Nugs has quickly jumped to the top of our list of Denver ice cream spots!…read more Denver is certainly not in short supply of great local ice cream shops, but Nugs has quickly become one of our favorites. It's conveniently located right off Colfax, which makes it super easy for us to get to, and they have a ton of fun and unique flavors to choose from. Everything we tried was delicious, and I love that they have a punch card -- after 10 scoops/orders, you get one free. Always a nice incentive to keep coming back! We'll definitely be back soon to work our way through some of the other flavors. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're an ice cream fan!

The simple fact is that when I'm the north/central part of town and I've got that urge to splurge on ice cream, Nugg's is where I go. I don't even know where to start because I am STILL thinking about this place days later. We…read morestumbled upon this little gem completely by accident while visiting the Natural History Museum, and honestly? Best accidental discovery of my entire trip to Denver. This tiny, adorable hole-in-the-wall shop is everything you want in a neighborhood ice cream spot -- warm, welcoming, unpretentious, and run by two of the most genuinely lovely women I've ever encountered in the food service industry. From the moment our group of six walked in, we felt like we'd been coming here for years. They were patient, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about every single thing they make. Now let me talk about the ICE CREAM, because wow. Six people, multiple flavors between us, and not one single complaint -- which if you know my family, is basically a miracle. Everything was rich, creamy, and tasted completely homemade in the best possible way. But the thing that absolutely sent me over the edge? BANANA PUDDING. Multiple banana pudding options. I grew up in the South and I have been low-key grieving the lack of banana pudding culture everywhere else I've lived, and here it is -- in Denver, Colorado -- done absolutely right. I may have embarrassed myself slightly. No regrets. This is a Black woman-owned business and these two have built something truly special. It's family-friendly, it's joyful, and it has that rare quality of feeling like a place that was made with real love. If you're anywhere near the museum, you would be genuinely doing yourself a disservice to walk past this place. Go in. Get the banana pudding. Thank me later.

I kind of wish I got it in a smaller cone or even as a regular in a cup because after a little while of eating it I got extremely thirsty- it's really salty. I'm not going to lie though I can't stop thinking of it. Husband got the Space Junkie which was a berry ice cream with chunks of brownie. It was really good but not an overpowering flavor. Kiddos got Orange Dreamsicle which tastes exactly as it sounds, and Lemon Sorbet which was very refreshing for a hot summer day. All in all, the ice cream was great! There is no indoor seating as the ice cream shop is kind of in the middle of the quad area. There are chairs around it, and even a giant connect four. Service was great as she asked if we had questions or wanted to sample flavors. Definitely will come back every time we visit Denver!

One must check out this hidden gem of a bakery tucked inside H Mart!…read more I absolutely love all the tasty treats at Chaton Bakery, but my favorites have to be the ube Japanese cheesecake, cream puffs, and yuzu Basque cheesecake. Everything I've tried has been so delicious, and there's such a fun variety of desserts to choose from. And let's not gatekeep the all-you-can-drink boba tea! You can grab a drink and some goodies at the bakery, shop around H Mart, and then refill your boba before you head out. Such a fun little perk! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the service really stood out to me. Justice and Amy were working when I stopped by, and both were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Their customer service definitely made me want to come back. Between the delicious desserts, fun boba setup, and genuinely warm service, Chaton Bakery is absolutely worth checking out. A true hidden gem!

I give it 5 stars, and here's why…read more First, I read a few reviews here claiming it's not worth $16-18 for a cheesecake. I have to disagree. It's reasonably priced considering the location, and there are no other authentic Japanese bakeries nearby that specialize in souffle-style Asian cheesecake. Yes, there are Eurasian bakeries like EBakery next door, Yum Yum across the street, or Tous Les Jours around the corner, but they don't make fresh cheesecake. Second, I like their limited menu, which means that's all they do and that they perfect it. Japanese souffle cheesecakes are clearly the best when eaten fresh and jiggly, but if that's not an option, you can always refrigerate them and enjoy that slightly dense, creamy texture, still airy. Also, these cheesecakes are naturally not very sweet. They have just enough sweetness to add a touch of flavor, unlike American cheesecakes, which are full of sugar and dense cream cheese. Their cream puffs are, again, on the same limited menu. They have only a few flavors. They are airy and fluffy, not too sweet. Their shells also remind me of soboro bread. Unlike Italian or American cream puffs that have chewiness to the shell. As far as service goes, I appreciate the cashier's patience in explaining each ingredient, what's best, and how to store them and their shelf life. Since they only use limited, whole, natural ingredients, he thoroughly explained how long each item stays good. I do like the idea of bottomless boba drinks as long as you're shopping at H Mart. That's nice, but given its location, it can be inconvenient. Still, the idea is good, I guess. Maybe in the future, if they can incorporate a small cafe setting to sit and enjoy unlimited boba drinks and serve cheesecake by the slice, that might be more feasible with the bottomless tea idea or by relocating near the cafeteria area, which would make more sense.
