I brought in two customer-owned compressed gas cylinders for hydrotesting and recertification. Hedrick's folks said they were pretty busy but accepted my cylinders and promised they would have them done by the end of the day, which they did. In addition, the retesting costs were reasonable ($20 for 150 CU FT & $15 for 50 CU FT). Special thanks to John (tank tester), Monica (admin) and the young man at the counter whose name I didn't get but is destined to be a psychology major at BYU in the near future. Tips if you're interested in bring your own cylinders for testing: 1. Hedrick typically tests every Wednesday but because the test in batches based on test pressure and cylinder size, you need to get them there as early as possible or you might have to wait until the following week. 2. Hedrick personnel recommend you bring such cylinders to them by COB on Tuesday so they can be batch tested on Wednesday. 3. If they have a lot of cylinders to test (such as their own for customer orders), it may take a week or two for them to get to outside customer cylinders. 4. Make sure your cylinders are empty prior to bringing them in, especially if they contain a flammable gas. (I didn't verify they accept such gases, so call first.) 5. Consider attaching a waterproof tag to the cylinder so that it is clear to whom it belongs. We did not (because we originally thought we were going to wait there) but had no problem getting ours back. 6. Always carry cylinders in an open truck bed in case of a leak since pressurized gas is an asphyxiant (displaces oxygen) even if inert. read more

Forget it they want to see proof that you are no longer working for that company or proof that you sold the business and no longer own it. I called Hedrick Fire Protection on Saturday for an emergency repair - I had an accident in my home whereby the fire sprinkler was broken and flooded my home. Hedrick was available same day for the repair and provided me with a window of arrival between 12-5 and arrived within the first hour. They estimated the repair cost over the phone and the finalized cost was within the estimate. No hidden cost of gimmicks. I spoke with Bob on the phone who not only was transparent but professional, and Adam my technician was very polite, professional and understanding of the situation. Adam completed the repair, remained on site allowing the repair to dry and pressurized the system to ensure no leaks were present after the repair. Payment was made to their office after the repair. Adam simply called into the office and Monica took payment over the phone who also happened to be courteous. All in all, very professional company, with great communication and availability during the most critical times! This is what I call icing on the cake. Hedrick is very good at making the appointment, and getting the tech out at our church for the work. However, I spend way too much time trying to get them to upload their report for the LBFD to review. To date, I have made 8 calls to get the report uploaded and at this point, I just got a penalty assessed because of them not getting the report up in a timely manner. I do not consider 11 business days post inspection to be in a timely manner. Furthermore, this was not a unique instance, the last time we engaged Hedrick, I had to make numerous calls to get the information so I could email it to the LBFD. He was pleasant and professional and explained why my extinguisher was indicating that it needed to be serviced, even though I didn't remember ever using it. Very unprofessional and unethical. We had our sprinkler test done. All was good but they didn't issue the certification as they wanted me to pay for a hose out of the fire riser room even though the City doesn't require it. This can't be a code requirement or change either as the building is only 3 year old. I recently get a business and the previous tenant had and unfinished job with this guys, he had paid a few hundred dollars for the job, I call them and splaying the situation and the secretary told me that somebody will contact me regarding the job.. I would have much rather wanted to give Hedrick Fire Protection a 5 star review, but the fact that they are very unresponsive, not organized, and holding reports for sprinkler tests until they get paid, and even then, they didn't even track if they had gotten paid so here we are, waiting on the report and Diane? needs to makes sure the payment gets posted to their account and they will "check on the report". I was lucky enough to find Hendricks Fire Protection so close to where I work. I needed to Hydro Test my carbon fiber paintball tanks by the end of the week. Most of the places I found online were out of state, and the ones I've found nearby were expensive or sent their tanks out anyways (which took too long). But things were different with Hendricks... They are family owned, they offered great prices ($15/tank) and do all of their testing in-house. They didn't charge their customers to remove the regulators. They also have a drop off option. So I dropped off the tanks within 5 minutes during my lunch break, and went back 3 days later to pick them up. It was quick and easy. I didn't have to go through the hassle of shipping the tanks out of state or tried removing the regulators on my own. Plus, their staff did a great job and were super friendly. They also service Fire Hydrants, Extinguishers, Alarms, and Sprinklers. read more

I should have written this last year but I forgot. I called this company out twice, the first time they send the tech Keith T to service my fire extinguishers. Keith came out, very friendly, he visually looks over the fire extinguishers, cuts off the old tag and puts on a new one. He did that with every one of the extinguishers I had. I asked him is that all that needs to be done, yes, I check the date code and make sure they are good. I didn't think nothing of it since I don't know if that was correct or not. He comes out the second year, does the same thing, sells me a new extinguisher since the other was out of date. Cuts off tags, and puts the green Hedrick 2020 one. I told him I was in the wrong line of business, charge someone $35.00 (the year before it was $25) to simply cut the tags off and put new ones on is insane! I called the office and talked to the lady who answered (I can't remember her name now), she said that is NOT what the technician is supposed to do, he's supposed to pull them apart and thoroughly check them out. She said the owner was out of town but would call me on Monday. No call ever came in. I can only imagine how many other businesses in town, or any towns he services, that this same tech does this to, just so he can get back home. I think back wondering if I really needed to use any of the extinguishers, I don't know if they'd work or not. I got the estimate and asked what the protocol for the inspection was in case my building tenants or myself had to move things around in our warehouse space or halt operations temporarily. Back in Sept. 2015 my husband and I where trying to contract a licensed specialist to replace our fire sprinkler in our garage from the early 1980's. My office called yesterday 9/9/19 to schedule Fire extinguisher service as we do every year, Marcus called us this morning 9/10/19 to set something up. He said he would be in in 30-40 minutes. He showed up in Five minutes, It took him maybe 3 minutes to look at our fire extinguisher which is not the problem, The problem is this guys classless attitude. 5 minutes after he got to my office he wrote out a invoice which is fine, he handed it to me and I said ok well the doctor is finishing up with a patient (hense why we stated to come in in 30-40 minutes) He Said "ITS COD MAM" I said ok that is fine you are welcome to take a seat in our reception area.
