I asked to break down the quote for this simple job, but Jeff was not able to do that, he wrote they don't do that, but instead they give a full price. We had our annual fire inspection done by another company. I will not name the company. They came out and found two problems. They quoted me an outrageous amount to repair the problems. I them called Black Bird. They sent Fernando out to handle the issue. He found the problems and corrected them. It turns our that the problems were actually caused by the other company. In other words, the other company wanted to fix their own problem and rip us off. Needless to say, our new company going forward will be Black Bird and their wonderful employee, Fernando. read more

I should have left this review in June when I had my fire sprinkler system inspected. I'm glad I didn't because I had a non-emergent issue stemming from the initial visit. It was handled superbly from start to finish. I spoke with Paul early this morning, alerting him that my valve compartment was leaking inside the wall, from the attached hose. I had no idea this has been going on since June. I stored some things below my valve compartment that covered up the nasty puddle of water that was sludgy and dark brown. When I moved everything to sweep, that's when I realized there was a problem. Paul requested a couple of pictures, to which he responded to immediately after sending. He identified the issue and sent a technician out today. Within a couple of hours, Jorgie (hope I spelled your name right) and his partner Fernando showed up. He fixed the issue within a matter of seconds and stopped the leak. He was very apologetic, which I appreciated. We don't live in a perfect world and things can go wrong. They communicated very well, scheduled quickly, and prioritized doing it correctly instead of doing it quickly. When they ran into some unexpected issues, they stood by their original estimate even though it took longer than anticipated. I don't really have anything "bad" to say about this company, per se. They were professional, friendly, and competent. My only complaint is about the "extra charges." We had them do a five-year certification on our sprinkler risers for $650. Right in line with what we found elsewhere. When I contacted the office about the additional $500 fee to come out and replace an alarm bell (required to pass certification, but took way less than an hour to install), the owner Richard told me all the reasons he HAD to charge me $500 for a guy to come out and replace what he admitted was a $50 bell. No repeat customer discount, no desire to work with me, no desire to help. That is his prerogative. It is my prerogative to choose a different company next time. read more
