The food is good, but the incredibly slow service makes it not worth it
Two and a half hours for two small plates and two small desserts? Not good. We were excited to try this place as it had options that weren't huge entrees, kind of like German schnitzel tapas. The schnitzel was good (not fantastic) and the spaetzle with crispy onions on top was also fairly tasty. We followed this with small sizes of sour cherry kaiserschmarrn and salted caramel kaiserschmarrn. Both of those were delicious, especially if you went back and forth between them. They were crispy and the sauces were a perfect accompaniment. We really can't complain that much about the food.
The service, however, let down the experience badly. First we waited and waited for a server for drinks. We then ordered our food and waited and waited. Then waited for the dessert. After 45 minutes of waiting for dessert, our server came by and said it would only be 2 or 3 more minutes. Then 15 minutes went by and he said, "oh, you don't have them yet?" And then finally came back with them. He offered another beer and a coffee to make up for it, but even those took another 10 minutes! We just wanted to leave at that point. How frustrating. Though it wasn't a bad meal, there's other places that have just as good food without these problems. read more
