They didn't have the tire in stock but could get it by Wednesday. I found a tire in Mayer at the Harley Davidson but I'll get to back to that. I asked if I got the tire and got there by 4 could they get me in to swallow the tire out since we need to be on the road in the morning. He said his guys were itching to go home. So I inquired about Wednesday and he said they didn't hsve to tools to swap the tire. Unfortunately there is no special tools needed for changing a tire. Liberty Harley Davidson had 1 tire for $400 however he was rude and acted like he was put out for having to go look for the tire. Then he let me know that he can't work on anything but a Harley Davidson. I let him know it was an unexpected emergency and he said they aren't allowed. The most helpful person in town was the manager at Discount tire. He called around tried to set stuff up and was friendly. I could her the guy from liberty Harley Davidson telling him he'd already told the guy on the Indian he can't change it. So we rented a U-hual and were taking home. The tire prices are about $100 more than the valley. Clearly Go AZ and Liberty Harley Davidson don't care about riders in the least. I wouldn't buy anything from Prescott Valley GoAz or Liberty HD. They aren't about riders.

I called here, first, to see if they had the tires I needed since one of mine exploded and I was…read morerunning on the spare. Guy I spoke to said they had three price choices all in stock. He was helpful, friendly and smart. I got there and showed them the exploded one on the good rim and that I had put in the hatchback spare tire area. He suggested buying two tires and I agreed. Again the guy was helpful, friendly and smart. I pay a good price and after about 1 hour it's done. Two new tires I staffed a the real rims and spare tire put away. So far an excellent experience. Then I drove the car. The massive rattling around in the spare tire area tells me something is way wrong. I pull over and look in the back spare tire area and the large cover panel is not fitting and raised about 6 inches up from where it should be. The jack and lug wrench are misplaced to the side of the spare tire instead of in their proper holder, with their molded in shape/outline so anyone can easily see how the go back in. The way the jack, lug wrench and tire were just thrown in made so much noice and tire are cover not close to fitting and the large screw that holds it all down rolling around with every turn, brake, bump or acceleration. Took me about 5 minutes to get it all out and then back in correctly. Since everything was already out of the back of my car when then they went to put it back together It should have taken then about 2 minutes to do it right since it took me five to pull it all out and then put it back in. Two minutes guys! Spend the two minutes next time. Not all that big of a deal for me because I know my car and figured they just did a terrible job putting it together and I fixed it. What about people who get this horrible service and they don't know their car well, or they are very young or very old drivers, hearing all that noise in the back. They would have to take it back to Discount Tire, complain and wait until they did the replacement of the spare into its area correctly. That turns a good buying experience with friendly smart people, giving great service, and turning it into a pain the neck bad experience. Probably just one slacker mechanic and it makes the whole place look bad. Find the guy who is doing such an inexcusably bad job putting spares back in people's car and retrain him or get rid of him. He's making a joke of all the of the great work the other staff do.

I needed a brake job and considered driving back to the valley to get this done but realized that it would not be the most convenient appointment to keep? I did a little internet searching and saw all the great reviews this shop had so I made an appointment and dropped off our Dodge Challenger. Later that afternoon I received a call from Fred and he proceeded to tell me that I did NOT need new brakes! The brake noise was due to their semi-metallic pads being very dirty. They cleaned them up and the noise went away! I asked what I owed him for his time and he said nothing! They put time in on my car and I assumed I would pay for a diagnostic at least? That really showed their honesty and integrity and they will be my new "go to" for auto repair and maintenance!

The sign out front of Pep Boys says "Prescott's New Dream…read moreTeam. Come Say Hello." My experience with them has been a nightmare. I had work done my car a month ago and in the process they broke some wiring for my off-road functions which made the dash light up like a Christmas tree with warning lights but they said they would fix at no charge. Admirable and appreciated. The part came in but they ordered the wrong part. They had to reorder the part and it took more than a week for them to get the correct part. Once installed there were still warning lights on my dash that they couldn't get to go off. Their computer software was not up-to-date with the correct codes to calibrate everything to reinstate the off-road functions and get the warning lights to go out. They insisted they could fix the problem they created but as the weeks went by with many more trips back and way too many hours spent with no resolution I lost all confidence in them that they could resolve it. All of this was a huge inconvenience and disruption of my life since I need my car to work and make money. It was obvious they weren't going to get their software to update so I requested to go to the dealership to get the problem fixed and have Pep Boys pay for it. I was told the request would need to go to the district manager and they would get back to me. I did not hear back from the district manager but the acting store manager in Prescott, Chris, verbally agreed over the phone that I could take my car to the dealership to get this problem taken care of and they would reimburse me. I insisted on an email, which was like pulling teeth to get, stating the agreement so I would have documentation. I requested the email by the end of day and by the next morning when it still hadn't arrived I called Chris to ask where it was. He made a bunch of excuses about how busy he was and then said "I'm composing it right now" and finally sent it. The day after I received the email I took my car to the dealership and thankfully they were able to fix my car in a couple hours. Now that my car is fixed and I've submitted the invoice to Pep Boys, I can't get a response from them as to when and how I will receive my reimbursement. I have escalated the issue to Corporate Pep Boys and hope to find resolution there so I do not have to take Pep Boys to small claims court. Furthermore I've noticed other things which reinforce why I would never go back to Pep Boys and highly recommend to anyone who continues to use the Pep Boys store in Prescott to proceed with great caution. Here is a list of things I've noticed that exhibit a lack of professionalism: * On my last two oil changes they did not put the correct mileage on my invoice, if any at all. And on one invoice it wasn't just a few miles off, it was over 16,000 miles incorrect. * The most recent oil change I did not receive my complimentary inspection which they provide via text. When I asked about it all I got was a shrug and a "you should have received it". I thought at that point the right thing to do would be to print it out for me or resend it but he didn't. *The complimentary inspections are not free and the charges vary from one visit to the next with no details on the invoice. No idea what you're paying for. * They don't do thorough inspections because when I took my car to the dealership they did their courtesy inspection and found my cabin air filter was extremely dirty. * If you like the little sticker on your windshield with the mileage of your next oil change, you're going to have to beg for it. * Their invoices list the name of a manager who is no longer there. * If you have an issue, you cannot reach the district manager and when you ask to have that person call you, they do not. I hope they find a real manager soon because it is abundantly clear Chris doesn't have the experience to effectively execute the duties of a manager. My final advice is, if you choose to support this business, be wary. There are a lot of other options out there and I am certainly taking my business elsewhere. If the original Pep Boys, Manny, Moe and Jack could read this, they'd probably roll over in their graves.

DO NOT GO HERE!! This shop broke one of my wheel studs,…read morewhich I had no issue with, however, it was from using an impact to put them back on. He also stated that the shop did not own a regulator for that tool. They did not use a torque wrench or any other tool. At that point, I took it back to my maintenance shop and we ended up breaking another three just trying to take the tire off. All because they used an unregulated impact to install my lugnuts. We ended up having to replace three studs and three lugnuts. They were going to replace it but I didn't want their careless mechanic working on my car again. He just would've used an impact to put them all back on. MORE IMPORTANT PLEASE READ He charged me $50 for the tire patch, and I figured out that one of my friends who took her car here only got charged $30!! Both vehicles had the same work done, just one tire patch. Pablo, the business owner, has no base price he goes off of. He offered to only cover the $30 for the o-reilleys cost, then fully refused after I pressed about the price difference. Please save your car and money and just go to a shop that owns a torque wrench. And most importantly charges fairly.
