I spoke with Katie over the phone and decided to go in and see her even though other stylist were available. Katie was very nice and thoughtful. Offered me a beverage and made sure I was comfortable. We discussed my color concerns and she was able to quickly guide me and color match to my natural color. I'm pretty simple when it comes to cut and style but I very much appreciate that she still went over the cut and clarified before she began. She had another client at the same time as me but I did not feel rushed or overlooked. What I appreciated so much was I felt she was able to give me the experience I wanted. I like to sit quietly and get my hair done I don't so much like having a conversation and want to close my eyes and relax. I felt she totally understood my energy. I've been to plenty stylist who keep chatting away even when I barely respond and I feel I'm making it obvious I'm not interested in conversation. I did notice she had great conversation with her other client which made me appreciate that she really understood the experience I was looking for. My color came out great and I loved my cut. Color held up very well over the next couple months even with my regrowth the all over color still maintained. This is something that at other salons I notice changes as the weeks go by. After my appointment I was waiting in the lobby and she came back to check on me again to make sure I didn't need something to drink. She's very sweet. I am looking forward to my next appointment with Katie and again was very happy as a first time client at the salon. Both of my kids have very fine hair that will look REALLY unkempt with the wrong cut, so it always feels like taking a chance when I don't know the hair stylist. But I shared a few photos of hairstyles we liked and the stylist (Veronica) got to work. First, Veronica was so good with my kids. One was bummed to be getting a haircut, worried it would be too short bc he wants a longer haired surfer look. Veronica won him over by asking his favorite tv show and letting him watch it on the tv! She gave him the perfect fresh cut. He got to keep the beachy vibe and I got to see his chlorine-damaged split ends disappear! My other son has sensory issues and usually gets anxious about haircuts, especially the electric clippers. But it was def time to clean up his hair! He seemed comfortable with Veronica and I noticed that she was careful about not scraping the clippers up the back of his head or anything. So. I was only planning to get my kids' hair cut, but the stylist did such a good job with them and the prices were tempting enough that I sheepishly asked if she had time for me too.
