well balanced out flavors. But it was like $9.95 for 2 little tacos. My impression was great, cute place with high pricing. But TODAY I walked in and the place is all dressed up for the holidays and it's nice and cozy and everything! I see the new menu as I received my Large Hot Cocoa for $4.99 which is not bad considering it was pretty high quality stuff. Anyways I look on the menu for this little, highly underrated yet high quality café and I find GYROS!!!!!! LAMB GYROS!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD so I know the style of this café and how they want to give you fresh ingredients and everything and I thought in my head "how can this be bad?". IT WAS SO SATISFYING TO BE RIGHT AS IT WAS WELL WORTH MY $9. My gyro came and the bread was fresh, it had lots of lettuce and diced tomatoes, also had a dose of balsamic vinegar and that famous white sauce for gyros. But there was a surprise underneath that hearty fresh goodness, LOTS OF LAMB. Lamb was perfectly cooked and it was tender, tasty, well seasoned, and there was lots of it oh my God the fact that these flavors were so unexpected in the middle of this unique, cute café in the middle of Old Wethersfield was just so satisfying!!! Take my money please just take it!!!! Take it right now! Fresh food, great coffee and hot cocoa, unique yet cozy environment in the middle of Old Wethersfield. That's a winner. But they close at 7pm, if they close at 9pm or even 10pm (I know I'm pushing it) I'd go there everyday. Okay I'll stop now, if you're reading this please check this place out. Please? It's a hole in the wall and don't Yelpers like that? Come to Heirloom Market of Comstock and you won't be disappointed unless you come here with less than $10 (could get something with less than $10 but not hot food and a drink that's like $13ish) but that's alright! It tastes good and that's all that matters. read more

I have a feeling that after my next trip to Heirloom Market at Comstock Ferre my review will be bumped up a star but given that Mark C and I stopped in (for bread no less) during the first weekend that they opened. The "market" is a great addition to Historic Old Wethersfield. In browsing the store I saw a lot of organic produce and boxed products for sale. I ended up purchasing 2 loaves of bread from a bakery I believe was in Deep River - a sour dough and a sun dried tomato which were spectacular later that night with dinner. The goal of Heirloom Market it to buy locally sourced produce so the patron will be able to know where all of their products they are purchasing come from. I can see great things for this store, which in addition to the market includes a juice bar, selling fresh fruit and vegetable juices, several kinds of coffee drinks and what I believe are fresh and locally baked goods. In speaking with one of the employees - I have been told that they are looking to expand their selection to include sandwiches. And if you thought that was all that Heirloom Market at Comstock Ferre had to offer - you only need to go up to the annex (located off the main market) where there are rows and rows of every type of seed imaginable. I overheard talk of gardening classes and a book club so I signed my name on their mailing list. Hopefully by taking some of these classes my green thumb will fully bloom this summer. read more
I've had this place bookmarked for some time and stumbled upon it today looking for lunch options in the area. I didn't have much time to fully explore every nook and cranny but what I saw and experienced will definitely be bringing me back for more. Outside areas with different types of seating available (YES! Two thumbs up for offering diverse options). A ramp into the building opens up into multiple areas; shop for produce, unique items including honey/salves/vinegar potions to help abate Illness, many different seating areas, walls of card cataloged heirloom seeds, flower bulbs, and a little kitchen to-go area where coffee, breakfast, and sandwiches are made to order. Perhaps one of my favorite parts of this experience were the people who were hanging out. It had a coffee shop meets book shop vibe; people who I assume were customers, cozied up under blankets with a lamp and book/iPad, friends chatting with coffees, quiet solo visitors reading, others joking and laughing and it all just WORKS! Everyone who I encountered who worked here was pleasant, helpful and gave off a genuinely happy persona. As I'm taking this all in and buying flower bulbs (buy 1 bag get 1 $2 off) someone came in asking to apply for a job and really, I almost chimed in asking if I could piggyback on that request. Looking forward to returning! read more
Heirloom, You are extremely valuable to me and need nothing more than what you offer, which is exceptional service and spectacular coffee and treats. Everything I wrote after my first visit some time ago--forget. Don't even look. Stop. I know what you're doing. Don't scroll down. All you need to know is right in this updated review. I cannot get enough of Heirloom after I gave it a second chance. I'm here frequently, whether it's with friends, by myself, briefly stopping in for some groceries--you name it. I thoroughly enjoy coming here, and it is largely because of the service. Spiro and Julia, the owners, are extremely kind and welcoming and can be seen helping run the shop even at the busiest of times to help out their staff. Lauren, the main baker, creates unique and delicious treats. Each barista carefully crafts perfect coffee creations. Hands down my favorite and go-to that I always need to get: the golden latte with a double shot of espresso. Such a unique and perfectly spicy-in-every-sip drink. I add two shots of espresso to make it an official latte as it does not come with it just ordered as is off the menu. The only tiff that I have--only one--is that lattes are little more expensive. For a decent sized golden latte and two added shots of espresso, it's about $6. Do I love it that much to pay that much? Yes, but maybe not as frequently as I'd like or should pay. You absolutely cannot go wrong with anything at Heirloom--service, food, and coffee. Check out the store for local goods, too, while you wait for your order or after you enjoy your coffee. I've found so many fantastic treats in the store that are hard to find anywhere else. Everything is packed into one great space. There's a reason why I go here so much and why it's a gem overall. read more
You had us at Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Roll. Wish we bought two. We savored every bite. Heirloom Market is a real treasure. If I could eat everything, I would have ordered one of every pastry here. But it's too close to the holidays so I tried my hardest to resist. My husband couldn't stop raving about their Golden Latte (chai turmeric latte?) while I sipped my Camomile tea. The interior and exterior of the cafe/market are modern farmhouse chic. Very serene and relaxing place to visit early in the morning. read more
