We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (2:45pm). The worker was friendly and patient. Donut prices range from $1.09 to $2.99 USD. Most fall under regular donuts ($1.45 USD). - Regular half dozen ($7.75 USD) - blueberry cake, buttermilk bar, glazed old fashioned, maple old fashioned, strawberry French crueller and strawberry coconut cake. Shockingly, all the donuts were winners. Good texture, glaze wasn't too sweet and lasted several days. My favourite was the maple old fashioned. Can't beat the prices at HD. Will be back. read more

The donuts were okay. A little doughy in the cemetery of the cinnamon roll and the maple frosting is Sweet! The coffee was way less than desirable and I didn't even finish it. I wasn't expecting amazing coffee from a coffee pot sitting on a heater unit, but this was worse than truck stop coffee. The service was very quick and we were in and out in just a few minutes! Food: it's a donut shop. It's expected. The donuts are pretty delicious. They're fluffy, light and overall pretty good. You don't get a greasy feeling when eating them. They have an array of donuts from regular glazed to sprinkler or stuff donuts. They do have bagels with cream cheese. Maple bar is pretty amazing, the apple fritters are so good- fresh apples which is so nice. Service- it's not bad but it's not good. You can see the guy through the kitchen window rolling dough and making donuts. It's cool to watch. Ambiance- the outside is alright but the inside definitely needs a remodel. Flooring is out dated as well as the seating arrangements. If they put a little effort into their appearance it would certainly help with appeal. It's a plus that they open 24/7 for your craving. Service was quick and sufficient. Dough is on a heavier and greasy sides so not my things. I got my regular sugar top and the sugar was sticky on the dough instead of barely their when the dough is not greasy. I love support local shops but probably won't come back here since the dough was too greasy and heavy for my preference. They do have stores in Washington and California states. P.Y. Read the reviews and was really excited to try however upon walking through the door we were disappointed to see the donuts in the case looked like nothing special ( same olds you see everywhere ) and exactly like the donuts you'd buy at Fred Meyer or your local supermarket that has bakery donuts. Decent selection of regular donuts, a bit short on the fancy treats (only one bearclaw!) when we stopped by on Saturday afternoon. There's no ambiance but the store looked clean. I didn't have the highest expectations since it was 3pm...you never know how fresh they're going to be later in the day. But happy me! We each finished one off right outside the door. I had no idea the doughnut scene up here was SO competitive, but if this shop is any indication of the demand, it stands to reason. Even late in the morning, post breakfast and pre-lunch, this place was getting regulars coming in! They have your standard fare, cake doughnuts, old fashioned, sprinkles, glazed, twists, the works. I got a few old standbys and tried their blueberry doughnut as well... SUPER good, really nice and fluffy with a tasty blueberry glaze. With a few doughnuts and a coffee I was set. But Heavenly Donuts is still the best value (unless you wanna eat grocery store donuts which means you're craving donuts but donut wanna make the effort to get quality. First off, the employees there are always super friendly. They're patient as I fill my box with "one of those, and one of these, and that one there....." Their prices, while higher than a grocery store dozen, are still fair The donuts themselves are little rings and bars (and fritters) of heaven. Always fresh, they're simple, flavorful and just the right size. You're not going to find fritters the size of a Volkswagen, frosted, drizzled and glazed. What you will find is a great selection of normal sized donuts that will fulfil your craving for sugary breakfast bars. I recommend the pineapple fritters and the boston creme filled. This place is fantastic. Good, inexpensive donuts. None of that "fancy" crap that's topped with cereal. All very normal traditional donuts. Sometimes they'll get fancy and have a fun filling like guava. It's sort of dumpy. I've driven by it many times and passed it up. Then, I wondered whether or not Heavenly Donuts would be Portland's equivalent of a Dunkin' Donuts (DD) type place. Lo and behold, it was ... at least to me. Once upon a time, there was a Dunkin' Donuts at roughly Sunnyside and SE 82nd, but then it disappeared. There is strip mall type parking right in front of the store, the look and feeling inside is like a DD, and there are a lot of donuts to choose from. I should be deducting 2 stars to make for 3 stars, but I was in there at night and the place was staffed by a person who seemed to be juggling quite a bit. I wanted 2 donuts. It's easy to tell what's chocolate cake or chocolate frosting but, with other colors, not so much. I saw some donuts with pink frosting and coconut sprinkles, and assumed they were strawberry. So I asked and the guy seemed perturbed when he informed me they were cherry. Did they ever think of labeling their trays of donuts so people wouldn't have to ask, especially when there could be a language barrier? He seemed stressed, which was understandable, but both donuts were good. Surprisingly, I found the cherry/coconut donut to be very tasty. So, hooray for having the closest thing to a DD in Portland's southeastern suburbs. Heavenly Donuts is a down home donut shop. It is a world away from Voodoo, Blue Star, or Tonalli's in every which way. Also, along those 6 or 7 miles of McLoughlin Blvd. from Milwaukie to Oak Grove to Gladstone and into Oregon City, they do not have a Ford dealership while they have niche car brands, but they have the bread and butter donut shop dialed.
