Arrived at 6:30am to be the first car in line for servicing this morning. 2001 GMC Sierra having some slight ventilation heating problems. Informed the attendant that it was most likely the blend door actuator that was the culprit. I had researched the problem beforehand, and can slightly hear the stripped gears trying to work under the dash. But I brought it in so that the problem could be accurately diagnosed and fixed. Called at 5pm to follow up on the truck. The employee informed me that they had called and left a message ~2:20pm that they'd be needing to keep it overnight. I have no messages and no missed calls. From the call, I learned that there was no change in estimate, no mention of parts that would need to be replaced, no update on the condition or work they had put into the truck other than "the car will need to be kept overnight" . As a customer, this appears to say that they hadn't even looked at my car yet, when I had made the effort to get there as early as I could and have this problem diagnosed (and hopefully fixed). Mind you, I had put in time to research the problem myself and informed the dealership to hopefully reduce any delay in service. From this, my plans to travel back home to San Diego have now been delayed an extra day. I can look past the lack of voice mail/phone call as that could be an issue with the phone company. However, taking 7 hours to tell me that they need to keep it overnight, and no update on the condition is disheartening. It's also incredibly frustrating that my truck is driveable, but I'm unable to arrange a ride to pick it up for use tonight and I'm all but stranded in town. Historically, my family hasn't ever had a problem with the dealership, and perhaps this is why I had higher expectations than the experience I'm receiving. Carry over from the holidays is also a consideration, however, a courtesy disclaimer of that possibility was never mentioned in person or over the phone. read more

They just don't care about you after the sale. I purchase a 2015 Silverado 2500HD Duramax from them in Febuary of last year, and have since had my second and last horrible experience with them. I have brought my truck to them for all scheduled services, and to have a factory remote start system installed. Each time I was there, I would ask my service consultant, Carl T, about upgrading the stock 17" wheels, to a set of factory take-off wheels. About the third visit, Carl said they had a set of 18" factory wheel in the back, and went to the sales department to get a price. It was infuriating to me, and embarrassing to Carl, when the Carl asked the price, and salesman immediately said, "depends on who it's for." Obviously not everyone is treated equally here to start with. At 22,300 miles, the tires on my truck were pretty worn. I called a local shop to order a set of aftermarket wheels, and a new set of tires. The alignment tech suggested installing steering braces, because these trucks are known for the idler and pitman arms wearing out in the steering, but they would check everything when I brought it in for installation. Sure enough, even with stock suspension, the parts were worn out. The truck is still under warranty, so I took over to Hedrick's. My original service consultant, Carl, had since moved out of the service department, and now I have Jesse.... Jesse informed me there was nothing wrong with my truck. He even had an attitude, as if I was wasting his time, or I was lying about the problem. I showed him a video I took of the worn out parts. He took my phone out of my hand and said he was going to go show his manager. He cam back a few minutes later and told me that the mechanic stated that the other shop inspected it incorrectly. When I asked to speak the manager, Jesse shrugged his shoulders and said he was busy, gave me a blank stare, and tried moving on to other business, completely avoiding my questions. I picked up the paperwork from the clerk, and that's when I realized just what the service department really thought of me. The notes stated that there were aftermarket torsion lift keys installed on the truck. The truck was stock when I purchased it from them, and is still stock now. I showed the notes to Jesse, who gave me another condescending shoulder shrug, but added an eye roll when I asked him to come out and look at the truck, so I could show him the GM part numbers on the torsion keys. I can't say I was all that surprised when Jesse didn't know what they were, or where they were located on the truck. Since then, several calls have been made asking the service manager to call myself, or the tech who originally found the issue. Neither of us has had anyone one at all from Hedrick's send so much as a smoke signal. It's even more infuriating that I had just called the person I deal with in sales about coming in to purchase a new Tahoe for my wife. I think a different GM dealer deserves my business, and yours. Hedrick's just doesn't care about you after the sale. read more

Came in for service on my Chevy. Everyone in service department was very friendly even with chaos in the morning with everybody dropping their vehicles off. However, the lady behind the glass when you finish the paperwork upon picking up your vehicles was not very friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day? It was the same lady that when you call in for an appointment and seemed frustrated or in a hurry. It's probably a fast paced and stressful position, but I reccomend friendliness at all times especially if that's the last impression of your dealership. read more

