Mavis Tires & Brakes

Mavis Tires & Brakes

Great customer service, excellent mechanics and front desk service was awesome. The new manager Rebecca was great she ran that store like she knew like the back of her hand. I definitely recommend going to this shop. Chad Ross

Apparently, Customers Are Supposed to Know Mavis's Procedures Without Anyone Explaining Them…read more If you value communication, professionalism, or being treated with basic respect, I would strongly recommend avoiding this Mavis location. I was sent here from another Mavis because the first location did not have the tire I needed. When I arrived, an employee acknowledged the referral, took my keys, and had me wait. No paperwork was presented for me to sign, and no one explained what the service would entail beyond replacing my tire. Nearly TWO HOURS passed with no meaningful updates. Then, while sitting in the waiting area, I looked over and saw MY CAR BEING DRIVEN OFF THE PROPERTY. I immediately asked where they were going with my vehicle. I was told the technician was just driving it around to make sure everything was okay. I was pissed. No one had mentioned a test drive. No one had told me there was an issue requiring one. I had received absolutely NO communication about my vehicle leaving the premises. When I questioned why I had not been informed or asked to authorize this happening, the technician walking by explained that a warning light was on. Another employee stated that they didn't want customers leaving with warning lights and coming back to complain. But the most insulting and infuriating part came during checkout. When I reiterated that I had not authorized anyone to drive my vehicle off the premises, the employee responded in an incredibly patronizing and demeaning tone that he knew I didn't come there often, but most customers knew that this was what they usually did. He then offered what I considered a completely dismissive apology. So because other customers supposedly know your procedures, I should automatically know them too? And because I don't frequent your establishment, that somehow makes my concerns less valid? I also asked what would happen if the technician had been involved in an accident while driving my vehicle. The same guy responded "We have insurance on the techs." That was it. I have multiple children's car seats in my vehicle, which would require need replacement following an accident. And I'm NINE MONTHS PREGNANT. I certainly did not need the additional stress of unexpectedly watching someone drive my vehicle away after waiting nearly two hours without updates. I understand that test drives can be part of automotive service. What I do not accept is a complete failure to communicate, followed by employees speaking to me as though I'm ignorant for expecting to be informed. This was not a misunderstanding that was handled professionally. It was a legitimate concern that was met with excuses, condescension, and an astonishing lack of customer care. I paid for the service, left, and will NEVER return to this location - the George Lyles location is my go-to and I will always go back there. Mavis, your customers should not have to guess what your employees are doing with their vehicles. And they certainly should not be belittled for asking.
