The price is reasonable, the food was good, but we do wish they put more rice on their sushi. The fish to rice ratio was disappointing and at times the service was really slow but besides that, we were happy with our decision to eat here. They had a good selection of rolls and sushi. Usually I go to sake 2 me, but Megean they took away the all you can eat option for sushi, I found this place. All of the rolls were delicious and they have an amazing buffet that's included as apart of the pricing for your meal. You have to try the octopus balls! Hands down my favorite thing! Happy to have stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. The place is cute and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. The ayca is a good deal. My favorite things are the monkey balls and the blue moon roll. Most of the other sushi rolls are ok, they had a lot of rice and needed more sauce. The miso soup was bland. I do not recommend the fried oysters. They were very salty and tasted old. read more

Didn't love this place. Went when they first opened. With our gluten allergy it was very hard to order here. No one really knew what gluten was and what would be safe for us to eat. This place is great! I ordered over $80 worth of food and everything was delicious. All rolls and sushi are 50% off so it's a really good deal considering the good quality of the fish. The rolls were huge and I really enjoyed how fresh all the sushi was, especially for to-go orders. The spicy garlic edamame and gyoza appetizers both tasted very good. Have been going to this place since they opened and it has been my Go To Restaurant for Sushi. Orange has some great sushi restaurants but Heemo is the one I feel you get the most bang for your buck. Their fish is fresh and I love the variety and creativity when it comes to making their rolls. Note: I usually do take-out, but whenever I do dine-in I haven't had any issues. Their waiting staff has always been kind to me. We're huge sushi fans, and as we just moved into the area a couple weeks before the pandemic lock down, so all of our past experiences with Hotto have been from pickup and delivery. It was never 'bad' sushi, but it also wasn't remarkable. We ended up establishing another place as our 'Go To' location. Today we opted to give Hotto another go, but this time to dine in. I don't know if there was supposed to be a difference, or maybe it was just mid-pandemic vs. reopened - but wow, they are much better than I gave them credit for. Salmon - fresh, flavorful, and plentiful. The cut was was so big I almost hat to go two-bites on it. I love the smaller rice balls they use, too. Seared escolar - We always have an escolar when a restaurant has it, but this was the first time seared. Wow, amazing flavor - and like the salmon, a nice hearty slice. Rainbow roll - well built, held together, and good flavor. Sunset roll - nice big bites, great flavor, no rice! Salmon egg - Good amount in each piece, decent flavor with a good 'pop' Our non-sushi eating folks ordered waffle fries, gyoza, teriyaki chicken, and egg rolls. They kept commenting on how good all of them were, and even ordered more gyoza. I feel their price on fresh grated wasabi was brutal, and it took a while for them to prepare it, but overall we were pleasantly surprised by a restaurant we thought we already knew. Decided to try this place while I was in town after reading all the good reviews. Needless to say it is one of the better ayce sushi restaurants in Orange County. We went in on a Thursday afternoon when the restaurant was pretty empty, service was great and the food came out quick. Our favorites were the yellowtail, salmon, octopus, halibut, and oyster tempura. Their halibut sushi was some of the best I've had and paired especially well with the fresh wasabi.