I got my 2012 chevy cruz october of last year i was happy with service, I have a issue now with my car, during summer i started to feal vibration at idle while my ac was on, then started to hear a squeking noise while at idel, i drove a few weaks like this untill on a hot day 110 deg out side at stop light car idel drop low car stalling i had to accelerate while braking to keep car on, i made appt with dealer to inspect. They called me told me no issues found, all normal they cleaned throtle body thats all. I still have vibration at idel, you can not rest you head on seat due to vibration, this is what is disapointing service writer was nice but never did they offer to drive car with me to solve my problem, it has now 25,00 miles, this is not normal my sister has same year car and does not have my issue. read more

Service started out bad from the start. Carol came out asked if I had an appointment I said no but all I needed was an oil change. She asked if I was leaving the car and then coming back I told her no and she said that is why they schedule appointments?? Never have I had to schedule an appointment at any other Chevrolet dealership. Told her about another problem I have and she said they can not look at that without me making an appointment and dropping the car off for the day. I am new to the area looking for a nice Chevrolet Dealership and this is not the one. Will have to find another one soon my wife wants a new Suburban so Hendricks just lost a 76,000 sale off the service department. read more

I can no longer recommend purchasing a Chevrolet. My caution is rooted in my recent experience. My warranty expired one month ago and I have only 36,899 miles on the vehicle. The truck has been in the shop many times during the three years I've owned it. It currently won't start due to a battery or alternator issue...not sure yet. However, I'm confident it is not an expensive fix. But I called Hedricks and asked if they would help me out under the circumstance of being so close to the expiration of the warranty and because of all the times I have had the truck in the shop since its purchase from their dealer. The person I spoke with was pleasant, and unfortunately, I probably wasn't due to my mounting frustration in the call. He told me that he would like to help me but that Chevrolet has a "one-day/one-mile" policy, meaning the warranty is done if you are one mile over or one day over.. I explained the circumstance and how often I'd been in the shop and that in the past Chevrolet has been gracious to me when so close to the warranty. He said that there was nothing he could do due to the policy of Chevrolet. And here lies the problem. In other places where I do business I find much more leeway when it comes to "the policy". My other auto mechanic has worked with me when it was outside the policy (Honesty Automotive....go there instead of Hendricks). Today my dry cleaner (Sierra Dry Cleaners in Clovis) just worked with me on an error when he didn't have to. He called me and was gracious. Recently, my home owners insurance (Travelers) went above and beyond, and did more than they had to when I was robbed in another country. In all of these cases, I have adamantly recommended these companies and their services to other people. Why? Because they value me and my specific situation. They worked with me instead of the "policy". That is what you do to keep people's business. Hedrick and Chevrolet have totally lost this perspective. Once upon a time Chevrolet treated me with such great customer service that I was hooked...I was even in love with Chevrolet, and I have purchased my last three vehicles from them.....no other company could lure me away from my fidelity to Chevrolet. Times change and so do companies. As a result my commitment to Chevrolet has faded, all because of a simple, inflexible "one mile; one day" rule. A fix that would cost a company less than $200-$400 has cost my loyalty and any future recommendations, recommendations that I used to regularly pass out. I used to tell people I loved Chevrolet. While I was waiting on hold to speak with customer service, Hedricks' recorded announcement suggested, "Please tell others about us." .So today I am. My new recommendation when it comes to Hedricks and Chevrolet is to find a smaller dealership that has a little more empathy. Find a more understanding service department. Find a car company that doesn't live and die by the "policy," but instead demonstrates an avid concern for the customers that they claim to want to keep. Chevrolet used to operate under this method, sadly, I believe those days are gone. Hedricks will most likely respond to this post saying, "We are sorry Chad, but ......" Words alone like "sorry" point to a false empathies. Words don't keep customers loyal. Instead, action, even when it is slightly outside the policy, is what guards a customer's fidelity. I know my warranty has expired by a month and 899 miles. But I would want my dealer to say, "Because it is so close, and you have been a faithful Chevrolet customer, and have recommended others to our company.....we have you covered." That is when, I call my friends and tell them, "Hedricks is amazing!......If you want a solid company go to Hedricks for service. Buy a Chevrolet! Listen to what they did for me!" But instead, over a fairly inconsequential $200-$400.....they have lost me forever. Respectfully, Chevrolet and Hedricks.....today, I am breaking up with both of you. I'm just not in love anymore. Only place I will continue to purchase my vehicles from. I recently purchased my 5th vehicle from Hedricks. Service is always great. I don't get the typical car sales person pressure. Our sales person is Louie. We a great person. He is friendly and let us look at different lots without basically begging us to stay. We came back the next day and purchased our car. So I come in to buy a 2018 Chevy truck I'm trading in my truck in on this deal so I get a hold of Kelly Blue book and find out what my truck is worth before I go to them as I get there my truck is a 2000 AM General Hummer H1 they look confused and baffled because I told him this is the truck I'm selling them and it's going in on the deal in the equity I have in the truck I'm going to roll over for the new purchase after I sent the first sometime the sales manager comes out and tells me he has no idea where to start with this vehicle no clue what the dollar amount of this vehicle is worth I told him do what everybody else does and I said that's your guidelines isn't it I told him that Kelley Blue Book says my truck is worth $45,000 he says no no no we're not going to pay that much for it yet 5 minutes earlier he had no idea where to start so I sense that he was full of it and or lying to me so I left without purchasing a $68,000 truck and I went to Keller Motors in Hanford instead and they gave me the $45,000 because they said that is what it is worth I will never go back to that Chevy dealer again read more

The workers in the office who check you out however are absolutely the worst. Short and constantly rude. We had to figure out on our own how to get it back to their dealership and they still had the audacity to think we were going to purchase it. I went into Hedricks for a repair that was covered under warrenty. Now mind you, I did not buy my car at Hedricks. (Big mistake!), but they treated me as if I had. Mike Fox, the gentlemen who helped me, was just wonderful! He told me that there was recall work that needed to be done on my car, and that they would do that as well. Then their shuttle took me to work, so I didn't have to sit in the dealership and wait - that was a relief! My car was ready when they said it would be. I went in for a scheduled oil change at Hedrick's Chevrolet, where I purchased my vehicle. I pulled into the service center but did not know where to stop; there was not a sign or anything indicating how far I was to drive into the building. I drove past the first counter and saw a wide yellow stripe on the floor within the service center, near a second counter and thought that might the place to stop. A man at that second counter very rudely told me that I was suppose to stop at the first counter. When I tried to explain that I was not sure where I was to stop and suggested that a sign might be helpful. All this person said repeatedly to me AS I was speaking was, "yeah, yeah, yeah....". He had no interest in hearing my comments. I proceeded to the first counter and received less than average customer service. A couple of days later, I responded to a survey sent to me online from Hedrick's, asking me to rate my experience at the service center. My comments were very negative. Once I submitted this survey I expected to hear back from Hedrick's. NO ONE bothered to call me to discuss my disappointment with the service provided to me on that day. Needless to say, I will never set foot in Hedrick's again and I discourage anyone from going there as well. Today I took my vehicle to Michael's Chevrolet Automotive Center for problems with my Bluetooth system. My service consultant was Dan Ortenzio. I explained to Dan my negative experience at Hedrick's and he apologized; once again, he apologized. He was willing to own it; a very professional thing to say and do, especially when you consider Hedrick's was not; they did nothing. I will continue to take my service business to Dan and encourage everyone to do the same. read more

Worst customer service! I recommend everyone to go to Michaels Chevrolet instead. The staff member that supposedly helped me was rude and biased toward young people. I'm 24 yrs old and I asked him if I may test drive a camaro. First thing he says was, are you going to purchase it because we don't do joyrides. Then he says I have to make an appointment until Monday to test drive the car, however I couldn't test drive the camaro I was interested in because my co-signer wasn't present at the time and if I crashed it I would have to pay for the car. Also I may test drive a used older camaro. Why would I test drive a car that I'm not interested in. This guy knows nothing about me. So I went to Michaels afterwards and they allowed me to test drive a camaro I was interested in. The next week I purchased the car and love it. read more

Keith Dunn was the gentlemen that helped me in the service department and he did a 5 star job! I had to replace the transmission control module on my '11 duramax diesel pickup. Hedricks wanted close to $600 for the part that I found online for $297. I double checked with them before ordering the part online to verify that they could flash a module not bought from them and was quoted $145 for the flash. After I received the new module in the mail I called to schedule an appt. and the lady told me it would be $210. I told her that I had already been quoted a price of $145 and she went into instant attitude mode. She finally agreed to honor the price that I had already been quoted and I had my truck towed in a few days later for the appt. A few hours after arrival the underwriter called to let me know that the work was complete and my truck was ready for pickup, so I rushed over to pick it up. Except when I got there the same lady that had been rude to me over the phone couldn't seem to find the paperwork. A pissing match then ensued between the underwriter that called me and the ladies processing the invoices. After standing around for 20 minutes I was finally able to get the keys to my truck and drive off. While it does seem that they performed the work on my vehicle correctly and everything is working properly I simply cannot recommend this dealership due to the lack of professionalism and outrageous prices. read more
